| Weight Loss | Do you eat when you're not hungry? | Mar 25 2009 20:32 (UTC) |

I tend to eat when I am bored. It is my major downfall. Since I have been counting I have realized that without all those needless snacks I actually don't eat enough. I am having to remind myself to eat when I need to regardless if I am hungry or not. For a while I was only at 1000 calorie days wich is not good for anyone. So now I just try and eat an apple or yogurt in between meals to ensure that I get ENOUGH calories for the day. I have also discovered that I need to make breakfast and lunch bigger meals rather than dinner that way I don't feel like I am trying to make up a whole bunch of calories at the end of the day when I am my least active. Good luck and Great job on the 2.8 lbs.! |

I too thought they were required by law to provide nutritional information, however, when I looked on Melting Pot's site they do not. Some resturaunts do and some don't but I always thought they had to. Rainbow270, it is the same in the US. Our Country is on average, obese, and yet it is frustrating because of the availability of all the junk and that all the healthy stuff is sooo expensive that you can barely afford to eat anything but junk (even from the grocery stores!). |

Yes, you are definitely eating too little... you as a woman should eat no less than 1200 calories a day in order to sustain your body at normal functioning. The best bet is to plug your numbers into CC and see what it tells you your daily calorie intake should be. Remember that it is only as estimate based on the information you give it so be honest with yourself and the calculator. Also, as for the weight gain it could simply be that you are putting on muscle with your work out regiment. Muscle weighs more than fat. I wouldn't stress the scale, really. Ask yourself... "How do I feel?" That is all that should really matter! Good luck! |

Congrats! You should find that the ten pounds you have lost will motivate you even more to lose the last ten. This truly is about lifestyle changes, the hope being that even when we all get to our goal weight (and we all will) we will be able to maintain it with the things we have learned while losing it in the first place. |

Original Post by shaded44: Don't feel bad... I have a hard time on the weekends keeping up with things as well. It is harder to get nutritional information from eating out than if we eat at home where I can control my food and what I decide to eat. There are a couple of apps for the iPhone that my bf downloaded for me so that when we do go out to eat I can see what the better options on the menu are before ordering. I will be honest, there is usually one day on the weekend that I do not enter my food on CC and count, but I have become so addicted to counting that I usually always have a rough number in my head and I still eat as healthy as possible! Don't be discouraged and let yourself eat things you enjoy just don't go overboard and you will be fine. I don't think one day is really going to hurt your goal! Good luck! |

I absolutely love Skinny Cow Dippers. The mint is my fave but they are all good and it gives me my little bit of chocolate and ice cream at the end of the day and at 80 calories a popsicle, there is no need to feel guilty!!! |

Original Post by jenningermany: I agree... why not budget into your day the allowance for one or two and stick to it. When you are finished with your drink(s) you can go to water or soda water. |

Original Post by trendstudent: I would have to agree... your body is probably just adjusting to the new diet which takes time. I found when I incorporated nothing but water in my diet the first week, that I was going to the potty alot (no. 2) which was not typical for me, but eventually my body got used to all the water being there and I was fine. Definately take a stool softener and some gas relief. If you still aren't able to go to the bathroom after a few days though, I would contact a doctor. Good luck and keep up the good work! |

I too was addicted to soda. My vice was mainly Mountain Dew but I would drink any of them. On a normal day I would drink 3 to 4 cans a day. Since I have been counting I have not had a soda in about a month. The truth is, I would rather EAT my calories than drink them. You are doing the right thing by weining (sp?) yourself off rather than cold turkey. I got headaches for a couple of days. Alot of my friends who also count will drink Coke Zero and they love it. Maybe you try that for a while. Good Luck! |

| Weight Loss | A question for all the women of CC | Mar 04 2009 12:17 (UTC) |

Regardless of whether that is true or not I would continue to exercise because it has been shown that if you exercise during your period it is said to relieve the symptoms of your period, i.e. bloating, cramping, irritability. I have become addicted to counting calories and couldn't imagine not counting because I love knowing how I am doing. If you quit counting, you will probably find that it will be easier to slip into your old ways and eat alot of bad things. My daily log makes me accountable which is why I love the CC website. So I would continue to count and be active despite whether this is a myth or not. |

Original Post by jblarghp: I would have to agree... alot of the time I can have a cup of coffee at 8 or so in the morning and won't eat again until 1pm without even noticing. Weird that is so filling. Other times, I have a bowl of Special K and I am starving within an hour, I just can't figure it out. |
