| Weight Loss | Should I avoid splenda while eating clean? | Apr 07 2009 04:54 (UTC) |
7 |
Yeah well i define clean eating as eating pure foods..and splenda is not included in that category. stick to the motto...if god didn't make it, don't eat it...when trying to eat clean. plus splenda isn't the best thing to get addicted to. i should know. i used to use up to 20 packs a day. it was disgusting. now i use at the maximum 5. i use organic honey to sweeten oatmeal and have found just using less sugar instead of fake sugar works just as well. and no one knows the true consequences of splenda. it could be wreaking havoc on our systems |

| Foods | Should I make myself eat more? | Mar 31 2009 03:09 (UTC) |

Just eat higher calorie foods. You could eat maybe two servings of oatmeal for breakfast...make brown rice for dinner with chicken and a vegetable. eat some yogurt with almonds. its def not hard to eat around 1200 cals if you eat high cal foods less often. |

| Health & Support | anybody tried the master cleanse? What was your experience? | Mar 23 2009 16:21 (UTC) |

if your not sure how to make it or don't want to risk making it the wrong way (much like me) I believe GNC and other specialty health stores carry this product that is the master cleanse and is bottled. It has the right amounts of everything in the master cleanse and has added antioxidants. its called simply slender. I believe that this stuff can work but its not healthy at all. This is a temporary solution. |

| Weight Loss | Diet Soda | Mar 15 2009 15:13 (UTC) |

My sister and I decided to quit soda/diet soda cold turkey for our new years resolution. And i haven't drank a soda since January 1, 2009. And I don't miss it at all. You just have to find a substitute for your sodas. Try flavored sparkling water. It is super yummy and is carbonated so its still kinda like soda. You just gotta put it in your mind that you are stronger then a can of soda and that if you don't want to drink you don't have to. Diet soda has been studied to be just as harmful as regular soda. And i don't think you want to be one of the people to prove those studies right later on in the future when you have health problems from all the chemicals in diet soda. |

It will only sabotge your "diet" if you allow it to. And anyway, diets are temporary while a healthy lifestyle is for life. I know its said over and over but you should take your focus off of the word diet because that is why you feel this way after over eating a meal. You already know how to get back on track. Just go back to your 1300-1400 calorie days with mini meals. And how terrible you feel should make you want to get back on track with no hesitation. As for the bloat, you can drink a lot of water and eat minimal sodium. |

I am not one to cook...ask anyone. So i normally just wash the sweet potato, wrap it in a napkin/paper towel and microwave it. Depending on what size the potato is, it can take anywhere from 5 to 7 minutes. Then i just use some spray butter with it. I haven't tried brown sugar and cinnamon on it but ive heard about it so much i might have to try it |

| Weight Loss | I'm not sure what to do... | Mar 06 2009 18:22 (UTC) |

There are a lot of exercises online that you can do that help you to lose weight and build strength but arent cardio based. I know how you feel too. I am also about 50 pounds overweight and i find structure really helps me pass the time and eat at the right amount of calories. Im a dork and make charts that i can fill out everday. Also, staying positive really helps which can be hard. Im very critical of myself but i try to say atleast 3 positive things a day. You could also try just walking every evening. Don't have to power walk but any type of exercise is better then nothing |

| Weight Loss | I just got my tongue pierced and.. | Mar 06 2009 18:16 (UTC) |

I too got my tongue pierced once and i ate smoothies as well. how about using soymilk or almond milk as a subsitute for regular milk? I took my tongue piercing out tho so i didn't have to abide by those rules for very long so thats all i can really contribute. Maybe try some slimfast shakes or protein shakes just to make sure you are getting nutrients and take a multi vitamin. Popsicles might also be good. Its really hard to eat with a new piercing in the mouth. |

Sometimes I mix salt and pepper with it and eat it it celery. But i mostly like my cottage cheese sweet. Mostly I use it for a quick breakfast. I use 1/2 cup cottage cheese with splenda, cinnamon, some frozen fruit (blueberries mostly), almonds and a container of yoplait light. pretty tasty. |

| Weight Loss | Tuesday Bingeday.... | Mar 06 2009 17:06 (UTC) |
|
Only you can help yourself. OK, I, seriously, went on a 3 month binge. This was of course after 2 years of deprivation. Got down to 115 pounds from calorie restriction and exercising. Not proud. But anyway, everyday for 3 months I was out of control. My worst day topped atleast 3000 calories. And everyday I would tell myself, this is the last day. And it never was. I wanted to stop but I realized there was something deeper going on then just wanting the food. Stop associating Tuesday with binging. Thats all you can do. The fact that you probably waking up on Tuesday knowing your going to binge is because your allowing yourself to believe you will binge. I bet if you take the self control and determination to not binge one Tuesday, you will feel a great sense of relief and control. I know when i decided to let myself rule my life and not the food, it was so easy to go a week without binging. And then that week turned into a month and so on. I dont' feel the urge to binge anymore and I realize that Im happy knowing Im in control. |

| Weight Loss | eating when not hungry... | Mar 06 2009 16:55 (UTC) |
2 |
Its all psychological. Im such a boredom/emotional eater and I just had to tell myself to say no. I stay home a lot and have the whole kitchen open to me all day but I put a will in my mind to stick to certain times to eat and certain things to eat. Chewing gum could help but ive found that after doing that for a while i feel bloated and gross. plus my jaw starts to hurt. I also love sparkling flavored water. I drink regular water for most of the day but that kind of livens things up a bit. Or you could drink crystal light. I have also been trying to find a hobby which can help a lot but i don't know what to do yet. The best thing to do is fix the problem instead of avoiding it by doing other things. Seriously, you need to learn to say "hey im not hungry right now and im not going to eat" and forget about food until you are hungry. Its never easy but it will help in the long run |

Diet is totally important no matter what, especially during your period. a healthy diet and exercise can help you reduce bloat and drinking plenty of water can help you flush out that water weight. There is no vacation when your trying to develop a healthy lifestyle

| Weight Loss | is ok to binge once a week? | Mar 03 2009 22:17 (UTC) |
|
There is a difference between "cheating" and binging. Binging is very unhealthy not only physically for your body but can be mentally and emotionally unhealthy as well. Binging can be seen as a disorder. Its okay to have a slice of chocolate cake and enjoy it, but stuffing your self until the point of no return is not okay. I have gone through 3 months of non stop binging because i told myself just one day would be okay. but one day just wasn't enough and i kept going. I mean, if you know you have the self control to do it just one day a week then maybe you could do it. But like i said before, it is just unhealthy no matter what. I say just have your one treat a week and that should be enough |

Palmers has this new oil that is for stretch marks, dry skin, etc. i have been using it on my stretch marks on my thighs for only a few days so it hasn't been long enough to see results there but i used it on my nasty dry elbows (lol) and it worked wonders. it is an oil not a lotion but it doesn't feel nasty and it dries pretty fast. its about ten dollars a bottle and i found it in target but it seems totally worth the price. should definitely check it out

Well canned food doesn't have to be all that bad. I eat canned vegetables with no salt added and rinse them before eating. I know canned or frozen vegetables arent the best but they are good enough with a budget. But i totally agree with no fast food. i refuse to support what they are doing to this country. And i would go to subway more if the employees at my subway weren't so greedy and rude. I swear I pay four dollars for a sandwich with like the skimpiest condiments lol i would like more then 4 black olive slices on a 6 inch turkey sub |
