Last challenge: lost 5 of 8 pounds (too much traveling in Sept!) Start CC 2/9/09 @ 196 lb., 5'9" (age=52) w/ goal of 165 by 12/31/09 - CLOSE!!! 1. 10/11 - 169.8 Looked at my BMI and for first time in about 5 years, it has hit the healthy range! Woo Hoo! Total loss for challenge = 2.2 of 4.5. |

#147 - jweber96 - What worked the first week? Are you tracking evrything even whrn you don't make good choices? (that always helps me get back on track) As holiday's approach, we may all need a motivational boost. I plan on making deals with myself..."OK, have the beer, but you have to eat a fruit or veggie (and pumpkin bread is not a veggie!)" ...make lots of popcorn for munchies on Halloween night to keep fngures out of the candy bowl--better yet, make teen-ager answer the door and hide the bowl!! |

Transferring over from previous Heavenly Challenge! Now that I've had 20 weeks of fiing my diet, the weekly loss (...I always average so I don't freak about day today fluctuations...) is slowly down a bit. But I've seen a 10% loss, so I guess that's natural. Formatting hint: If you use 'shift-enter' rather than 'enter' between lines (like for a list of weeks), you'll get tighter spacing in your post like Hey Roger, saw you on the 25 lb challege, great loss since Jan'09!!! FL-Mom, Happy anniversary! We'll be at 28y in a month. I wish I had gotten more serious about wt back a dozen year ago. I recently did a chart of approx wt gains over last 30 years--boy, I wish my retirement fund looked like that, up-up-up<grin>!! |

I had/have the same problem with cereal and bread (comfort/easy food!). I kicked off in Feb with Carbohydrate Addicts for a couple weeks to get the binges under control. Over the last 4 months I've averaged a pound off a week--slow but sure! I've gone through lots of experimenting with my recipes and food choices and had a lot of bouncing around. Exercise has been so-so (start small). It really is a step at a time no matter how trite it may sound. |

How's this for a dinner? A little over 500 calories: a 2-3c salad with a touch of cheese to feel lux but a low cal dressing; stuffed fish easy heat (Oven Poppers brand); oops, forgot to add a cup of Broccoli!! Having a heavier grain bread with cream cheese is very satisfying, but could sub rice.

I tend to eat more in the PM too, but I've managed to come up with a standard, satisfying breakfast and lunch that leaves me enough of a calorie budget to--well, not indulge, but--eat well. Actually, I sometimes need a bed-time snack to not run too much of a deficit! (Kinda unbelievable when I think of it) I guess I'm saying I eat my low-fat, low cal earlier rather than later. Works for me as I'm less food-focused in the AM and lunch than I am after a stressful day (munchies!!!! chocolate!!!!). BTW - Althoughmy diet history only streches back to Feb, I raeley skip a meal. |

Sunday Weigh In (on Wednesday) (#4) ! > 5/15 Goal = 180. Some progress: Lost 0.5 lbs week avg from 181.4 to 180.9. Still no daily weights below 180 which is kind of a mental line for me. > Week's goal: move my carb/protein/fat ratios. Did well by adding complex carbs to my regular Protein/Fat breakfast and lunch: changes from C40/P26/F34 to 45/24/31 to 49/29/22 over last 2 weeks. But now I'm paranoid about the carbs since weight loss has really slowed without obvious reason (no binges, no TOTM, some water retention I think tho). > This week's goal - Try to keep the Fat's number around 25, but get below 180.0!!!! |

Go Gurl! (sorry, couldn't resist); SweatyPants (whose name goes unchallenged as it may be too much information <wink>) - Hope you're feeling better - spring is nasty time to get sick especially if any pollen gets into it. Had a couple eating out occasions this week. While I didn't go crazy, it did seem to hit my weight hard. Maybe it was just more salt from commercial food and picking up water with it. Anyhoo, not looking forward to weighing in tomorrow and figuring the weeks average. I've been out sweating in the garden burning off a few extra cals.
