Then what should I do? Just give me a sample template and I'll see what I can do... I'm kinda hesitant of the food my college makes... |

Hehe, I was at the mall today and accidently grabbed a size 0 jean. I tried them on. I fit, but, LITERALLY, the only thing separating my hip bone from the jeans was a thin layer of skin. Plus I had a bit of a muffin top. I'm 5'1", 114 lbs, med frame. If I was dead set on fitting into those jeans, I would literally be a walking skeleton. Not healthy looking at ALL. Granted, I still have a little fat in the stomach and thighs, but I call it my "safety fat". x3 I'm really happy where I am now. Seriously re-evaluate your goal. And if you really want to see what it feels like, go to the mall and try a size 0 on. See if your hips can take it. |

God really likes to give me the nice and mentally unstable ones for my friends. My boyfriend's bipolar type II and has Asberger's. My ex-gf was panic attack-prone and spazztic... *sigh* Just send me one that's not mentally insane, please? I need a break! |

| Young Calorie Counters | ED & Parents | Jun 16 2009 21:49 (UTC) |

I told myself. My ED went on until about... nearing the end of April... Starting in March. I had a treadmill that told how many calories you burned while you walked. So, I became a slave to that number. I walked until I saw that that number match the calories I consumed that day. (Now I know that the treadmill is wrong and CC is right) When I figured out I had a ED, I wanted to tell my mom, so I wrote her a note and stuck it into one of her books on her bedside table. Apparently, she isn't too keen to the fine detail of a paper sticking out of a book, so I told it back and didn't tell her. I recovered in silence, eating 1200 calories a day at the minimum. Gained back 3 pounds, but I thought of it as just desserts for my ED. You can read most of it in a journal I made. x3 And like everyone else said, you NEED TO GO SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP. Please, if you value your life, you should. |

What I do is eat all the negative calorie foods I want. IE: Carrots, melon, canteloupe, strawberries, the like. (I usually eat these until I bloat up like a balloon, might be uncomfortable, but the scale number in the morning makes it all worth it. x3) And only a strict limit on the things you POSITIVELY CANNOT RESIST. For me, it's 5. Have fun! |

| Weight Loss | What have you learned from being overweight? The silver lining. | Jun 11 2009 23:55 (UTC) |
41 |
I've learned that the carbs that I consumed led to my overweight-ness. My entire diet before was nothing but carbs. Cereal, bagels, pancakes for breakfast. Sandwiches, mac and cheese, breadsticks for lunch, snacks were a handful of granola bars and fruit snacks. Dinner was the only meal I had any protein or veggies in it. And I never got full enough to stop eating. So I just kept eating. I rarely eat much carbs anymore, and frankly, they don't do it for me anymore. And I also learned how to read labels and know that they're lying like dogs. With my digital scale I have found that there is an average of 2 grams HEAVIER than what the serving size says. IE: Nilla reduced fat wafers are 130 calories per 30g (7 wafers). I weighed them out, and I found they actually weigh 32 g. 7 wafers weigh 32 g. NOT 30 g. So, we're actually consuming MORE calories per serving than what they say on the box. And since I'm a math whiz, I figured out a conversion from grams to calories. Take the Nilla wafers for example. There's 30 grams for every 130 calories, so how many calories are we actually eating? 32 grams / 30 grams = 1.0666666666 servings Now multiply that number by 130. 1.06666666666 x 130 = 138.66666666666 So, we're actually consuming 138.66666 calories instead of 130. x3 And it works in reverse, also. I use this when I want to figure out how much ice cream I can have to get to my calories for the day. x3 So the conversion is this: Grams you have / grams on box X calories on box = Calories you have. Or Calories you have (in my case, the calories I haven't eaten) / calories on box X grams on box = Grams you can eat. x3 YAY MATH! (I'mnotamathdorkwhatareyoutalkingabout!xDDD) Yeah, that's what I've learned. |

How was it different? Well, I definitely had a lot more processed stuff in there... Once I cut that out, it was easy. I rarely eat carbs much anymore, really. They don't really fill me up. I used to have two bagels for breakfast when I was younger, and that usually filled me up. But the 600-700 calories was not worth it. >< I rarely even have cereal anymore. ^^;; And for maintenance? Hmm... I'm gonna go on maintenance walks 3-4 times a week (30 minutes). I'm still gonna eat 1500 calories a day. 1700 is for maintenance, but I'd like to have that buffer just in case. x3 |

Original Post by chelsea0mai: Lots of fruit and running, that's for sure. x3 Breakfast: ~ 2 apples (Red delicious, granny smith, or golden delicious) Lunch: ~ Tossed salad of romaine, spinich and carrots (hand made!) (123-150 g) Dinner: ~ Pork, Chicken or Beef Snacks: (I usually don't eat snacks, but if I'm hungry...) ~ 1 cup baby carrots raw And if I have extra calories left over, I have a treat. Like ice cream or a cookie. That's my 1500 calorie diet for ya. x3 Workout: ~ 60 minutes cardio (usually running on the treadmill, but I got so bored recently with it I switched to swimming when I can)
I usually break the cardio up into 30 minute sessions on the treadmill, with the toning in the middle. There ya go. x3 |

With that amount of exercise, I think you need to eat MORE not less. Try closer to 1600-1700. Your metabolism is slowing down, and it needs more food. Good luck! |

You just broke a plateau, that's all. Your body was so used to your old routine, that it knew exactly what to do with the food that you were giving it. You basically just shocked your metabolism by doing something different, is all. x3 |

For a young girl your age, you need to consume 1500 calories MINIMUM. So up that a bit. Also, put fat back into your diet. Believe it or not, fat is actually brain food. Nuts and meats will suffice. Do some research to figure out how many grams of fat you're supposed to get, and good luck! |
