Lately I've been craving a burger reeeallly badly. I even have dreams about it sometimes. Its not hard to resist, I just remind myself of the poor innocent cow that the burger used to be. But its still kind of annoying when I have dreams about eating meat, or when I'm making a double meat sub for someone at work (I work at Subway. Everyone there is vegetarian because its run by a Hindu family, isn't that funny?) and I smell the pepperoni smell and I want it. >.< I SHALL NOT break my two and a half year streak!

Does anyone else ever have this problem? Just so I can feel a little better about myself, lol.

Dana I just recently became a vegetarian had a dream a few weeks ago that... (ok this is really gross but it's what happened)... anyways i was gonna make a protein shake when i asked my mom to hand me some raw chicken.  In my dream i put it in the blender, blended it all up then drank it.  After i realized what i had done i started freaking out, screaming "I just ate meat!" and throwing up everywhere!  It was the most revolting thing ever!  I think my body might have been craving protein.  I know a couple other of my vegetarian friends have had similar dreams.  My one friend even had one where she ate her own dog raw! :(  it's horrible to experience but you aren't alone.  Maybe your body is just craving some extra protein.

Also veggie burgers are amazing! XD hehe

I’m soon turning sixteen and I want to become a vegetarian. I talked to my parents about it and they won’t let me. I personally don’t like most meats anyways. They think I only want to do it to lose weight which is only a small part of it, mainly I want the benefits of a healthy life style. Any suggestions?

I'm 16 well and just recently turned vegetarian.  Well actually i just found out i'm pescatarian but i want to be totally veggie so i'm fixing that, anyways, My parents were weird about it too at first, especially because i've grown up with my whole family hunting, fishing, etc so its kind of hard for them to grasp that i would want to give up meat.  I told them my reasonings and once they realized that i was serious and i wasn't going to eat meat there's really nothing they could do about it.  They still make little jokes about it but it really doesn't bother me.

Also you could always bring up the argument that it's your choice as to what you want to eat and very maturely explain that you are 16 years old and have decided to make a lifestyle change.  You are standing up for what you believe in and deciding how you want to live your life which is a part of growing up.  If they are worried about your health do more research on supplements that are available and show them that you know what you are doing and are doing it in a healthy way.  Make sure you completely explain your reasons for this change too.  Mine was the grotesque factory farming industry and health reasons as well.  I'm not sure what all of yours were, I'm guessing along those lines but either way once you thoroughly explain your thoughts, I don't see how they could keep you from it.  Hope that helps!  Good Luck!

Ok so it was this year and it's not really the harshest of things to say but it was more the person it came from that affected me.

I was talking to my ex boyfriend of almost 2yrs on the phone (its a long complicated story not gonna get into it but i was inlove with the kid and still deeply care for him) Anyways, we're talking and he was all bitter because i had a new boyfriend (who i'm still with btw) and so he was telling me that i'm not as pretty like i used to be and then he said "Your body structure isn't even the same anymore"  and i was like "What's that supposed to mean??" (knowing myself all too well what it meant, i needed to hear him say it)  and he said "Well.. you've grown a bit..."  Yea i was mortified.  I was already upset with my weight because i had gained quite a bit over christmas break.  The best thing is though last year i weighed 128lbs (while i was dating him) dropped down to 118lbs and when we had that conversation i was up to probably around 125lbs but i was still lighter than when we were together!!

But I'm trying really hard now to count calories and get down to the weight i wanted to be at all along (110lbs, I'm 5"1' btw).  I just want to show him so bad!!  Also being lighter than my current boyfriend would be amazing!  He tells me he loves how i look but i feel like a total cow next to him, i just want to curl up inside myself and seem as small as possible, ya know?  Anyways right now I'm at 123lbs on my 3rd day, well technically 4th day of dieting now because it's after 12am ha, but I'm feeling a lot better.

Good Luck to everyone and don't listen to what others say, misery loves company afterall.

wonderful. losing 10 lbs. doesn't make a difference i guess.....

Don't let those ignorant comments discourage you.  I know it's easier said than done but 10lbs is a great loss!  You're doing wonderful and you'll show them all soon enough.

Stay Strong! :)
