First of all, is your mother forcing you to follow some religious traditions? If so, do tell them about your beliefs/ non-beliefs. Otherwise there is no point in telling others about what you beleive.

You don't need others support for what you beleive.

On a lighter note,: We have so many funny stories in our religion, like god dancing on a snake, lifting a mountain etc.

My co-worker always uses my chair. I got a approval from HR to use a special chair to suit my spinal cord problems. Its annoying to find your chair missing once you return from lunch/tea break.

Lot of people don't know what to do about their life after graduation. My friend is still confused about it even after her MBA + 1.5 years of experience in different jobs. Even after you decide on what you want to do, you may not like the job once you actually work there.

I wanted to be a HR person, but once i landed in a HR job i didn't like it. I switched over to two different roles and landed up in something I really love. It takes time. Be Patient. Until you decide take whatever opportunities come to you and give it a try. Not only it helps you paying the bills but you may end up liking the job.

FWIW, most of the indians I have met would just as soon be called indians.

that's interesting, because most of the natives I have met have made it very abudantly clear not to be called or tagged 'indian'.. the history behind that is of course columbus called them 'indian' because he made a mistake thinking he landed in India, hence the term.... I took a Native american history course in college, and had people from native souix tribes come in and make this point very clear to us, that it is an insult because they are the Natives to this land..  are there any Native american's out there in CC world, that can help with this point?

I think op is mentioning about people of the country 'India' not Native american's

So I gotta know,  is your fiance the youngest of his family.

Does he still live at home?

Sounds like she still wants to control his life.  Has she been welcoming to you in any way?

Do it without her.  and dont regret one singly thing you do on your day together.  You and your fiance are gewtting married not your MIL

Yes my Fiance is the Youngest of his family. She likes controlling everyone's life. She was in fact very shocked that her son is getting married early when we announced our engagement. My fiance is 30 today and this will be the perfect time for marriage.

As of now I'm going to proceed with the plans and may be she will honor us with her presence at the last minute!

At 26 No i don't feel like grown up. Though life has taught me several things, I'm still the same as i was in high school.

I like to be petted and pampered like a child and I still fight with my fiance for who gets the last scoop of icecream.

I'm not going to let our wedding date to be changed. My fiance too agrees on this. It was conveyed to our MIL. She's giving the reply don't expect me there then.

My fiance is going to check with his sister whether she can do without MIL's help for a day. If so may be we will sponser her tickets.

Else one person less from our guess list. May be my fiance will feel bad about it. But i'm not

Yep she do know about it. The reason why she want us to change the wedding date is her daughter(my future sil) is due one month before our wedding. She has plans to assist her post delivery.

My SIL wasn't pregnant when we planned our wedding. I can understand if SIL can't attend the wedding due to travelling with new born. But I think she can manage for a day or two without my MIL help.

We are still not sure whether this is the reason why my MIL want us to change the wedding date.

Well.. that's your FSIL's choice. I know that being pregnant does not necessarily stop you from partaking in life, unless it's a high-risk pregnancy of course, then it might. :/

She would have delivered the baby by that time. I don't know about travelling with a new born. But i guess she can manage the kid without the so called assistance of my MIL....

Your FSIL is invited to the wedding, yes?

She wasn't pregnant when we settled on wedding date.

She is invited too. But we don't know whether she is going to make it.

You can't control her actions, BBeauty, only your responses. Agree with you that the date should not be changed. Arrangements have been made. But more importantly, it's not her decision, it's you and your man's.

Do they say why they are adamant about a summer wedding?

MIL didn't specify any reason. My fiance feels that it may be because her daughter is due one month prior to our wedding. She had plans to assist her daughter post delivery.

Most likely this is the reason. But don't know for sure...

I concur.

Though, truthfully, with this kind of dramatic MIL, the precedent is probably already set with soon to be husband. I grew up with an overly dramatic woman too and... I know the symptoms. :p Firsthand. :p

She is the one and only dramatic woman i have come across. Looks like she has to have her way else she is like this.

If MIL is so *censored* as to put her own needs before her son's wedding, it'll probably be better for y'all if she didn't come.

If she doesn't come, she will make a huge drama out of this. It will start with how insensitive we are and end with what not......

But that will worth a watch than she attending the wedding

WOW. Not sure how you can handle that one. Knowing me, I would stand my ground and say nope, sorry- we already worked everything out so. Wished you told me earlier- something to that extent. Tough pickle you're in. What does your fiance have to say?

I too said the same thing. Its too late now after most of the arrangement done...

My fiance is trying to make them come. But no our wedding date is not going to be changed
