I 've always liked to cook, but since my new healthy, better life style I am making food that have alot more ingredients (veggies,spices) and no processed packaged foods. I make all kinds of healthy whole wheat organic muffins...great time of year for apple & pumpkin. I use applesauce to replace the fat and egg whites instead of the whole eggs. My husband loves them and mmmm the house smells so great. Basically we eat chicken & fish and I'm making all my own soups. Well ...I've have some garlic to roast for my twice baked potatoes. I've lost 30 lbs as well. I am cold all the time. I went to the store today and purchased 4 long sleeve fleece type tops. Last year I wore summer weight PJ's all winter (I live in the mountains) I'm glad to hear my body will adjust eventually. Great job that we have lost weight! At least we can layer without looking like the Pillsbury Dough Boy

I have done and continue to do the 30 day shred. I have lost 32 lbs since March. I also do Yoga for 20 mins. I walk 3-4 times a week(6 miles). I have a love/hate thing with the "Shred". I have to say I am pretty well toned. I started with 3 lb weights and now switch it with 5 & 8 lbs. When I don't feel 'really into it" I'll go back & do Level 1. Otherwise I alternate between 2-3. I started walking around the lake and my neighborhood in March. I walked past this house and once in awhile I would see this woman on her front deck. She would wave and say hello and I would respond. One day she said she wanted to ask me a question. I saw that she was overweight,like I was. she also had lost her job. We are now friends and she walks with me and is starting to eat healthy. So it's almost like "Paying It Forward" but with health. Anne

I'm in. I have lost 32 lbs since March 16. I just got a new job starting Tuesday, after being out of work since March 13th. I am starting to eat a few more cals, and still have at least 300 cal deficit. I'd like to be 125. So I'm happy to lose 10 lbs by Christmas. Good Luck To Us All. Anne |

Good For You!!! I watched the game on TV,so I didn't have the temptation. I am a Yankee fan...sorry they lost. BTW I have lost 32 lbs and have changed my life style. I now get so excited over the taste of a peach. Great luck on your healthy journey. |

I spent 2 weeks down the shore. I really enjoyed myself,wore a brand new bathing suit for the first time in years. Went swimming in the ocean and walked almost everyday along the beach. I ate great food, drank wine and even had ice cream twice. The thing was I ate slowly and didn't have all the extra's. Didn't miss them either. I gained 1 lb. I have been back for 2 weeks and have lost that 1 lb and 2 more. I'm a 1/4 pound away from a 30 lb lose. That's since March 16th. Yipee

Tonight is roasted chicken breast seasoned with Mrs. Dash & a bit of EVOO,brown rice with garlic, and a huge salad with roasted garlic dressing. I love garlic and it loves me. for my dessert it,s 2 oz of chocolate sorbet with low fat whipped cream. Now what's not to love? 2 lbs shy of 30 lbs lost and I love food now....Food is not the enemy Health To All |

You are doing great. I had also had a stent placed in my artery......when I was 46! Needless to say I only took the healthy life style for about 6 months. I am now 58 (on 6/18) I finally quit smoking in January. I lost my job in March and decided then that I better get healthy or I'll be heading for the Solent Green Factory I've lost 21 lbs as of today and like you I walk,walk,walk. I'm hoping to make 140 by the end of the month. I live in the Pocono Mts. in PA. No snow but it was 29 in the morning last Thursday. Still have my flannel sheets on the bed. So stay healthy and keep walking. |

I love the Exercise TV on demand. I always start with the 10 min AM Yoga, then Yoga Sculpt, then Shred or Boost Metabolism. In the evening if I feel the urge to munch I through on on of the 10 minute workouts or a dancing one. I also HATE to exercise but I can see such a difference now. I will always have to exercise so I am having a Yoga instructor teach me properly. That will be my gift to myself when I lose my next 10 lbs. I've lost 20 already and I can't get over how I look and feel. So everybody get up and MOVE!!!!! BTW I will be 58 in 2 weeks so this a very big change. I quit smoking in January as well. I took CleanseSmart for 30 days. 2 pills in the AM & 2 at night. The only thing it did was make my face breakout...even my eyelid. I have these little dry red patches on my face. The health store person told me some people do have this type of reaction. I'll never do it again.It's a complete waste of money! If I want to clean out my colon ...I'll eat prunes. |

I see myself in many of these posts. I know what you mean about painting toe nails. Since it's now sandal weather I painted mine the other day. WOW I bent right over without a thought. I did a really good job since I could see what I was doing. I love my new muscles! My arms are looking pretty good for an old lady. Think Al Pacino in Scareface..."Say hello to my little friends" Climbing up on my counter to clean the tops of the cabinets. I am able to move so easily, up,down, sideways. I sleep like a baby... |

hello, I'm like you. I must see my deficit each day. I have a calendar on my desktop that I input my toal calories and my calories burned. I do the math and log it in. I also put all my activities. I switch my routine daily(except for the yoga) so I won't get borded. I count down a .25 lb lose every day since I started logging the info in this way. I also weigh all my foods. I've lost 13 lbs so far and I really do eat all day. Once I lose 10 more lbs I will realx the weighing of the food. Good Luck On Your Journey Towards Health Anne |

I make chocolate pudding with 1 % milk or non fat milk. Not the sugar free either. I reduce the milk by about 4 tablespoons so it sets firmer. I put it in little pryrex cups that comes to 1/2 cup. Then I put on low fat reddi whip (not cool whip as that's nothing but chemicals) The whole deal is about 100 calories. It's so nice and creamy and it's made with real milk. I have this as my snack after dinner every other day. Anne |

I quit smoking on Jan 16th. I started feeling really good (breathing). I was over weight to start then gained 5 lbs. Lost my job on March 12th. Thought I will not be depressed and gain more weight. Now I will have the time to get healthy. Then my husband and I decided to rent a house for 2 weeks down the shore. We invited our daughter and our 2 grandchildren. I wanted to be able to run and play with them on beach. I have lost 10 lbs and I'm really motivated. I do yoga, 30 day shred, weights and walk 3 miles. I am really proud of myself. I WILL NOT GO BACK TO UNHEALTHY LIVING!!! Anne |

Please explain what you mean about eating more with your calorie expenditure. It's all basic.... calories in and calories out. You need to decrease 3500 calories to lose 1 lb. Anne |

I'm a Baby Boomer and both my parents worked. My Mom cooked every night,except Thursday when we went grocery shopping. I was outside playing until dinner. Did my homework and then went back outside until it was dark. In the winter we went to the pond and went ice skating. We went sleding until our clothes were frozen stiff. We had gym everyday in school and went outside and jumped double dutch until the bell rang. I ate a P&J ,apple, 3 Hydrox cookies , and 1/2 pint of milk EVERYDAY till 8th grade. Lunch was not what I looked forward to.....it was the playing after lunch. I didn't care what I ate as long as I could still go out and play. Kids today don't even have recess or gym because the schools are afraid of lawsuits. I am so happy I grew up when I did. |

Hi, This is what I do. I usually go to the same places for my meals. So I know what is on the menu. I just put in what the meals consists off say ...chicken , beans, rice, gravy, pasta. I have a food scale at home so I know what 3 oz of boneless chicken breast looks like. You can be off on the calories...it's only 1 day. Don't make yourself worry over it...you will start to resent eating healthy. Anne |

Good Morning, When I have to go out for a meal, I order my favorite and eat a little of everything I love. Ask to take the leftovers home and there's your meal for the next day. You get to enjoy it twice. Have a piece of fruit before you leave for your meal. Who's stronger you or the food.....hands down you are !!!!

Don't weigh yourself everyday. I find that when I weigh myself everyday I sometimes gain in a 48 hrs. weigh yourself once a week or at most every 5 days. Keep up the good work. I lost 3 lbs in a week and I am very happy. Don't forget to drink plenty of water and watch your sodium intake.
