| Health & Support | Anybody know anything about cytomel? | Jul 09 2008 19:14 (UTC) |

I have been on both Cytomel and Synthroid for a couple of years now. Synthroid helps to keep your TSH level normal and Cytomel helps with the T4. It is important that you take the Synthroid first thing in the morning on an empty stomach with no other meds and then take the Cytomel a little later. It took a few months of taking both drugs for me to see a difference. The important thing about these meds is to work with your doctor to figure out what levels your body functions best with. For example a TSH can be 2.0 and still be considered normal but if mine is higher than .5 I gain weight, have the itchy skin, get really bitchy and sleep all the time, so I make the doctor tell me the actual blood levels and go with how my body is reacting to determine proper doses. Luckily for me I have found a great family doctor and an excellent endocrinologist to follow my hypothyroid dysfunction. I am glad it is working for you! |

| I did the measure thing I am 48 inches. I bought new pants today
because I just don't have any that fit. I cried in the fitting
room for 30 seconds, now I need to use this challenge to buy a smaller
size at the end of April! |
