i think you should eat what you want and plenty of it like your dietitian said. and add in some fruits and veg, it really doesn't matter what you eat, as long as you meet your calorie target. you can easily eat healthy high calorie foods as well as foods that aren't so healthy and meet your target.

my cousin sufferers from this disease, she eats roughly the same amount, maybe some days 5000. i would suggest more supplements and top up the calories, my cousin is also very underweight, but its not an issue, what is though is taking 70 pills in one day for the raise of her life. so i wouldn't worry about being underweight cause its not your fault, anyway hang in their and if you really wanna go for it then maybe you should top up your calories to 2000kals more = 6000. that number should be a where you can make a solid gain.
i hope this helps

| Weight Loss | Are you tall and skinny and wanting to just drop a few kilos?? | Sep 01 2009 17:12 (UTC) |

it seems to me that maybe 134lbs is not your natural set point because if it was you would be able to eat alot more and maintain that weight especially seeing that your quite tall. for a woman of 5ft9 1800 should be your bare minimum but i suspose if you start eating more healthy and working out regular or if you are then more, then those 5 pounds should disappear quite quickly and easily. |

good music is dead, music like most things now ages is very superficial. it use to be you had to be able to sing to be on the radio or have an actual music video. but now all you need is some gibberish song with dumb catchy lyrics and a short skirt to sell records to to get air time. hip hop is dead and rnb is slowly fading away, pop is taking over, rock, heavy metal, classical music, jazz/Reggie have remain consistently good. all these artist like rihanna who don't write there own songs and are what i call fake artists because there just a brand.
anyway just my opioion. |

you clearly don't have an eating disorder if you are doing this unconsciously, its juts disorder eating because you are eating so few calores and maintaining on so few calories which clearly shows that may not be your natural body weight. trying increaseing your portions or adding foods that have higher cals until you hit 1800. |

sounds like your eating enough for your activity level and for weight loss. but i would suggest even though this maybe off topic to just cut out the soya unless you take in some sort of kelp supplement or you eat 1-2 serving of fish everyday.because soya suppress the thyroid functioning. i would also suggest maybe even though your mixing it up your body is use to the calorie yo-yoing. why not change it up and have a consistent number for one week then change it the next- it takes seven days for the body to release that theres a change, then change the cals again before it catches up.
just a suggestion |

the pill creates an artificial period and i would suggest going off it if your at an healthy weight and eating enough fats/carbs/protein and nourishment plus your hormones levels are normal then you don't need it your period well come back on its own. cause if your body is getting enough food then theirs enough fuel for a period and these hormones from the pill will only screw up your body and might even stop you from getting a period because the body may become reliant on these artificial hormones. |

my mum and my best friend think I'm too young and that rushing it is not the answer. I'm just gonna have to tell him and hope that even if he says he's ok with waiting that he really is OK with waiting. but also i hate planning my life, i feel like if things are might to happen they will regardless of time.
if that makes any sense |

i am currently studying and planning on going to uni next year i plan on having a career in media industry as a script writer or editor, but that's not the problem i have come to a decision well half heartily to wait - I'm still unsure of whether that's the right decision or not.
i just wanted other peoples experienced opinions. |

some birth control pills can make you gain weight as some of them might affect the metabolism and your general appetite for some people. i know gaining weight is scary but eating 800 Cal's is something you cannot do forever. and the comment from fidget was really unnecessary if you don't have something productive or supportive to say then don't say anything at all. |

| Health & Support | Increased calorie intake, lost 11 pounds?! | Aug 08 2009 19:27 (UTC) |

i would just go with it, i lost weight on 2000-2500 calories cause i was at my aunts place and wasn't really bothered but i did track my calories and was surprised to see that i lost 5 pounds in two weeks 110-105. i would up my Cal's for a couple of weeks and see what stops the scales from moving to find a number of cals that takes you into maintenance. 3000 doesn't seem like much if your 6 feet tall and active try 3500. i normally eat 3000 and I'm lightly active a walk here and there and harder stuff when I'm bothered. just experiment and see what works for you. |

| Maintaining | 110-115 pound people - what are you maintaining on? | Jun 26 2009 18:10 (UTC) |
11 |
i maintain on 3000cals a day, when i workout a bit more, 110, 19,5ft4 more or less if half an inch counts. sometimes your period can go a miss if your stressed or not eating enough fats. at least so i am told anyway. but it sounds like your eating enough, how long as it been since your last period?

They aren't really doing anything except giving her specail treatment of Mucus-thinners. she gets her period and everything but she looks so fragile, and she really is trying, even though its pretty exhausting to be eating mountains of food just to survive. |

but you are underweight though, even though bmi is a bit biased, and this forum is a helpful one. but i will not help you to maintain a weight that could potentially harm you in the long run. i am the same height as you give or take half an inch and i eat 3000 carlores and maintain 110 pounds this weight is perfectly healthy for at 5ft4. if i was 98 pounds i simply woundn't feel healthy but suspose it demands on how u you feel. |

try and consume the 1500 clean calories, i know you are scared of gaining but with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome it could go either way, as some patients put on or loss weight. neither is good, if your doctor says no cardio, that probably means that at the moment your exercise intolerant. but light walking for 20mins a day inserting a few min's or seconds to rest might help if you start having heart pulsations. or perhaps doing some light yoga or pilates laying on the floor should help keep you in shape, as people with POTS have their heart beat increase dramtically when standing up for too long. i hope this helps :)

| Maintaining | ALL LADIES 4'11 to 5'5 what do you maintain on? SPEND 2 MINUTES TO SHARE!!! | May 07 2009 21:49 (UTC) |

well its definitely possible to maintain on 2000 at 4 foot 11, i am 5ft4 and i maintain on that amount. sometimes more and sometimes less. like when i am very active walking to and from college, doing yoga, skipping, and working out on my treadmill i eat over 3000. so i suggest adding a 100 carlories a day to your normal daily amount until you hit 2000 or until you get to at least 1800.
