There are tons of little corner groceries and produce markets where you can pick up a quick veggie/fruit snack.
Also, another trick for exercise in NY - if you can't make it to Central Park for a morning run... do what we used to do in high school when we didn't have anything else to do/money for the train.
Walk either down Broadway from Times Square to China Town... or the other way around... You'll get to see a lot of stuff, save yourself 2 bucks, and burn loads of calories. :) |

| It's been awhile since I posted as I just started a new job! Walking for 10 hours a day should help off-set the high calorie food that tastes oh-so-good in the cafeteria.

that definitely happened to me freshman year, instead of the freshman 15 it was the freshman 50! i figured that because my campus was so big and i walked a lot and played on the basketball team that i could just eat whatever... not exactly true though.
like some of the other posters said, in the dining hall, be careful of your portion sizes for one. if it's a food that is served on a plate, don't eat it all, and if it's self service, limit yourself to just one spoon full or whatever of those high-cal foods.
also, start with a big salad. most schools have a salad bar, i hope yours does - that was the only thing that helped me stay sane sophomore year after the freshman 50!
portion size portion size portion size - if you know you will eat the whole box of cereal, either A) don't buy it if you really can't control yourself. B) pour some into a bowl, eat that, and be done with it... Definitely don't eat out of the box, or even with the box still open in front of you. It's so much easier to fall to temptation that way.
Good luck :) It won't be easy, but you can do it! |

lol yes August is oppressive, except when we get a nice hurricane and the wind cools things down a bit :)
Remember to stay hydrated though... Nothing worse than forgetting to drink water when you're out in the sun all day and waking up the next day with dehydration. |

Size wise, you should fit into nearly everything... However, keep in mind that June in Florida is not June in Massachusetts. It will be hot all day, with a brief thunderstorm between 2 and 7, after which it will cool off just a bit and then get super humid again. Be prepared for a lot of moving around in really hot sun. |

Original Post by bubbles556: Funny you should mention alcohol's F rating. After I posted, I went in and looked and I did have an F day... I had a major hangover and all I could keep down was berry chai and a fruit cup from Starbucks and then when I felt better I went out drinking again..... Yeah, that probably wasn't the best idea :)
Moral of the story - drinking is bad kiddies. Mmmkay! |

I'm 24, and personally, I wouldn't feel comfortable telling a man anything about my cycle except for my boyfriend or my dad. I would, however, feel comfortable talking about those things with a woman even if she was a stranger.

My average is a B+ and I've had lots of A days (and sadly a few C+ days too!). I eat fruits and veggies, usually some lean meat (96% lean beef, chicken breast, turkey breast, or fish) and try to keep the processed and frozen stuff to a minimum... although I am in love with the new Amy's Pizza Margherita. String Cheese is one of those foods that kills me - because I love it so, but it's a "C" grade food.
And yes, I do also eat chocolates and such, but I also eat fruit or veggies to make up for it. |

Hi!
I'm in grad school and I have the same problem - always eating and drinking with my friends. That's when you have to be strong and make good choices, whether it's at a restaurant or bar or in the dining hall. If you need any help feel free to drop me a message :) |

I've never really liked salad dressings. The only one I really like is Ken's sundried tomato vinaigrette, but I don't need it enough to buy it at the store... I only get it at this one particular restaurant with their one particular salad. It is delicious though! |

| The Lounge | Average bra size? | Mar 09 2009 10:33 (UTC) |

Original Post by mspw: I see your point and I agree, but no study that uses self-report of participants is completely accurate. I think there are 2 things people are missing out on here though (maybe it was mentioned somewhere in the middle of 15 pages, but I don't think so).
1. They're talking about the mean, not the mode... The mean being an average of all bands and all cups... The mode being the most frequently occuring size. The mean could theoretically never occur, because it is just an average of all data. For example - the numbers 5, 6, 8, 9 - the mean or "average" is 7 even though that number never occurs in the set.
2. When you think about it... breasts can be exponentially large (we've got a few Fs and Gs on here), but they can only get so small... Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think there's anything below a AA... maybe some sorts of training bras or something... but for the most part, no grown adult wears such a size. That would also skew the average size quite a bit - as there is a baseline small value and no defined high value.
Just my thoughts from the research oriented side :) |

I was in a similar position my senior year of college. My boyfriend was the only guy I'd ever been with, and while I was his first he had other intimate relations with many other girls... (I hope I'm making that clear without being too vulgar)... In the end, it was me who ended things because I was 20 years old and felt like I hadn't experienced anything.
Don't stress it too much... if he's really that hung up on it - then it's not meant to work out anyway... You're young - enjoy the time you have together whether it's another month or another 50 years. |
