| Young Calorie Counters | People 5'4"-5'6" what size are you? | Jun 16 2009 19:06 (UTC) |

In pants? I'm pretty sure I'm a 9, though I wear a small/medium on top, because I've got a massive badonkadonk as my boyfriend kindly points out. I'm 5'6" and weigh 140-145 lbs. That's how people of the same height and weight can fit into different sizes; they might be all muscle, so smaller all around, or they could just gain weight in their chest/stomach before they gain it in their hips/thighs. |

1. Eating shrimp and lobster is an abomination. Having sex with a woman on her period is an abomination. Talking back to your parents, planting different types of seeds in the same field, and cotton-polyester blend clothing is an abomination, while owning slaves is just dandy. There are A LOT of things that are supposedly "abominations" in the Bible, specifically the book of Leviticus, which just gets weird at some parts. Those animals made people sick back then because they had no proper way to clean them, having gay children meant no grandchildren and an end to the family name, and STDs are much easier to transfer when the woman is menstruating. None of those are problems anymore. You can't read the Bible without making interpretations, or we would never progress from the time period it was written in. The passing of time demands it. 2. So don't have gay sex. Are you going to insist it's moral for people to lie to spouses/boyfriends/girlfriends they'll never love in the way they deserve? People don't stop being gay, it's not a choice, it's been proven scientifically by straight geneticists with nothing to gain. Actually the more sons you have, the more likely it is the next will be gay, which is pretty interesting. Hating yourself for something you can't change, something that's decided for you in the end, is the most destructive thing you can do. And a God who preaches love and equality among all his children would never demand that. 3. Anything that didn't come from Jesus directly I have a hard time believing. Maybe I'm a bad Christian, or not a Christian at all, but that's how I feel.
P.S. Dieting is unnatural, meaning if you're on here chances are you were guilty of gluttony at some point. At least being gay isn't one of the 7 deadly sins. |

| Weight Loss | I have a physical addiction to peanut butter! | Jun 15 2009 10:48 (UTC) |

Here's what I did when I found myself about to binge on anything.
It's much, MUCH easier to control yourself to that extent. Even if you do wind up eating a few extra calories now, it's well worth it if this food stops being "forbidden" and having all of those emotional attachments on it. I mean it's just peanut butter, it's not something to be afraid of. It's something to spread on toast. |

She included whole grains in her diet, however. Unless that was an edit after GI Jane's post. Other than that, her diet sounds perfect and totally balanced. Yes, I'd suggest some exercise, but you seem to know about that already. I'd say something like almonds or a meat of some kind for a snack, since fruit tends to make me hungry a short while later. I'm sensitive to sugar, though, so take that with a grain of salt. I have no idea how much you're going to lose--it all really comes down to how much you eat of it all. Since you're nowhere near overweight, still young, and always hungry, chances are you're just growing. I wouldn't advise dropping calories too much. Like Jane said, just swapping out for healthy foods should be enough to give you the body you want, have you feel totally healthy and make you a lovely, sparkly young lady. I envy SO FREAKING MUCH how easy this sounds like it's going to be for you DX |

Eh, I'm happier now than I was when I was bigger, but I had to cheer up to lose the weight in the first place. I think most of the people here just have it backwards. |

I love the forgiveness. But here's most of what I don't like about it: "When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realized God doesn't work that way, so I stole one and prayed for forgiveness." It's when people try to find loopholes in a place where you just can't. You know what the book means by forgiveness and repentance. You can't just burn down a village of women and children, then look to the sky and go "Whoops, sorry about that" and have everything be hunky-dory. If you don't actually grasp the gravity of what you've done, internalize it, and live that realization as best you can, it doesn't mean anything. Honestly I think it all comes down to trying to live the right way (the details are fuzzy to me, though, but that's another debate all together. Plus, as Christopher Moore says, "Bacon.") meaning with respect for everyone and everything around you as a part of the same larger entity, which here we call God. I think you can see how new scientific discoveries fit into it if you look at it with an open mind, too. My biggest problem has always been heaven and hell. First of all, with the limitless amounts of love and forgiveness it preaches, why would *God* *damn* people to eternal torture just for not understanding? I understand that sin exists because free will exists, but why should one person spend eternity in paradise and the other in suffering when they're both equal? And what if the person recieved the same teachings in the bible from another source; There is only one way to salvation, and any other is wrong? It's not their fault, then. Or do they just have to recognize a sin as a sin to be saved? There's a lot I still don't understand, even after being raised Christian. |

I did that diet, lost about 10 lbs., and just like everyone warns you gained it back. It did, however, teach me that all the carbs I've been eating were what was keeping me so hungry. I can feel a really distinct crash even after eating fruit these days. It was a little too extreme for me, but now that I'm on the much less intense South Beach I'm FINALLY seeing results. I really don't know if it's thermogenesis that's doing it, I think it's just because I'm not hungry for once. Plus half of my family has sugar problems, so that's no small part of why it worked for me. Not to mention my mood improved, and that 4 pm "I'm so hungry I could eat the entire vending machine" sensation was gone completely. Which makes sense; you're eating meat, fat, and fiber, you can't get much lower GI. |

Also, when you set your burn to sedentary, that's above your BMR. CC gives me a sedentary burn of 1800, but I have a BMR of 1500 which I found on a different site. So as long as you keep above your BMR, the calories you need while just lounging around the house all day should be the same, and that's safe to eat below. |

I remember realizing I was attracted to girls when I was about 12, but raised christian and all, I wound up self-hating and obsessed over guys I would've only been slightly attracted to, because dammit I was NOT going to be gay. These days I'm smitten with both equally, so a lot of good that did me. Looking back it might have been better to have just been honest with myself (or anyone really) like that girl was. Maybe nothing as dramatic as "coming out" at that age, though. |

Iga Wyrwal, 5'5" and Polish, just like me. Although I'm not a nude model and I don't have E cups, neither of which I really regret. No, she doesn't exist, but something Lara Croft-esque would be my ideal. Mostly to cosplay as her at some point. |

All right, I can understand that. Heck my hip bones start showing at a BMI of 22. But my problem here is that she started at a healthy weight, she's now underweight, and her goal weight is dangerously underweight. She should be either gaining or at the very least maintaining rather than trying to lose even more, and maintaining if she had started fairly thin. Can you honestly say this isn't a problem? |

Tempura. Every time it's made in front of me I can't help but have a piece, but it's so darn salty and fatty I forget why I wanted it in the first place. |
