Original Post by ladyduece: I agree with a bunch of what you said that after a certain age its not as big a deal and that younger ones should be watched more that was more my point to this whole thing that these kids are tiny anyone can come in here on one side is a parking lot and the other side the river so yes i think these kids should have a parent with them, unless they are older and know and follow rules. as for the vandalism its more like broken car windows and paintballing the building ripping the exit signs out and the emergency lights in the hall for when the power goes out. tagging and graffiti is nothing in comparison to the actual dammage they do. |

Original Post by dnrothx: the way the building is made from my balcony i can see through their windows if i look and this one little girl that is out there everyday i know they dont watch her because if the little girl wants to talk to them she has to walk into the appartment and go find mom or dad (they live pretty close to me and this little girl yells alot) one time they didnt notice her walking all the way to the parking lot until she was already there and this courtyard really is huge and that was a long distance for a kid that small, i think the only reason she noticed was she probably couldnt hear her or decided to look and she was gone. |

i get being busy and all that but some of these kids are like 4 years old or younger and they are out there alone i think thats what i have a harder time understanding after a certain age they understand "stranger danger" a bit better but at that age shouldnt someone be there? |

I think alot of people have gone trough the same thing at some point in time or another it took me about 2 months to get to that point and it sucked i felt like i was failing at everything not just my weight loss i still counted but i did go over but once i realized what i was doing i spent some time to get my mind back together. i relaxed read a book and wrote about it all in my food journal and now im back feeling like i want to count and excersise. it really does such especially when you enjoy excersising and then dont do it and cant understand why. losing weight is not going to be easy the whole time some days youll just want to stop and relax everything and stop thinking and others youll be super happy doing all of it, no matter how much you know it will take time you will have days that youll just want it all gone but stay with it youll do great youll feel awsome and you wont regret all the effort you put into it. good luck on your journey! |

if you look at the tools on CC you should be able to see that there is an excersise section and if you click on it you wil find all types of thing and excersises some even for thighs specifically. The only reason people get so mad that young people, barely teenagers, are trying to lose weight is because there are way to many kids with eating disorders and they listen to other dumb kids about how teenagers should look. just make sure if you are going to excersise you are eating the proper ammount of food and not starving yourself. staying active is healthy but not if you arent getting the nutrition your body needs. just keep your health in mind and not what you see in the mirror |

| Weight Loss | My issue with water..is this normal? | May 18 2009 17:08 (UTC) |
|
i used to drink lots of water then i stopped when i started agin i did the same thing i would drink a glass of water while watching a movie and would go to the bathroom 4 times before it was over what i noticed was if i kept drinking water this would slow down after a few days until things would go back to normal. I read somewhere that when you dont get enough water your body stores it and when you start drinking the water your body needs it gets rid of the water you stored |

i see what your saying but i think if we look at it as a place to vent our frustrations and understand that we have to do more about it than complain it should be ok for me it was nice to know im not the only one, no one around me would understand and i usualy feel foolish fixing my pants all the time. |

I feel the same, i always have to adjust my pants or shirt when i sit there is no comfortable place to but my waist band and really it just makes me think hey its slowly going away i have already lost enough to be able to get rid of my big jeans that were wearing out between the legs ( just in time i didnt want to go shopping). people sometimes think im pregnant because i am shaped like im about 5 months along, that wouldnt be so bad if i actually was. But yeah i cant wait for my tummy to be gone or at least not sooo big. |

| Weight Loss | Eating more to lose does work! How I lost on vacation..... | Apr 25 2009 06:03 (UTC) |
|
I think the only reason i have stuck with counting is because i think of it as eating to loose weight. i notice that if i eat too little my weight may go down but it will go back up again if i eat around the same everyday (which seems like alot sometimes) it goes down pretty steadily. |

| Weight Loss | Has anyone lost weight without working out? | Apr 25 2009 05:37 (UTC) |

i have been counting for a month today and have lost 7.8 lbs and really dont "exercise" at all. I dont drive so if i want to go somewhere i walk but other than that nothing really and i have always walked everywhere so its nothing new to my body. now im 5'10 and i now weigh 238 lbs so i have more to loose than you and it may come off me a bit faster at first but yeah drink lots'o'water and keep counting, just make sure you are getting enough calories i eat about 2100 a day i usually dont get to 2100 but thats my goal each day. i burn around 2600 a day so i have a 500 defecit. I love to exercise but i have found that my back and neck hurt more when i do so i wanted to loose some weight first then start getting into it (i have had back problems my whole life, even being thin). You could totally do it. |

| Weight Loss | Low calorie candy/snack substitutes! | Apr 25 2009 05:28 (UTC) |

maybe try eating sweet fruits or plan a time to have a snack find something low calorie (or high but watch your portion) and sit down eat it and enjoy it maybe if you take the time to pay attention to eating the treats youll crave them less. I could probably eat a whole pizza if i really wanted to but when i pay attention to how it tastes, the texture, all that i feel full faster. other than that all i can say is will power. |

| Weight Loss | Does eating less than 1000 calories a day hurt you more than eating more than your target calorie. | Apr 23 2009 03:26 (UTC) |
|
The way i have looked at getting the calories i need in a day is thinking that im eating to loose weight on a day that maybe im busy and dont slow down all day and forget or i just dont feel like anything i have in my house to eat or just dont want to eat at all i try to remind myself that to make sure my weight loss keeps going and i stay healthy that i need to find something to eat. I have my own issues around my weight and my self esteem but i have always been concious of my habits as far as making sure i am eating enough and as healthy as i can on a budget and with a somewhat picky family. everytime you think you feel full concider what you ate and how many calories it was then think of how many you need if you didnt eat enough push a little, your mind could be fighting your body. |

| Foods | Is it okay to... | Apr 17 2009 06:42 (UTC) |

when i first started counting my calories i was still craving oreos so i fit it into my daily intake and i was still loosing weight so i assume by cutting my portion and making sure i saved room for my snack, my treats were ok (i know they are not the best for me but oh well) and now i actually dont eat them half as much as i used to. just because you want to loose weight dosnt mean you cant enjoy something just make sure your concious of the decision to eat whatever it is and your more likely NOT to binge on it. |

| Weight Loss | To buy or Not to buy...... | Apr 14 2009 18:19 (UTC) |

I recently bought a Health o Meter digital scale and it works great if I step on it 3 times the weight is the same each time. It also calibrates its self and wont display a weight until you stop moving around there is no fat% but it has been pretty acurate and reliable so far. I lost 8 lbs when the moment I stepped on it, the scale I had before was like yours and I thought I was heavier than I really am, I think it is money well spent. |

| Weight Loss | What are they feeding their kids? | Apr 14 2009 03:33 (UTC) |

I think im lucky my son eats healthy food and likes it he asks for an apple over chocolate and would rather eat veggies than a burger, he is 5, i know it has to do with me feeding him this stuff but we dont cut out all the bad food we just taught him that its something to have as a snack not as a meal. I do pretty good most of the time eating healthy foods but my problem was portion control. I have found it pretty easy to change that but i just think parents think if they give their kids the crap food they will not wine or cry for it. the problem with that is the parents created it. |

| Weight Loss | Being called "fat" makes me want to overeat! | Apr 12 2009 21:56 (UTC) |

The way i delt with it was ignore it when i could then when i turned 18 i stopped all contact with him. my dad did more than just pick at my weight he picked at everything my hair my nails my teeth my skin my job i had anything he could put down he did. now cutting him out of your life may not be the answer for you and if your dad is at all understanding then talking to him may be easier. Mine was impossible to talk to no matter what i was wrong im not sure how old you are but i know i became alot happier once i didnt have to hear it all anymore and it has been alot easier to lose weight and be healthy the way i want to be. and trust me your not alone I see people treat their kids like this all the time and it pisses me off because i know what long term damage can be done by it. just be strong and confident with yourself and start to try not to care what anyone thinks it takes time but i did it so can you. |

It seems like your parents are just creating problems with food for both of you. Your bother probably acts like they do toward you and food because it takes focus off of him. It may be damn near impossible but to ignore but just keep moving forward with your diet choices. when i was really young (about 8 years old) my dad would tell me that i was too fat and he was putting me on a diet then he would make me eat ice cream when i would say no. so i know it can be hard to have non supportive parents. |
