I am scared of starvation mode because I was only eating 600 cals or less per day-barely any protein for many months. Let me know any tips to help me. I am 5'4" and 85 pounds. Sorry to butt in on anothers post. |

I am severely underweight and have been eating about a 300 cal breakfast and big dinner-then too full and bloated. I have been doing this for months and I am having my husband prepare my 3 meals and snacks-he places them in separate containers and labels.I just started this-I am nervous but I want curves again and too stop aching and being dizzy and weak. |

thank you for this. I am donating my tiny stuff to Goodwill and a teen program. I need to get my real figure back and buy a couple of new clothes to grow into-how unnatural when many people are trying to wear a smaller size. |

I get that now especially if I have bigger meals so now I do 6 small meals each day and it helps and protein also makes the body work harder. |

I love everyones replies. i am struggling to recover and gain but I have joined eda and aba phone support. I am 5'4" and 84 pounds. At 39 I look awful and miss my figure. I want to just live again. Tessa I watch your posts all the time and you inspire me. I have done this for 26 years and my body is retailiating now.I have quit taking diet pills and cut back my diuretics. I am trying to add different foods slowly and sometimes it is overwhelming. |

I have been a restrictive anorexic and trying to recover and I do the same thing-eat too fast and feel bloated and sometimes graze before I eat. |

You need to chill out. Your posts are rude and maybe some people are having a hard time-some human compassion helps and also yeah people do gain weight on less than 2500 cals and refeeding is dangerous and needs to be gradual. |

I get this all the time especially at dinner and my ribs hurt and stomach pokes out. I hate it because sometimes I get tempted not to eat-I wish there was relief from this. |

I have recovered before-actually my weight was 127-135 for 6 years but I also spit and chewed gum for 15 years-150 pieces a sitting-so I bet I can eat quite a bit. It all started as I got older-got cervical cancer and was told I could not have anymore children-I am married to a man 7 years younger and has none of his own kids. I think I was feeling guilt and my 17 year old son was getting in trouble and experimenting also financial problems and I went back to what I knew best control my food and weight.I know this is not the answer but that is how it all started again. Thanks Crissy-I need a push sometimes. |

Thanks-you are always so helpful. I have battled this for 26 years with 6 attempts at recovery and want to beat this for good. I hope I never ask any stupid questions along the way.I keep fluctuating between 87-91 pounds and my doctor locally was going to put me on lasix water pills-how stupid is that and my nutritionist who is frm an eating disorder center had my caloeies only at 1800 because of my age-39. This makes no sense. |

I am going through the same thing. I try to remember to chew at least 10 times each bite. I also stopped watching tv or get on the internet while I eat so I can focus. At firstI ate so fast I almost choked and it also takes time for the body to register the food so it is better to eat slower. I still get really swelled up but my body is recovering and I am still 25 pounds under weight. |

I agree. I admire The Girl's Next Door Bridgette, Rachel Hunter,Marie Osmond, Valerie Bertinelli-they have real curves like I had once. I was 5'4' 127 pounds with a size 34DD and now 89 pounds with loose skin everywhere.Yuck-I want to be a woman again. |

I need someone. I have had anorexia with ednos-s/c for 26 years. I have tried recovery now 6 times. I am frustrated because there are no support groups or real docs where I live. The one place 2 hours from me Avalon in Buffalo,NY my insurance will not cover.Is there a different way of contact-weight gain forum is not ideal really. thanks Diana |

This happens to me too. I try not to eat heavy amounts of food per sitting-also I had my electrolytes checked and ecocardiogram. Refeeding can be dangerous if you are recovering from an eating disorder.I started out slowly with increases. |

Thanks-all my tests came out good. My husband is cooking my veggies in vegetable oil and I am eating english muffins. I will be brave and I am eating homemade chicken pizza today. I will try to keep track of calories-I am so numbers oriented and no weighing for 2 weeks. |

I have an appointment in the next state for nutrition and my mom's psychiatrist will try to help me on a payment basis-although he does not specialize in eds-I guess it is a start. I have been keeping a journal of what I eat and calories but I have I am too obssessive when I do that so I am just going to eat and my husband is going to prepare my dinners-I can not cook very well. In the mean time I am trying to cut back on diuretics -every other day decreasing by 1.I can not wait to see how a normal body functions after all these years and I hope there is not too late for it to get repaired.I am also going to donate my size 0 jeans to teens in need program and not weigh myself for 2-3 weeks.Thanks again. |

No one should attack you. I think you are trying and that is great. You inspire me. I am 5'4" and 88-90 pounds and have been anorexic and ednos for 25 years with recovery 5 times. I am struggling now but I am adding new foods each day. Some people have a different view of what we should weigh. People say I should weigh 120-I do not think so and I have been there before. I have weighed from 68 pounds to 185 pounds. I want to educate myself about food and everyone says go to a nutritionist-I did and it costs too much and is not covered by insurance-maybe instead of some people telling us what to do -they should help push for more health coverage for eating disorders. I am very proud of you and at least you are eating and have a game plan. |

I have decided to go back to my docs for blood work again and not do the nutritionist -can not afford. I have never been explained any of this stuff before and I want my life back-I did it before. I just want to do it right and not get up to 185, 145,etc. like I did before because now I have really loose skin. I do not want to become bulimic because I really do have a big appetite and have been doing 3 larger meals.Any meal plans would help-I do not eat red meat or nuts. thank-I am glad to have found you guys-my first accidentally support was pro-anorexia site. I had never heard of them before-very scary. I deleted my account there.thanks |

I have been trying recovery for 5 weeks and yes I am experienced-I am not someone in their 20's or a teen who can eat massive amounts. My stats are 5'4" and 87-89 pounds it varies. My lowest weight was 68 pounds. During other recovery times my weight went up to 185, 148,etc. and I am trying to avoid this.I do not think I need to worry about refeeding-that is why the nutritionist was going slow and especially since this has been a 25 year battle. I was always thrown into psych wards who did not address eating disorders head on especially nutrition.I was even left alone to eat in these places-near a garbage can. If I had insurance for a real clinic I would go. |

I am going through the same thing-refeeding and my nutritionist has me at 1350 per day. Sometimes I lose a little or stay the same. I want to be one of those people who need to eat 2000-2500 to gain. |

Thank you-I just am trying to figure out what to eat. I do not eat red meat,pork ,nuts-I have neglected food groups for so long. I am trying to build up my body healthy-I have no muscle tone and loose skin. I hope it fills in again. |

I have a nutritionist and I have recovered 5 times before. I feel she is going too slow at 1350 intake. I have had this problem since 13-now 39. I know all the dangers-just never really learned how to eat. I was not sure if I should have counted alcohol toward my intake. |

I want to have your attitude. I have been battling this anorexia and ednos for 25 years now back to anorexia and 5'4" 87-89 pounds fluctuates. I am tired of this at 39 years old and I look gross with loose skin and no muscle tone-not like when I was younger and did this. I am scared of most food groups but I want my 34 dd back and before this last round I weighed 127-132 and I have been as high as 185 which scares me. |

The fda has said anything less than 5 cals per serving can be posted as 0 cals. Example Parkay spray butter says 0 but there are over 200 servings per bottle-multiply that by at least 3-4 cals ouch. |

thank you. I was wondering if I need mostly protein because I have muscle loss and hanging loose skin. I was mostly eating 22 cal rice cakes for months with 0 cal waldenfarms products. I want my curves again and just do not want to become a bulimic and gain up to 185 pounds like I have in the past with other ednos issues. |
