According to your stats, your daily burn is 2000 cal, so 1500 would be a good target goal for you. Just make sure each of your meals has a good balance of protein and carbs and you should be good. For carbs, I recommend getting them from vegetables, rice and potatos. I don't know about anyone else, but anything with wheat in it tends to send my appetite into hyperdrive.
BTW Congrats on the the 1lb! That's a good healthy start!
This was REALLY helpful for me thank you so much.
I think I am starting to understand the balance I need a bit more reading everything here every day.
I always had an idea that eating so many calories was a BAD thing and less was better now I am learning that less is not better and it's in the food choices I make.
Again, VERY helpful thank you! |

My mom went on the hunt one day for me a couple years back while on one of my 'diets'. One of the best she found is Wonder Wheat Light Bread. It's 40 cal a slice and tastes wonderful.
Also if they are bottles of water in the break room, from a vending machine. They are probably 20 oz. It will say on the front of the label.
Thank you Jess I am shopping tomorrow and I will look for it! It would be awesome to have a "real" sandwich!! |

What are your stats?
- How old are you?
- How tall are you?
- How active are you?
- How much do you weigh?
- How much do you hope to weigh?
- What foods do you eat in a typical day and when?
- How much water do you drink?
Once these basic questions are answered you'll get a lot more useful information. For the basics, 1200 calories is the minimum recommendation for women over 21 years old to lose weight. So just looking at your posts you're not eating enough.
I am 5'7 and 169 and am 44 years old.
I work in an office which keeps my activity low during the days but I have been taking a yoga class 3x's a week for the last 2 weeks. My goal is 135-140 .
My typical eating habits are not good, which I am working on, I do ewat healthy choices like a lot of fruit, and veggies but I tend to eat them all after 5 pm when I get home from work.
That is why I am trying to spread out my eating, and why I tend to get full when I try and combine the foods I need into one meal.
I drink about 3-5 bottles a day but I am not sure how many oz's are in each ( they are in our break room)
Thank you!! |

I have a hard time figuring out what "breads" won't kill me in calories...
If you're having trouble reaching your calorie goal, why are you concerned about which type of bread has more/less calories?
Well as I said I have never done this in a healthy way and I am learning what it seems you already must know, which would be the basics of eating correctly.
My questions may seem silly and maybe even irrating to you, but for me it is now a concious choice to try to do what is healthy, something I have never done before.
Thank you for responding.

Hi there,
I'm new to bloging and recently joined the site. I also happen to be a personal trainer. How many calories are you consuming per day? How are these calories distributed through out your day (how many meals and how many calories and what time of day). Let me know so I can give you some suggestions. Be proud of that one pound !
Take Care, Nichole
I am trying to do 1200 a day ( I am averaging 1000-1250 a day)...you know I never really thought about that Nichole, I usually have my "BIG" meal at dinner time because it's the time that I get to spend with my husband and don't eat much at all until then...time to spread my meals out!
You may be able to answer this Nichole.
Is it better for me to do a yoga class in the morning before work ( 6am class) or in the evening after work?
Thank you so much for the help!

Hi!
What sort of foods are you eating? Grazing certainly helps, just have little bits often and make sure you are getting the calories from a mix of the right sorts of foods.
Hey, 1 pound is still a loss, it will be slower the right way but it will happen if you stick to it.
I eat a lot of fruit.
I seem to be on a Pineapple frienzy the last 2 weeks...as well as grapes and cottage cheese. I have a hard time figuring out what "breads" won't kill me in calories...
Thanks GG!
