Good luck with the guitar.  I started learning/teaching myself a couple years ago.  I got as far as picking out some simple songs.  Strumming confuses me. :)  There is lots of great help online.  I will conquer the strumming!!!  I am getting ready to take my MSF course next week.  I don't think I will be into the speed.  I am more of a "putter".  My husband on the other hand has done a few track days with his busa and is hooked.  He wants to head out to the salt flats in the next year or two to become a member of the "200" club!! :)

Sorry,  :(  He shouldn't be getting upset with you.  Ok to get upset at the guys, but if you are not doing anything to encourage them, then its not your fault.  Even a little flirting isn't a bad thing.  Besides you can tell him that those guys don't hold a candle to him, which is why you are MARRIED to him!!!  :)  When you get your shape back it wont be like the last time, cause the last time you were single.  ;)

Lynn, Have you talked to your hubby to find out what he thinks "HOT" is?  Hot is different to every man.  Some men need reassurance all the time that their "woman" only has eyes for them.  While it is flattering to get attention from other men, turning down a dance occasionaly infavor of spending some time with the hubby at the table will go a long way in letting your honey know he is the only man you have any interest in.

Now about the jean thing.  Maybe you guys can compromise.  Maybe wear cloths he finds more appealing (as long as they are work friendly) at work ( I take it you guys work together).  And you get to wear your jeans anywhere else you like.  :)

It is just a couple of suggestions.  But I have 16 1/2 years experience with marriage and I always find that compromising is always the best policy.  If one person tries to have their way all the time, it goes bad real quick.

Maybe there are some types of clothes that you would like your hubby to wear more often too.  :)

Anyway, hope it helps.

I forgot about the Jean talk.  Your right, I love jeans.  They are just comfortable.  Although I have to wear the "fat" jean now, but I know one day I will have me a nice pair of size 10 slims  ;)  I am a short "sista" too, so no long and lean for me either.  :)

I believe Slappy has run a 5K race, Neeners ran a Marathon, Jules has been doing great and just keeps everyone motivated, Oby, just looks plain fantastic!!!!  She has worked very hard and been very dedicated.

I have not been around the forums much, but decided the other day to just check in to see what was up.  I am soooooooo glad I did.

Yeah Lynn is back!!!!

Welcome Jak!!!

Hugs Willow.  I had the same thing happen to me when I bought my new scales.  My Dh said he thought the home scales were 10 lbs heavier than the doc's scales.  So I was subtracting 10 lbs when I was weighing.  Got the new scales and they are right on the mark with the doc's scale.  UG!!!!!  So I had to redo my weight loss goals and add 10 lbs to my weight.  But I figured I still lost 15 lbs no matter what, cause I was down 15 even from the old weight.  Hope that wasn't confusing.  :) It was just like what Jak suggested.  Anyway  Hang in there.  Have you taken your measurements?  Do your cloths fit looser?  Do you feel fitter?  If you answer Yes to any of those then girl you are on the right track.  Don't get caught up in the numbers.  You have come a long way and made progress.

Not sure what kind of music Magic likes, so I guess we will just have to hope she likes the classics.  80's of course.  I think someone here has a weird Al collection.  :)  *hmm where did I put those leg warmers*  OK, just kidding.  I really don't still have a pair of leg warmers *looks around nervously*  ;)

Your right bgc3.  Giving up is really not an option when you are in the 100 lbs + to loose area.  I know all of us have done it from time to time, but really what did that accomplish?  Feelings of frustration, stress, put on more weight.  So wouldn't it just be easier to stick with it?  Why do we (me) always have to do things the hard way!!  :)

You guys are all doing awesome!!!

Auntiejill, wow,  great job on getting all that exercise in.  That is fantastic.  I know you will reach your goal.  Just keep plugging away at it.

I think we are all amazing beautiful works of art.  All the great statues started out as just blocks of stone and look what happened when the artist chipped away the unnecessary bulk.  It didn't happen overnight and I am sure they lost patients too, but they never gave up.  So maybe we just need to think of ourselves as artist (sculpture-rs').  Scuplting our bodies into what they were meant to look like, happy and healthy.

Happy chipping  :)

I hope you are feeling better.  I think we all need a little comfort food when we are sick.  Mine is ice cream and hot tea.  Somehow that will settle me down.  In the past I would just eat ice cream all day, but now, I try to keep it to a minimum and have more hot tea.

Don't beat yourself up, just concentrate on getting better then get back on track.

Good luck on your test.

Kipp, I live about 50 miles west of STL on I-70 (Foristell).  Love the "old town" St Charles area.  If you were in O'fallon or further west, you wouldn't recognize any of the area now.  It is BOOMING!!!!!!!!  Houses literally going up overnight in the cornfields.  :)  St Charles is quite the metropolis.  The Rams camp is somewhere in "Earth City."  I wanted to take my FIL there this summer so he could get a look at a "REAL" NFL team.  :)  *duck*   He is a Eagles Fan (lives in Phily area).

Jen, I hate the "Cali" teams too!!!  I don't know why, just do.   I have a soft spot for the Packers.  I LOVE Brett Farve.  I want them to have a good year so Farve can go out on top.  Although I dont' want them to win against the Rams.  Not looking like that is going to happen though.  :(

I wanted to make my FIL a t-shirt for Christmas, with Go Eagles on the front and the back it would have a "sticky note" graphic with "Rams rule" written in like a scribbled hand script font.  Some how I don't think that shirt would get worn too much :)  Things like that could get you killed in Eagle country.  But it would be a great little gag gift for him.  I know he would get a chuckle.

Well Kipp YOU are definitly a Rams fan.  I have only been a fan since 2000 when we moved to STL.  I have been a Redskin fan since I was a wee little lass sitting on my Grandpa's knee on Sundays watching the games.  Of course my younger sis would have to root for the Cowboys.  She and I are like night and day.  :)

Of course a couple of years ago, we almost moved to Dallas.  There aint NO WAY I would ever root for the cowboys.  You would have to drag my cold Dead body to the game.  And even then, I bet I could come back long enough to give a boo or a hiss!!!  ;)

Go RAMS!!!!!! :)  Besides, we had to win.  We couldn't let Marks come in with a different team and beat us at home.  Just not good.  All though I think Marks is in a good place.  Lion's offense was good.  No doubt there.  But so were we!!!!  :)

Yeah, when his friends caught up to him at the stop sign, they asked if he needed help getting his bike seat out of the "nether regions" of his body.  :)  Of course those weren't their words, I was just trying to be "polite".  :)  Dennis, says he almost took them up on their offer. :)

I "love it" when my husband comes home from a bike ride and says he had a good time and almost died.  NOT!!!  I am just glad I wasn't there to witness it first hand.  YIKES.

bgc3, you are awesome.  Thank you for sharing your thoughts and journey.  Keep up the good work,  You know you are worth every minute of the struggle.

I have been on this site since 03/23/06 and I have lost a total of 19 lbs.  Not alot, for the amount of time.  It could have been more had I been more aggressive with the exercise (no excuses).  There were definitly days when I just said enough.  The only thing that has been different this time is being on this site and more important, the people here who inspire me each and every day.  This has made it so much easier to get back on the wagon.  Where as before it would take me months/years to get my head on straight.

Well for all you "Z" diet people.  I discovered a new diet better than that.  Especially since it doesn't matter how you loose as long as you loose and reach your goal, right.  Try the new Food Poison diet.  I did it this past Thursday and lost 8 lbs in 2 days.  :)  Well it was really 8 lbs in about 8 hours, but I didn't have the strength to weigh myself until the second day.  It was so easy, no exercising required, well except for the occasional walk to and fro from the bathroom.  I just layed in bed, drank a few sips of water during the day, had a 2 saltine crackers and slept.  Amazing what the human body can do, huh!!!!

dodgeman_1000, you are on a dangerous path.  Please, Please, Please, be careful.  You may feel great now, but this will catch up to you.  I hope for your sake that you can maintain your weight after you reach your goal.  I tried the starvation thing when I was around 16 and weighed 189.  I got down to 160.  I am now 38 and started out weighing 330.  I yo-yoed my way up.  It terrifies me that if I don't get a handle on being healthy, then I might find myself the next time up in the 400's or higher.  Worst yet, I may not find myself, I may be dead!!!!  So you see, it is important to KNOW what healthy eating is.  And starving yourself is NOT HEALTHY.  You don't need will power to change your lifestyle and eat healthy, it is only a decision.  And just because somebody has a beer once in awhile or some surf and turf doesn't mean they are not eating healthy.  It means they aren't consuming the bad stuff nearly as often as they use to.  Since you "seem" to have been around a while, you know the old saying "Nothing good ever comes easy."  It is so true.  Your Dentist friend in his journey of weightloss may think that the way he did it was good for him, but it is not something that most people can do or should do.  I wish you luck and good health, seriously.

HK, Athena, Finewine, and others thank you all for being such an inspiration to me and for sticking up for those who may feel the quick way is better way.  You all are awesome!!!!

Me too!!!  A friend got me into it a couple of years ago.  It has been such a blessing in our home.  I still freak when people drop by, but I think that is just out of habit.  :)  No my house is not spotless, nor will it ever be.  But it is comfortable and lived in without being too embarassingly messy.  My friend, Karen, and I are thinking about going on the Alaskan Cruise they are doing in August.  It was so funny, cause we have been talking about that for a few years and here is an opportunity finally.  :)  I haven't read the body clutter book yet, but I hear it is great and am looking forward to getting it.
