Hey ladies!

School started back and I've been absolutley swamped. Labor day is just around the corner. How are you doing?

On Memorial Day I weighed 158.6 and the last time I weighed I was at 133.6. I need to lose 4.6 more pounds to  make my goal. Even if I lose a little less than 30 pounds, I'm still very happy that I've lost weight and developed better habbits to keep it off.

Thanks for the encouragement, cteene!
I am sorry to hear that you reinjured your knee. I feel your pain. I had knee surgury in January, and although I have returned to an active lifestyle, I am still a bit protective.  On the trampoline last night my daughter was trying to get me to try a new trick but I just couldn't risk it.

Speaking of an active lifestyle, my daughter is getting certified for scuba diving before our trip to Destin Florida in August. I've been certified since 1993, but she was signed up in this class with three boys and no other girls. So, I'm auditing the class with her! I started on the 7th and I'll be getting quite a bit of extra exercise for the rest of the month!

I'm back on track - 14 pounds in 7 weeks! Here are my stats:

SW 158.6 (Memorial day)
LW 148.8
CW 144.6
GW 129 (Labor Day)
FGW 115

I'm so happy!!! 10.2 pounds in five weeks! I know I need to step up my efforts a little because I got off to a quick start and then stalled a little and lately I've been losing less than two pounds per week.

So this week, I'm going to pull out all of the stops - like a boot camp. I'm going to log everything too. Hopefully I can give my metabolism a little jumpstart.

musicalfishmich, you can bet I'm going to increase my cardio. Thanks for the tip!

Pam (solemnleaf2), My weightloss hasn't been very even either. But, I'm determined to keep it up so that I will not be too self-conscious in Destin. It must be amazing to live only an hour and a half away from there. I hope kjeremiason is having fun in in the state that you,  musicalfishmich, and kaydawson69 call home!

Have a great week everyone!

darcyskywolfe,
I love reading your goals! They are very inspiring. I do have some rewarding things to look forward to. I am trying to lose weight before they come up.
The first one is a trip to Destin Florida in August. I would like to be somewhere near 130 for that.
The second one is the shopping spree that my husband promised me as a graduation gift for my Master's degree. I graduated in May, but I told him I would have to be down to my normal size before I spend that kind of money on clothes. So, I am DREAMING of being around 125 by the end of August because we have a sales-tax-free weekend in Texas with a lot of HUGE sales.
After that, I want to lose the last 10 pounds more slowly and try to start 2010 at the bottom of my target range.

musicalfish,
How do you do it? Those last few pounds can be really tough to lose and you just keep losing week after week. That is fantastic! Please share your secrets!

Pam (solemnleaf2),
That is just perfect! You lost 2 pounds which is very quck but still healthy. Do you have any secrets to share?

cteene,
I am so happy that you can give up your walker! Please be careful because a fall could really set you back. I had knee surgery in January, and I remember how happy I was to be able to get around without help. Congrats!

akasharaine,
Only 11 pounds to onederland! You are doing great! Keep it up.

I had a rough week!I tried my HARDEST but only lost 4 tenths of a pound.

Considering that I had to make an unplanned trip out of town and stay with my in-laws, I guess I should be happy. My mother-in-law is a wonderful cook who has a huge sweet tooth and just doesn't understand what healthy food is. Her idea of diet food is using sugar free pudding mix (along with regular Eagle Brand milk and heavy whipping cream) to make a banana pudding. LOL, at least she had good intentions.

I'm hoping for a swoosh this week to make up for last week. The problem is that I have to go out of town for a leadership thing for my local reading council.  I'm definitely planning ahead this time!

LW 152.8
CW 152.4

Thanks for posting kjeremiason, akasharaine, and scalebeater!

I have noticed that some of us beat ourselves up when the scales don't cooperate. Cry Please be kind to yourself. You are taking on a very admirable and difficult task. If you are taking better care of yourself because of your commitment, then you are SUCCESSFUL!!!

This thread is not so much about how much weight we can lose in each week as it is about commitment and support.

Best wishes to all. You Rock!

Cteene, I'm not sure of Dr. Cooper's first name, but that book sounds very interesting. I'll have to check it out! I'm back home now, feeling refreshed. I execised a lot! I wonder if that will be good or bad for my weigh-in in the morning???? I guess we will see...

I can't wait to hear how everyone is doing in the morning. I will be sure to post our total for the whole group.Smile

It's been a challenge for me too. But right now, I'm at the Cooper clinic Guest lodge in Dallas. My husband is haveing a complete, full day check-up. I'm sure he will be more health conscious after that!

Meanwhile, this place is fabulous! Dr. Cooper is the "father of aerobics"  so every thing is geared toward being health conscious and I'm STILL having a great time, lol! I think it is helping me understand that a good time does not have to equate to over-eating. Even the continental breakfast was healthy. But I haven't put a single "yucky" thing in my mouth this whole trip.

I wish y'all could all be here, walking/jogging on the beautiful padded track surrounded by big trees and ponds, exercising in the health club that comes with the room, swimming with my daughter, and enjoying the fresh fruit that seems to be offered everywhere. So refreshing!

Best wishes to all! I'will be checking back in soon.

Thanks so much becca0234! It is so kind of you to share and your timing is perfect with our weigh-in comming up on Monday.

Thanks solemleaf2 for keeping us on track. The Monday weigh-in helps keep me on track during the weekends too.

Everyone keep up the good work. Be thinking of all of the things you've done right this week. When you weight-in, be sure to include something positive about how you took care of your health and a focus for the next week. "Talk" to ya' soon.

Great to have you here goaltogo, stanselgirl, brittneyscott, hottiegirl870, and
melicious15!

We are off to a great start. I hope everyone had a nice long weekend.

I am happy to see we have people who are near goal as well as those of us to have further to go. If you have a great tip, please share. Or, if you have a question or concern about your plan, put it out to the group. There are 28 of us, so we should be able to offer several unique perspectives.

Remember weigh in will be on Monday, so be good to your body and hopefully the scales will be good to you!

Weight Loss what do you think about weight watchers?? May 26 2009
03:56 (UTC)

I am a lifetime member of weight watchers, but here I am on CC. I was a great program for me. I lost the weight just fine but I gained it all back after I stopped counting points.

The problem I have now is that if a liftime member is overweight, they have to pay $11 for the weigh-in. So, when I gained a few pounds, I thought I would go back when I had lost weight so I wouldn't have to pay. Ooops! Not going to the weigh-ins only led to more weight gain:(

I have seen the new ads. I am tempted to go pay $11 to find out what is different now.

Glad to have you join us cteene, ladychach, indigo360, lafoutloud01, scalebeater, kaydawson69, and mooseleggs!

We sure have a lot of different reasons for being here (I wish mine were Hawaii), and we come in a lot of different shapes and sizes, but we are all here to help each other get healthier. It's going to be a great summer.

Congrats to every one who stuck to their plan for the day!

I am through eating for the day (I hope). I was able to stick to my plan, but I'm already feeling a little hungry.

I checked out the 12 week plan that baylily suggested. It looks very comprehensive.  Here is that link again:
