The burn meter is a measure of how many calories your body burns just being alive, based on your age, gender, activity level, etc., but it's different for everyone. Some people have tricky metabolisms that the meter can't take into account. For most people, if you want to lose weight, it's best to keep the number of calories you eat about 500 or so below the amount you burn. |

Whenever I travel, I bring along protein bars, protein drinks and portable things like that. Then I just eat salads and add my own protein. Not the tastiest alternative, but it keeps me fed, at least. |

| Weight Loss | Eating post-workout | Apr 01 2009 21:52 (UTC) |

I read something about working out being a way to deal with binge hunger. Apparently, research says that after you work out, you are not hungry for up to three hours. But I think that eating protein right after a workout is how people try to build muscle. Either way, I don't think that the time of calorie consumption really matters, only the amount. Whether you eat before a workout or after, what really matters is that you don't over eat.

| Foods | Iron: Where can I find it and What does it do? | Apr 01 2009 16:02 (UTC) |

Iron can be found in most dark green leafy vegetables, tofu, beans, lentils, fish, poultry and red meat. I'm a vegetarian, so I get most of mine from veggies and tofu. It's a very important nutrient to have. It is involved in many different processes in the body like cell growth, oxygen transport, etc. It's also very important for girls (I don't know if you are a girl or not) to have because it helps them develop reproductive organs and keep those processes healthy. Sorry to be rambling on, but this was one of the few things I actually LEARNED in biology. :) |

I used to have a really bad problem with that. I'd eat when I was depressed or angry. The only way I could get over it was just sticking to my guns with diet and learning to deal with stress in a different way. I found that it was alright to just be sad and cry for a little bit and allow those feelings, rather than stifle the feelings with food. |

| Weight Loss | lose weight but not breast size | Mar 30 2009 17:05 (UTC) |

I don't really know, but I think it has something to do with where you gained weight first. I read somewhere that you lose weight first in the first place you gained it. So, by that theory, I suppose that if you gained weight in childhood and developed breasts later, it should be less of a problem. That was the case for me, and so far it has been true. I've lost about 25 pounds so far and my boobs haven't been affected, only the band size of my bra. I really don't have any idea tho, this could all be B.S. for all I know. |
