hey lovely ladies! sorry i didn't weigh in yesterday -- here it is today 113.6lb...which means only .4lb loss!! agh!! this is soooooo hard. okay. pick myself up..and keep going. I just bought Jillian Michael's "Making the Cut" Has anyone read it?? Very interesting read about what kind of "oxidizers" we are (fast/slow/balanced). I am going to incorporate those ideas but i don't think i have the time to eat her very precise menu plan..if anyone has done it I'd love to hear your feedback.. SW:114 CW:113.6 GW:109 |

congrats nycgirl on staying positive and sticking to your workout! I decided to check-in today because we are drawing near the weekend and that is always the toughest for me. I've been pretty good all week - esp since it is TTOM and i could seriously eat everything in sight. I lost a little control today and just HAD to have a hot pocket and sun-chips (not too bad) but I never/rarely allow myself chips and really try to limit processed food..especially during the week..BUT..i haven't gone over my calorie count so, lets see if i can get through the night .i only have 200cals for dinner so..we'll see. stay strong ladies...!!! |

Hi - i would love to join your challenge if it is still open... here is my story -- 5', 30 year old female and i used to bounce between 119-123lb FOR YEARS, even though i was working out like a mad woman -- religiously 6 days a week (weights and cardio). I did the weight watchers thing but could never lose the "last 10 pounds". Then, at the beginning of this year i did herbalife and lost 10pounds getting me down to 109lb. I wanted to lose just a few more and discovered cc where everyone said that i was undereating and needed to up my calories to 1400-1600 or more and quit the herbalife thing. I did that and promptly gained 5 lbs which I CAN'T GET RID OF! I became very upset and gave myself a break towards the end of the summer. I am now back with a vengeance and determined to get back to my desired 109lb and hopefully by next year spring see the ultimate 105lb...but who knows. I have seen several short women say that they eat 1100..even less to lose. Any opinions on that? I have had a couple low days like that but i work out so much i worry about going into starvation mode. My last week weigh in was 114lb (aghhh) so we will see where i am on monday. HW- 133lb SW - 114lb GW - 109lb

you know whats the hardest thing ?-- even though i know i weigh less than i did when i started, i have these feelings that i look the same (even though i am a dress size down..) it can be so discouraging. thats interesting that you were working out so much and not seeing any results -- maybe thats what i am doing to myself...mmm. Are you seeing good results now that you are not working out as much? if you could estimate - how many cals do you think you are eating--do you have "cheat days"/ eat what you want? thanks so much for you reply , and best of luck with you weightloss, you seem to have found something that works for you! |

you know ladies -- I am pretty confident that my weight "crept up" when i was eating about 1800 cals..with low calories at the beginning of the week and then overeating on the weekend. I should be able to maintain on 1800 with my activity level and maybe the problem is the "distribution" of calories during the week (ie...too low at the start and too high at the end so my body just stores when i eat normally.) I'm on week 2 averaging 1265 cals and zig-zagging them. (its the week before TTOM so i am not sure if i will weigh in or not..) ALSO, i am eating every 3 three hours and not letting myself get hungry before i start preparing food..otherwise i start nibbling on everything. Good luck to everyone!!! and please share any successes you have as it can be very encouraging!! |

ezzied -- sounds like we r in the same place!! i completely understand...being sooooo close to goal and then "life happens" and whoa! Well -- get back on the wagon NOW before your 10lbs turn into 12..14...15...you see where I'm going. We all have so few pounds to lose that being diligent is almost mandatory. I'm committing to this 30 days at a time. So for the month of october -- I am working out and counting calories. weighing and measuring everything. period. I will not deprive myself, but i will absolutely stay away from "trigger"foods, which in my case is bread and alcohol...once i have either of those ALL BETS ARE OFF!!LOL. also, maybe we can share tips on how we lost weight in the first place --what worked for to get close to your goal?

hey there! i also 5" and a bit of a gym rat, medium build and trying to lose 5lbs as well. I actually want to get to YOUR weight 107/108 because if i go ANY lower i don't think it will look good for me -- i am hour glass shaped and i'll lose too much booby and booty and just be up and down. ANYWAY, my weight crept up a bit cause i had major oral surgery during the summer on two different occasions, traveled more than usual and basically enjoyed myself. even though i worked out, and i would say kept a pretty good "diet" in between the few nights out and even during my recovery, i got on the scale three days ago and it was up nearly 4lbs. Maybe we can help eachother -- i was wondering how many calories you eat and what your activity level is. Let s start there. I work out about 5-6 days a week mix of cardio and strength training. I just added 30day shred to switch things up. For the past week I averaged 1265 cals (that is what cc recommended). My problem has been that i will be SUPER strict..then one day just blow my calorie allowance out the window. But i just will not lose weight at a higher calorie count....mmm..

hey icat_7 - congratulations on having a successful vacation!! i am still struggling with my last 4 pounds - got hit with a real wammy couple weeks ago and had to have wisdom teeth surgury - and have since had some complications. My weight has fluctuated since i couldn't work out and now it seems i can't do anything near what i was doing before due to a lack of a blood clot forming. SOooooo..now what?! thinking about dropping cals down to 1265 for sedentary - it's soo low though..any advice? just a reminder I'm 5'0, 30 year old female and as of this morning weight is 111.1. I want to get to 107. Any advice?? thanks y'all |

well - my TOM isn't for another two weeks..but all things are possible. it is especially hard because for someone as short as i am (5'0) it took months to just lose 10lbs..so to jump nearly 4 pounds is almost half-way BACK to my starting point. not to mention, i had been on a plateau for nearly 2months!!!!! I have been reading a ton of posts (since i'm stuck in bed!) and many suggest eating maintenance to break a plateau so i am wondering since i am being forced to not workout, maybe i should look at this as a "recovery" or "re-booting" break. Anyone every done this -- i.e ease up workout AND eat at maintenance...what were your results? or should i eat what cc suggests to lose weight at sendentary? (1200)... thus continue 'dieting' through my recovery?... |

You are so sweet! thank-you. I have been completely immobile and that is doing a mind game on me too (used to working out 5-6days a week - and now i can't do anything for 7 days.) I will definately increase fluids, increase my cal intake to fit 'sedentary requirements' ..and try to relax. |

hey Nancy -- i just saw your post and wanted to respond so that you weren't "hanging"..i am petite too -- 5' even so I completely understand your challenges of losing at this height -- which i happen to think are very unique! I am actually in the very last leg of my weight loss journey (currently holding at 109lbs and trying to get these last pesky 4-5lbs off.) I definately couldn't get down to 90lbs, i work out too much and i love my curves too much. HOWEVER, I can relate. Take it in small increments at a time -- that's A LOT of weight you want to lose and i think that it will feel longer if you are fixated on a NUMBER rather than HOW YOU FEEL. you have come so far!!! you should FEEL REAL PROUD OF YOURSELF! how many calories are you eating? are you working out..if so what are you doing? let's look at your stats and see what needs to be changed up...how long have you 'stopped losing' or are you just not losing as fast as you want? let's start there.. |

icat_7 ..and any one else in this group-- I need help!!! I am so confused. So i upped my calories two weeks ago to an average of 1465 (from 1200), changed my workout (still do about 90mins/intense/6days a week) and I have gone up .3lbs. I know it is only a little - but I have only 4 pounds to go so any movement in the other direction is very discouraging! To add to the confusion, I did the tool menu to calculate my daily cal needs again and CC says i should be having only 1265/day! that seems to go against the resounding and very popular advice of upping my calories.(BTW..when i first joined cc said 1465/day and i was same weight..) What should I do? Follow cc's advice and drop my intake back down? Or stick to this new calorie level and hope i can break the plateau which may have been caused by under eating in the first place! icat_7 you seem to have had success with upping your cals...please help! btw my stats: 30yr old female/5.0"/110lbs/ gym rat currently doing 1hr cardio 5-6days/week PlUS following the New Rules Of Lifting For Women program thanks-you to all and anyone who has feedback/personal experience |

so yesterday i had a "treat meal"..that kinda extended into the evening..i actually didn't count but i think i'll go back and write it all down in my food journal. I am pretty sure i didn't go over 2000. I definately ate beyond comfort. DOes anyone else do that? I can be so disciplined and actually very content during the week and most of the weekend..then I give myself permission to treat myself and its like i have to keep eating until i am uncomfortable!!! its embarrassing actually. but i got up and spent 1hr 45min in the gym this morning..started with weights (new rules of lifting for women) then did interval sprints, finished off on the elipitical. I hope i didn't blow all of last week's hard work last night. how do you guys deal with treat meals/days.. i think my goal this week is that i HAVE TO COUNT THE CALORIES for these meals instead of having a free for all. that may be why i keep losing and gaining the same pound....mmm.... |

hey icat_7 -- congrats on your weightloss!! that is fantastic!..especially at our height, lol!! i upped my calories this past week to an average of 1465 but am "cylcling" them...so different everyday. I am going to try this for a couple weeks and see if if it nudges me down. Did you see an increase of weight when you first upped you calories? that's what i'm scared of...but i know in the long run it will be easier for me when i get to maintenance. best of luck to you!! please keep us posted! |

Hi all! i'd love to join...i recently lost 10lbs (i am a shortie so it was the most difficult last three months - yes, thats how long it took.) I have 4 pounds before i reach my "vanity goal". I recently purchased a 12lb weighted vest from wal-mart and LOVE IT!! i put in on when walking on the treadmill and when i do housework. It is pretty comfortable and has definately increased my burn and hopefully will break this plateau i have been on. i think my problem is that i am soooo close to goal AND a gym rat (workout 5-6 times a week) so these last few pounds are going to take time. One piece of advice - DRINK UP!!...H2O that is..i found it has made a big difference in my weight lost. |

sorry -- i forgot to reply to the original questions and just jumped into my own drama!! here's what i did to lose the weight (and remember, we r the lucky ones: even though it's harder for us to lose weight--i think the result is more appealing cause it's just a smaller hour glass!) I WAS EXTREMELY STRICT ON MY CALORIE INTAKE. NEVER HAD A CHEAT DAY. I would have an 'indulgent meal once every two weeks". I am not advocating doing this, but it seemed to be the only thing that worked for me. |

can you share more about the new rules of lifting for women? i am 5'0, 32-24-34 3/4. I have lost about 10lbs in the past three months and have been going back and forth between 108 and 110..sometimes 111lb...but my measurements have stayed the same. i am really frustrated but trying to stay motivated. i haven't been able to lose any more inches and i want to get to 106lb as my ultimate goal. i am very happy with where i am now but just wanted a little more tightness. i definately do more cardio than weights but have been wondering if i should reverse that to finally lose these last pounds??? |

i started at 119 and now fluctuate between 108 and 110. 5'0" female. my goal weight is 106. these last few pounds are EXCRUTIATING! i have been seeking advice myself. i work out a ton (5-6 days 1hr to 2hrs daily cardio and weight training..interval training..the works)...and still not budging on the scale. everyone says 'Just stick to it." i am eating on average 1200-1400 and am freaked to increase calories which many people advise. I would definately recommend increasing your water. while i was losing..i was drinking a gallon and a half of water everyday. (still am)stopped eating after 7/8pm. i replace my morning meal with a high protien soy shake right after my workout. cut down on fruits A LOT...would only put 1/5 of a banana in my shake and maybe once a week or so had a bowl of strawberries and blueberries. had large salads everyday. i wish you all the best..hopefully someone else will post with some "last pound helpful tips!!!" best of luck! |

i am 5'0 fluctuate between 108 and 110..wanna get down to 106. I eat about 1200 during the week and a little more on the weekend (about 1500). workout 5-6 days a week..interval training/cardio and weights. Shorties have it really hard and i come from very large people..let's be honest..my mom's side of the family are obese and then some so i have chosen to be extra diligent about being healthy since it is so easy for me to go the other way. Maybe don't think in terms of 'eating less calories' just make them 'better". good protien, dark greens..berries. My biggest advice is really decide WHY you want to lose weight, because as you get closer to your goal (like me) you can start going a little crazy and become obsessed with a NUMBER as opposed to being happy with your new lifestyle. |

thanks for your feedback - i did calculate how many cals were in the shake (200) twice a day with i regular balanced meal and 2 snacks..and THAT totalled 1200 cals or including the shake. i am just anxious that herbalife is what helped me lose that weight and now i am psychologically tied to it thinking thats the only way. |
