Hello everyone.
Well I weighed in at bl this morn. Sorry guys I only lost 1 lb. this week :(  I was hoping the water was gone but aparently not yet! A pound is a loss anyway. The thing is when I first started losing it came off fairly quickly, now one lb?! Am I gonna do this a couple of weeks then  nothing ?! It's so frustrating  sometimes. It's like I want it gone  now!! Just needed to vent. Sorry. I'm done whining now.
I have changed my workout a lil. I was getting bored with it. Now I'm doing 2 days Taebo then one day Pilates then 2 more Taebo rest and repeat. Walking everyday I can when the weather permits, and windmills everyday but rest day. Also on pilate day I do jumping jacks & squats. I put the pilates in a few days ago when I didn't feel up to Taebo. I read  some of you guys mention doing them and I remembered a dvd I bought a few years ago called 10 minute Solution Pilates.  It works spot areas, I do buns and thighs and sculpting for shoulders and arms. I had forgot how good they make you feel! Have a good one guys...      &n bsp;        ;       &n bsp; Pam

Hey everyone. How are yall doing today? We live in South Alabama and it s been cool here too and rainy , its been pouring buckets for days! I haven't been able to get out and walk like I want to because of the rain, so I've been walking in spurts around it .LOL  It was so cool this morning that my son wore a jacket to school, can you believe that?! A jacket in mid May in South Ala., that's  just about unheard of.
Maggie thank you again for your encouragement. I was lmao after your last comment.Yeah honey! I'm frum the countreee and proud of it .LOL By the way I was raised in Louisiana and have been to dfw area a few times, we're taking my son to six flags this summer. Our plan is go over to New Orleans take him to The Audobon zoo and Aquarium of Americas up through La, visit with family, over to Tex., maybe to Tyler Zoo, and Ripleys Museum, and his main wanna do: Six Flags. It should be fun.
I put in a serious Taebo workout this morn. Real good and sweaty!! I'm determined to work off this extra water I've been toting for a week! Have a good day everone.    Pam

Maggie, thank you for your encouragement. Your absolutely right. I think the nose ring and drums are awesome. I've been thinking of getting a tattoo ,I thought about barbed wire around my ankle but  I'm not really a barbed wire kinda girl so I'm thinking a chain of daisies around my ankle instead. I told my  daughter that I wanted to and she looked at me like I was nuts. The same as when I bought the taebo. :D! To answer your question about my writing It depends on the stage in my life I think. When my daughter was little I wrote a childrens book, later when we owned a greenhouse I had to do some serious research about plants and I got really frustrated because I couldn't find all the info I needed in one place so I started compiling stuff and decided to write a book for my personal use where everything is in one place. Ive started several novels. In recent years Ive been playing with the idea about writing a book about the South I grew up in , not the mint Julip drinking, Cotillion going kind , that was not my experience, mine was more the sweet tea drinking, Sunday visiting, front porch sitting , turnip green eating, hoeing the sweet taters beside my beloved grandpa , who I thought hung the moon kind!  Pam

Maggie, 50's are not old. The closer I get to the 50 mark the younger it seems. Laughing . I'm 45 and will be 46 in 5 mo. as for your question about what we do, I am an aspiring writer, meaning I write but have never had the courage to try to have anything published. I keep asking myself what I'm waiting for .Answer: I don't know since the worst that could happen would be a rejection letter or 10 .LOL . Someday I'll try. Right now I'm working on a cookbook for my daughter. It's a collection of family recipes from our family and her husbands. Yes, she's married.  She's 18, will be 19 in July.  The last year has been full of changes and challenges. Liz, our daughter turned 18, graduated High school and married her High School sweetheart. He joined the marines right out of school and they didn't want to wait. So, after he finished boot in Oct. they got married, eloped actually. Although My husband and I didn't totally agree with their decision, we thought they should wait, we also didn't want to lose our daughter so we stood by them and we respect their right to make their own decision for themselves. hey guys. I just read over what I'd wrote this morn. Besides the many gramatical errors (hey it was early!) I also did not mean to say he replaced the motor .He actually replaced the fan that cools the motor. Was having a duh moment. Sorry. Stone, you've been on my mind ever since I read what you wrote yesterday.I truly hope you're having a better day today. Maggie was right about music. It can soothe the soul. From your posts you sound like a very strong, capable person. You can get through this. In the mean time, until you find your footing again, step away from the doritoes! LOL I've had times that literally knocked me to my knees, asking God to help me get through . I've heard and read that He doesn't put more on us than what  we can  bear , I was like Dear Lord I'm there! I'm at my breaking point. But I did not break, I may bend but I don't break. And neither will you.
Have a Good Day everyone

Goood morning everyone! Wow what a lively funny discussion. When I read the term mountain oysters I knew what yall were talking about. MyFather in law tricked me into trying them right after My hubby and  I got married (25 yrs ago)I have to say they werent bad. But the idea of it ...eww has kept from (knowingly trying them agin) He also slid some alligator into a stew one time too. Im always cautious  about his cooking unless I've seen him prepare it. My computers been breaking down all week. I guess we'll have to break down a git a knew one. It just goes off , yesterday its while I was mid typing. My hubby says  the motor is overheating. He replaced the motor once already. oh well..

I bought a new scale a few days ago. I debated over digi or reg. Digi won. because that .8 does matter and I decided to look at the extra expense of it as a investment into the new & improved me I'm becoming.  Pam

Dont let your scale read get you down. I personally only read mine first thing in the morningtime. I dont know if it makes a difference but it makes me feel better!! LOL . It probably is just water. I had a digital scale that was great for about a year. Then it went kaplooey. I recently bought a new one its just the old fashioned kind. I like it okay except it doesn't give ounces like the digital one and my eyesight isn't as good as it use to be so I have a tough time reading it. I get my husband or son to read it for me LOL I am gonna get another one with bigger lines that maybe I can see it easier. And I use to only weigh once a week too (on Thursdays) but since I started doing BL I've started weighing on Tuesday for BL and Thursday for cc weigh in. I've been meaning to ask you about your walking: Do you walk all 80 min (That's great)at one time or stretched through the day? My goal for this week was to get my walking up to 60 min. I've been doing that everyday but not all at one time.

Good morning everyone. Amanda, I wanted to tell you that I too have been praying  , asking God to help me to stay motivated , to help me with self discipline and to guide me . I know that I can not do this alone .

Last night we had pizza for supper too and after eating one small piece I picked up another , but after seeing the grease dripping from it I told my husband "This is not going in my body" and I didn't eat it. He did! I've been trying to get him to join cc with me because he could stand to lose a few, but so far no go. By the way it had no veggies on it,  it was dripy greasy pepperoni. He might go for veggie but my son wouldn't. So, next time I'll just order a salad. My son needs the extra cal. because he's actually small for his age. He's such a picky eater!! We order pizza about once or twice a month too.

cfeldt- My son has a Wii and we were gonna get him Wii fit for Christmas [this past] but it was sold out everwhere we looked , now I know why! It sounds great. We'll have to look again. He has a Birthday coming up :] Maybe we'll move the system out of his bedroom and into the livingroom  and have a family Wii night I've played some of his games with him and they are alot of fun.

I didn't post too much yesterday because I wasn't feeling well. I ended up eating more than I realized. I usually stay between 1200 and 1350 a day {I even have trouble sometimes getting up to 1200} but not yesterday Whew! I went over 1500! But it was mostly healthy so... I did have one step  away from the Doritoes moment. I wanted them bad!! But I ate a banana instead. Not that the same salty goodness but still Laughing

I also wanted to add  my compliments to Maggie too. You are doing a great job as team leader.   Pam (edited out weird space letters that came up)

Hey everyone. Congrats  Amanda very nice! About the question earlier about Kettle weights, I hate to sound dumb but what are kettle weights?Embarassed. The exercise I do is the one on page 211 of the May issue of Glam. mag. Heres what is says: Get a flatter stomach with "The Windmill" amove from celeb fitness trainer Lacey Stone that works better than crunches. Lie on your back with your arms out to the sides in a T shape. Lifting legs, bend knees 90 degrees so shins are parallel to the floor. Slowely lower legs to the right, return to center, then lower to left tapping the ground on each side. That's one rep. Do three 3 sets of 20 reps 3 times a week; combine with healthy eating and you'll see results." Basically it's like your sitting on a chair with the floor as the back. This exercise works your muscles good.I'll have to check out the link you put up.(I'm curious).

Good morning everyone
I  posted my weight onto BL site for this week. 146.I was a lil worried because When I woke up this morn Mother nature had given me her bad timinged gift to me. UGH I was afraid of water gain. So as soon as I got up and peed I weighed. Two lbs still gone.whew! I'm proud of myself because after I got my son off to school this morn instead of curling up in a ball on the sofa like I wanted because of cramps I worked out , ok. not for as long as normal and I skipped windmills but still it was a workout. And now that I'm feeling better I'm gonna go for my walk in a few min.So, how is yall's day going?

I think the reason her comment got to me so much is because last year I decided to lose weight  right before vacation time, had actually lost a few lbs. We went to my inlaws for vacation. They were not supportive of me losing weight. They are all overweight too. Instead of listening to myself I listened to them. I'm not blaming them for me eating all that fried chicken and homemade gravy and bicuits they offered. (Were from the south and you know how good and fattening southern cooking can be) I'm the one who ate it and kept on eating it. I think each person has to decide for themselves if theyre ready  to lose weight (if theyre overweight) I dont think I was then. Thats why I didnt. Now I'm ready and I think thats the difference between now and then and why I will not only take it off but keep it off once I do. That and I'm making better  habits Im thinking of it as a lifestyle change not just a quick fix. {Your Grandma reminds me of my motherinlaw by the way.} I think some people, others in my family, want you to stay the same and feel somehow threatened by change. By the way were going on vacation late July this year. By then hopefully I'll be strong enough to resist. Oh, and I'm 5ft. 1.

welcome Cam and Jo
Today I did my taebo , hating  it today but loving how I felt afterwards. I took a walk a lil while ago and ran into a well meaning neighbor I hadn't seen for a while. She gave me a lovely complement about that she could tell Ive lost weight When I told her how much I have to go (I want to lose a total of 50 Ive lost 16 since starting dieting March 1. As of today 2 lbs this week .Yeah)She said oh no not at your age. Dont lose more than 10 more lbs. Well, i'm sorry but I dont feel good or attractive at this weight . I may adjust my total the closer I get to reaching it, but for now I'm going for it. I'm tired of feeling like a frump. Just because I'm 45 doent mean I have to feel and look like one. My rant is over thanks for listening. (LOL)

Happy mothers day to every one! I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions about adding foods that are good for you like at the end of the day when you realize your calories are under for the day. Yesterday was a good example my cals were coming in under 1200 which I knew wasnt good (actuallly they were around 1100) and so I did something stupid : I drank a dr. pepper . I have been trying really hard to break my soda habit but sometimes it gets me. It's my sugar foe (lol) for some people its  brownies or ice cream mine is sodas. (although ice cream comes a close second) I usually stay under my cal for the day but not always in the healthiest way. That is one of my main goals , to get healthier.I ve been tryng to change my life by exercising and eating better and I guess my daughter noticed. I got an early mothers day present from my daughter a week ago when she told me she's really proud of me.Surprised It meant the world to me!!

Question: What type of exercise are you doing this week and how often are you exercising?

I talk to my exercise dvd too ! I do Billy Blanks Taebo Amped with a 3 lb. weight bar and when he yells The floor is hot  I usually say something like "aargh " or egually intelligent. When I first started it when I'd had enough I'd say Take that billy and turn off the dvd . I do Billy Blanks Jump start Cardio  day one then Core express  Then back to Jump Start .Rest a day and repeat. I'm also a walker. I walk everyday about 40 min.I also do a exercise I read about in Glamour mag. called the windmill. It's for your abs. Man does it hurt but it works. I do it right after Billy while I'm still warmed up. Then I cool down. It guaranteed results and it has delivered them, I've lost 3 inches from my waist since starting it 3 weeks ago. This week I'm going to try for 60 min. walking and Try 4 days between rests.

I absolutely agree with Gi-Jane. I joined cal. counters back in March but I didn't really get into the forums until last Sat. I wish I'd checked them out sooner. There is so much to offer here that will help you to stay motivated and to help you on your journey. Check out the games and challenges. One of my fav. because it sounds really fun is The Biggest loser. Today is the last day to weigh in on it to begin at the beginning. Good luck to you.

It is so funny that this should be in my email today because just yesterday i had a karma moment! First I want to say that I am on a low fat low cal. diet for health reasons and to lose weight. its very important to watch my fat intake. Last night my family and I decided to eat at Burger King for supper and I was thinking " Ive been eating good all day and it really is cheaper to eat a burger", rationalizing right?! so I got a burger and side salad instead of fries and even took the burger apart  and just ate the meat after smooshing it to get the grease out. feeling so proud of myself on our way home I told my husband I deserve something sweet after all I denied myself those extra cal. so we stopped at the grocery store to get something decadent (I was thinking ben and jerrys)but the more I looked and read the cal. and fat counts I started getting Major indigestion. By the the time I left the store I felt really nauseous so I just grabbed my usual no sugar added low fat fudgecicles and left.  I think that was the Good Lords way of popping me one as a warning because I've rationalized a couple times lately.
