Foods How bad is sweet tea? Jun 30 2009

I am a Florida girl who grew up drinking sweet tea that was as sweet as syrup. When Im counting my calories I try to mix it with unsweet. If you are in a restaurant you can ask for half and half (half sweet half unsweet) that cuts your calories to closer to 50-60 cals a glass instead of 100-120. If you buy it in the grocery you can do the same. Buy one gallon of each and just mix them. Maybe try weening off of the sweet tea little by little until you tastes adjust to less sweetness.

Good luck to one sweet tea fan from another!Smile

Thank you all soooo much for all of the great responses. I am going to up my calories to closer to 1500 on my big work out days. I really appreciate the encouragement. I have always refrained from posting on a forum like this- not sure why- suppose I wasnt sure if anyone would respond. haha.

THANK YOU a million times!!! All great advice. And I am going to mix up my work out routine to keep my musles guessing.

Have a great weekend everyone!

I also find that it helps to add fiber. It keeps you feeling fuller longer- I like to have a brothy soup for lunch with a green salad and then add a couple tablespoons of beans to the soup to hold me over for longer. For a sweet at night a handful of dried apricots is good or a sugar free pudding.

If its close to your TOM then that could totally be playing into it. Hang in there!
