Alcohol can have that effect..! :-)

I dont think you are being unreasonable and I can understand why this bothers you, it would probably worry me a little bit too if i was in your position, but you should really take it out of the equation when considering getting back together. Before you saw these emails did you want him back? ...

You dont know that he has actually done anything. The internet to some, is not real life, and flirting on the net can be quite innocent... plus you broke up with him, you werent together. And i can imagine its quite hard(maybe embarrassing) to say 'oh by the way ive been flirting with girls online!!!) If you feel like you couldnt trust him again dont get back with him, but if you do you HAVE to tell him about what you saw, leaving things like that unsaid can ruin a relationship! I hope this helps.. ! And you dont think im being harsh... :-)

Weight Loss digest May 08 2009

From putting the food in you mouth to when it leaves you stomach i'd say around 3 hours.

For it to pass entirely through you intestines it takes around 4 or 5 hours.

Then it has to pass through your colon which is another few hours...

So i would say from mouth to toilet around 11 hours!

Weight Loss Avoiding the scale during your monthly lady time. May 08 2009

Oh my this is so true!

I gain water weight for 10 - 14 days before me totm and it slowly comes off during and just after my totm, i have actually found that it will appear I am losing no weight at all for 3 weeks, even though I'm working really hard.

I get to the point where im going to give up/smash scales/drown myself in lard and BAM i drop 4pounds overnight. I just HATE being a girl sometimes!

I thnk maybe i should weight myself once a month! Just after, much less traumatic i feel!

Weight Loss not hungry for breakfast? May 06 2009

Hey, I am NEVER hungry first thing either! But I had heard that it is better to eat breakfast to kick start your metabolism. But its weird, when i started eating breakfast I often found i was hungrier, sooner!

So I decided to have a really small breakfast ( like one boiled egg) and take another breakfasty thing to have at work ( like some fruit or even some beans :-) ) which seems to hold me until lunch or sometimes tea time.

So i think no, if your not hungry dont force yourself, guess you got to listen to your body! Just eat as soon as you are. As long as you dont leave it too long.

Mmmm peanut butter!

Your parents probably don't know much about nutrition - they're both heavyset and, based on that, you're supposed to be heavyset too. In my experience, many heavyset people can be like that. Those who are attempting to lose weight as well are wonderful, supportive, and quite awesome. Those who have no interest in losing say things like "You're going to lose all your curves and look like a boy." "You're losing too much weight, here, eat this!" And its because they know that if you could do it, right in front of their eyes, it means that they could too, if they tried. You're not some before and after picture on a commercial... "That looks doctored! I bet she had liposuction!" They watched what you did, saw the change, and don't want to have to face that they could do it too. So if they "can't" get skinny, the next best thing is to make you fat again!

Totally agree, there must be an element of jealousy in there! Keep on sluggging, as long as your doing it for you.

if i had to guess, i'd estimate that greenink is about 16.  hence, the stereotypes and generalizations.  she just doesn't know what she's talking about.  gotta give her credit for asking.

I'm 21.  Trying not to let that comment hurt my feelings. Because I wasn't aware that this kind of thing was supposed to be common knowledge for the adult population.

So far what I have seen of life, is that more females tend to fool around, or date other females, and then switch back to males.  If that's what I've honestly observed, then it's not a stereotype/generalization.

It's because the guys do it more discreetly, knowing that they would get lambasted (instead of praised) for this. I personally think half the women doing it are never even really into girls, just trying to impress guys with their fake "wildness", and that it's all a b.s. performance.

I actually agree with you here. - I really do think some (not all obviously) do it for attention or to impress blokes!

Hey greenpink! I'm a gay girl and most of my friends are gay and I have worked in a gay nightclub for over 3 years so I am associated with and know 100's of gay people. I DO find I am more likely to encounter bi girls than boys, in fact i have only ever met one bloke who is bi (and he's been in a relationship with another bloke for 4 years!) I have also noticed that a lot of 'straight' girls tend to experiment and then go back to men. This i just what i have seen from being quite prominent on the gay scene (I am no way saying this is a given fact just what i have seen)! SO in answer to your question, no i dont think it is anything to worry about with your bf (and i am in no way saying that bi men dont exist!). And yes, I do think girls are more likely to experiment - from personal observations in my area! And i am not stereotyping either. Just saying what I have observed!

Weight Loss losing weight in fits and starts? Apr 29 2009
11:26 (UTC)

Oh good its not just me then! I am generally going in the right direction on the scales (down!) Thanks for you comments.. And yes I do think totm has a HUGE effect, I tend to blow up and feel massive for up to ten days before im due, so the week after i usually notice the drop...

G I Jane - I drink about 4 litres of on an water a day (not including coffees and teas; the more of these i drink the more water I drink) People often say I drink too much fluid, but i am always thirsty and cant see that harm! Maybe i am overhydrated?  If thats possible

Thanks again for your responses!

Thanks for your detailed response! It helps a great deal!

So does that mean this could just be a fluke then? If i get back on the scales tomorrow morning i could have gone back up again? That would be so deflating! And do you think I should actually be eating more? I think my calorie intake is already quite high ... I am 6ft1 (v tall!) and quite broad, I'm (on average) getting around 1,800 a day. Usually by eating around 1,400 during the week and a bit more on the weekends!

I never really eat packaged foods, i alway cook from fresh and get LOADS of fresh fruit and veg in my diet, I dont eat bread... the only pre made stuff i eat is soups and occasionally prepakaged pasta sauces when im feeling lazy :-).. I also drink around 3 litres of water a day.

Thanks for your advice again!

Foods Grapefruit juice and weight loss Mar 30 2009
16:13 (UTC)

Grapefruits are one of a few foods/drinks that boost your metabolism (along with coffee etc..) But usually only for half an hour or so. The theory behind the grapefruit diet is to eat half a grapefruit (white) before every meal. The whole thing, pulp and juice. I tried this, (and eventually got to quite like grapefruit!!!) It seemed to work, but i was dieting anyway. But also, I noticed the positive effect of getting loads more vitamin C each day. In my opinion, whats the harm in trying it? It just fruit after all! Let me know how it goes for you!

Weight Loss negative calorie foods? Mar 27 2009
09:53 (UTC)

yeah i realise you would have to eat them raw, and adding anything, such as oil will change it.. and I dont intend on eating a whole load of raw veg myself, but i was just trying to explaing the theory behind it a bit .. mmmm I am partial to a bit of raw carrot dipped in houmous lol does that count? Laughing

Original Post by fluffydragon:

If negative calories were real, there would be no rabbits.

Haha funny point, but the reason us humans burn so many calories digesting things like celery etc ('rabbit food') is because we dont have the right enzymes to digest them (there is cellulose in some of these foods) whereas rabbits do! We just have to digest them longer and harder... :-)  .. so we do burn more calories digesting them than there is contained in them.

Weight Loss constantly bloated Mar 25 2009

Are you eating too much salt? This can cause you to retain water and make you feel bloated ... If so, you should drink plenty of water to flush it out of your system and try to cut your salt intake. Hope this helps :-)
