That's a good point! I'm going to add it in :)

8) This 'forces' me to educate myself more about what being healthy really is, and I've find that I know way more about nutrition than I've ever before.

9) Evaluates and redirects my emotions from eating to other channels, makes me more open to new things and ideas.

and a new one

10) By eliminating all highly processed and refined foods, such as high fructose corn syrup (high GI foods), I'm broke the vicious cycle of being hungry and snacking every hour!

The Lounge Tips on getting good skin? May 04 2009

To those interested in knowing, in the end I opted for Perfectil, this pills which supposedly have the right vits and minerals for good hair, nails, and skin. It's got pretty good reviews, and to be truthful I'm not a lotions/skincare gal, so even if I buy something I might not use it!

Will update on progress for the benefit of ppl in the future looking for the same tips :)

Probably the most accurate non medical amateur way to determine body fat percantage.

Weight Loss chubby face while slim body Apr 28 2009

It's natural for some people. The easiest way to make it look slimmer is to get a haircut looking something like this or this. It covers the cheekbones, making it look like you have a smaller face.

Weight Loss People making you feel bad about the way you looked before the loss? Apr 28 2009

People tend to state the obvious. It's no different than if you see someone who just cut their hair, "You had a haircut! It really suits you!", and THAT remark making that person think, "Oh, so my last hairstyle disn't suit me?".

I think it's normal, and you just have to see it as a compliment :)

Weight Loss it's not fair why can't i be one of those people Apr 17 2009

It's also not fair for some people who are born blind, or deaf, or mute, or with special need. They rarely can go socialize at Starbucks and whine about it afterwards.

It's not fair for some people for being lactose intolerant. They can't have coffee lattes in Starbucks.

It's REALLY not fair for some people to have the means to spend $3 on a coffee in Starbucks while in other parts of the world, THOUSANDS of people die of hunger. $3 can feed a family for a WEEK.

Seriously, grow up and quit comparing yourself to others. You could be worst off.

carmenxox - wow that actually makes a lot of sense. Does that mean I have a lot more muscle mass to begin with?

I don't exercise much, but I have always done dancing and karate and tae kwan do - generally a lot of cardio. I suck at strength, though.

But.. great insight! I'm SO buying that cute maxi dress I saw the other day. :D

Do you feel cold all the time, especially your fingers and toes?

If so, your metabolism's slowed down. Happened to me. During that time, my weight didn't budge. Then I varied my calorie intake and I lost like 3 pounds the next week.

I want to do flips and cartwheels. That's my reason.

Also to buy a pair of knee-high boots that fits.

Oh and to do cosplay. Fat girls can't do cosplay.

Wow, am I the only one here who likes her oatmeal salty? I make my oatmeals (and porridges) with water and salt only, and I love it that way. Come to the think of it, I've never even tried sweet oatmeals, and I tried porridge with sugar only to spit it out..

Young Calorie Counters Does anyone want tto start a group for college kids who have been overweight most of their lives? Mar 15 2009

I think I actually forum I actually like :) Somehow discussing weight problems with 15 year olds just doesn't feel right!

I'm 20, and has been overweight all my life (200lbs plus). I've been on more than a few diets and has practised unhealthy habits (like purging and overdose on diet pills) a few times. Thank God I don't do that anymore but now that I'm living alone my diet's got worse, until I started CC more than a week back.

I was an 'ugly duckling' kid - It was only when I was 17 that I started to take care of my appearance. I have a pretty face (so I've been told!) and recently I've taken an interest in clothes too (before it's always sweats and sneakers). I love Japanese clothing and I want to wear them - but they're naturally smaller so either I custom made them (too expensive!), or shrink myself to fit them, I guess!

I am determined to make this time work, and I do need motivation. I keep journal now, so if anyone else keep journals, tell me (mail me/comment on my journal) and I will definitely do the same for you. It's the extra motivation that can help me on this journey!

Young Calorie Counters People 5'4"-5'6" what size are you? Mar 15 2009

5'6, currently size 18 (uk). I'm actually pretty happy with my body. I just want to slim down to wear nicer jeans and clothes from Japan (well they're relatively small there, so either I custom made them - too expensive - or fit into them myself).

p/s- I don't get people who are thin but want to be thinner, but I'm not going to start judging, I guess we all have our reasons. But be happy. Too much people around the world don't even have the luxury of eating.

I'm 5'6, medium build, 20, and lost 10lbs so far in a little over a week :) Weight now is 204 down from 215. Target weight 154 lbs, highest end of the BMI range.

I hope I won't yo-yo anymore. I've been yo-yoing since forever, with my slimmest at 172lbs. I actually don't get you guys, you guys should be happy with the body you have now, you have no pressing need to be thinner, but I guess everybody have different views on their bodies, so I can't comment.

I find it relaxing to just jot down my thoughts on weight loss in the journal. If anyone else does the same, just mail me or leave a comment in my journal, I will do the same for you. After all, it's easier to lose weight if you have something to look forward to every day *wink*.
