Fitness Which DVD's (preferply pilates) is THE BEST?! Feb 19 2007

I really like my ten minute solution pilates dvd. It is divided up into 5 ten-minute segments (abs, buns and thighs, flexibility, sculpting, and burn) so you can do as much or as little as you have time for. They've really worked for me, and I think that it was pretty cheap.

Weight Loss Vitamins and Supplements Feb 16 2007

I don't really know much about vitamins, but I do have something about the protein powder. Last semester I took a foods and nutrition class and my professor basically said that those powders are a waste of money. She said that even a professional weight lifter can get the extra protein that s/he needs from one glass of skim milk. She said that it's not going to hurt you to take them, but that it is definitely not needed.

I agree with ellybell. 1.5 pounds a week is a good number to aim for, but I can't make my body do anthing that it doesn't want to. Some weeks I will only lose 1 pound or maybe nothing at all; the next week I may lose 3, and if it's a week where I do lose 3, I think it should still count.
Weight Loss Coke Zero... safe or not? Feb 12 2007

Actually Coke Zero still uses aspartame. There is actually close to no difference in the ingrediants, so I don't know why the taste is so different.

I drink about 1 diet coke/coke zero a day, but I don't let myself drink one until I have had my water for the day (100mL).

You mean you were eating 1500 cals before you were actively trying to lose weight? Or just before you started using cc?

I would stay at 1500 for now. Have your calories come from healthier foods (Fruits, veggies, lean meats, fish, whole grains...) and start an exercise program if you don't already have one. See how that goes. If you don't lose in a few weeks lower your calories by 100 and try again.

It's not going to hurt you to go to 1200 calories. You should lose the weight faster if you do; however, the slower the weight comes off the longer it will stay off. Just a suggestion.

Can I play?

I would like to lose 12 pounds in these eight weeks. My spring break is eight weeks away and I'm going on a cruise and spending a lot of time in a bathing suite. I could definitely use some support and motivation to help me reach my goal...as if my bathing suit wasn't motivation enough...

Good luck all!

Don't wear stretchy jeans. Jeans with better construction will be much more flattering, especially in a darker wash.

When you go to your tagged items, click on the name instead of the add food to log buttong. That will take you to the screen with the nutrition facts. On that screen, hit the add food to log button. You can then change the serving. It's one more step, but it works.
Weight Loss Does Anyone here use SlimFast or other type? Oct 24 2006

In response to antonio...

Calories are calories. Calories that come from sugar are not going to be stored as fat just because they are sugar calories. If you are burning more calories than you are eating than they will not be stored as fat.

Back on topic - I love slimfast. I have trouble eating in the morning; it makes me sick, but I can drink a slimfast and be fine. It gives me the energy I need in the morning and keeps me full until lunch.
Weight Loss 30 Hour Famine Oct 19 2006

I have participated in the 30 hour famine for the past several years. If this is something that you want to do to help raise money and awareness, then do it. If you want to do it because you think that it will help you drop a pound or two, then don't.

If you do decide to do it, remember to stay hydrated. Also, when you eat again, don't over do it on your first meal. It could make you sick.

Nature's Own has a double fiber wheat bread that has 5g of fiber per slice. Plus, it's only 40 cals per slice. That could add a little to your total.
