goo byb, I completely understand the whole stopping eating thing! But I think once we are at a healthy weight etc, out body's will follow and they will tell us when we are full and that wwe don't want/need food like that all the time. But I totally keep trying to avoid some certain foods in case I get 'addicted' and can't stop. :S |

Wow, well done everyone, especially you recovery_now thats brilliant, Im still a bit too nervous to eat a whole fast food meal! What did you have? As for me, I had chocolate orange cake at my friend's 21st bbq last night, and doritos AND chocolate lol. Plus I'v been eating loads of ice cream too (all fear foods for me) Oh and I got a big ass tattoo :P |

Hi guys, havn't posted on here in a while, but this is a brilliant thread fidget and I dont think it has to be negative at all. Maybe it can make us realise truly what our fears are! I'm also scared of not being able to control my eating and forever gaining. I was always underweight even before anorexia so I always am slightly nervous about how I will end up. Like many of you I too am a complete perfectionist!! Even with ED sometimes I feel the need to do it right but there is no right or wrong way about it. For me everything in life has to be 'perfect' but what actually is it? I'm also scared about going to Uni and forgetting to keep checks on myself and being able to afford food etc. I too fear that people will forget there is anything wrong once I am weight restored and they will expect soo much of me, like if I break down in a restaurant or something they will just think I am completely nuts :(

Ok, let me tell you, you don't need to go to a doctor thats rubbish, but if your weight is low or you are on a calorie deficit, then that is very likely the reason. I am a recovering anorexic and my weight fell very low and I lost all interest in sex/the opposite gender. As I have started eating more and gaining weight back, it is slowly returning. In this case I suggest you up your calories a bit and see where that takes you. Meddling with this can be dangerous if you arn't handling the situation. Women need to be a certain weight/ fat percentage for our hormones and nether regions to work properly so if it is too low then it stops workin altogether. |

Guys, I can actually post today...ended up going quite a bit over my cals with a little binge :S Fortisip suppliment Breakfast: 30g oats, 100ml alpro soya milk, level tbsp brazil nut butter, 20g flaxseed, 30g orange flavour raisins and 75g Fage 0% Snack: Huge Pumpkin pancake!! (pumpkin, egg white, shredded wheat, cinnamon) topped with Blueberry jam, and a coffee Lunch: Homemade wholewheat taco with 4 quorn slices, cottage cheese, avocado, tomatoes, radishes, beetroot and 'Kale chips' Snack: 1/2 a tub of Ben and Jerries Phish food Frozen yoghurt, 3 huuuge double chocolate chip muffins :S and 2 coffees I literally couldn't stop eating and made me feel total sick :/ Dinner: Lots of roasted mixed veg with tomato sauce and chicken Snack: Not sure yet, maybe a pot of Fage 0% with carob powder I just can't help it when I can't stop eating, and I don't want to get into a binge thing either. Gah, I know the aim is to gain but i feel so sick. Eugh! Edit: Around 2600/2700 |

Yes Kayla, I got edema there and on my face when I first started refeeding. Dont worry though it does go away and doesn't last long :) Keep at it everyone, your eats sound amazing! |

Oh my god, liney well done for that Im so pleased you still made your target :D Emm... brushyourteeth this is a WEIGHT GAIN thread so why on earth are you posting saying you want to lose weight........I seriously hope you have a screw lose, and that diet wouldn't keep a 3 year old going! I have more than that at breakfast lol :S |

I completely agree. I am not high enough on cals yet to post but if it wasn't for CC I would have never realised how much I had to eat. It is great to read other peopples menus. Lady danger, I think your post was really harsh and critical, and I for one I need to count calories or I would never eat enough to gain any weight my stomach is so shrunken. |

I would definitly count unless you have a meal plan structured for you. I tried not to one day, ate loads of food then ended up counting at the end of the night. I was WAAAY under. I had to have another suppliment and more food and i was still 100 short so you should! I have knows others that have done this aswell. |

If you weigh your cereal, they are all pretty much 80 cals for 23grams so there is no need to be scared! You should try granola though it is really good! If you get alpro soya then this has added calcuim and vitamins in it and you do get a vanilla version, though the original is quite sweet and tasty! |

I second the soya milk!! I'll never go back to ordinaly milk now lol. I also have 2 cereals a day and loads of yoghurt :) Uk girl here too, you should try Grape Nuts cereal (get it in tesco), it is soo yummy and it is a denser cereal too so it is great for mixing into yoghurt |

My lowest was 84lbs and am now about 92. I used to drink loads but now I don't drink enough tbh for all the food. DON'T weigh yourself everyday. Thats why it is not an accurate reading. Only do it at once a week. The scales are never accurate anyway I don't think. Here's what I eat normally: Am: Fortisip (suppliment) 300 Breakfast: 23g oats, 150ml soya milk, 10g raisins/craisins or dried fruit, medium banana, 25g blueberries, 16g of nuts/nut butter/pb (375) Snack: 150ml fat free yoghurt (90), 100 cals of fruit/dried fruit like a peach and 2 dried figs, or 1/2 a mango and 18g raisins etc (190/200) Lunch: 2 sliced med bread/ ww pita/ english muffin (150), 100g chicken breast meat/ham (120), 20g houmous/30g avocado/2 tsp canola oil (50), lettuce tomato and 1/2 pepper (20), 62g beetroot (30), about (370) Snack: tub of Fage 0% greek yoghurt (80), 23g cereal (80), 50g carrot and a dried fig/100g carrot/ 10g raisins and some carrot or apple etc (40) (200) Dinner: 120g turkey steak/100g venison/ tin tuna (120), Mixed veg pack from the supermarket (35), another fat (50), 100g sweet potato baked/ 25g pasta or buckwheat etc (100), plus some spinach/onions or some other veggie (15) (315) Snack: Fage 0%/ 150ml fat free greek yoghurt (80), 8g of some nuts/nut butter/seeds (50), 1/2 a larabar/eat natural bar (some kind of bar anyway) (100-120) about (230) pm: Fortisip (300) Calories about 2300 So this gives me ratios of about 55% carbs, 20% fats, 25% protein and I am still upping the fat perentage towards like 25-30%. I only eat low fat or fat free yoghurt cos I can't stomach the full fat dairys, eugh. I am still gaining on this at the mo, but it won't be long til i'm up to 2500 my dietitian said. Hope this helps a little as I know it is hard to make meal plans etc :) |

orsibabba, I had to go straight up to 2100 first to even gain 1lb which i didnt think was possible either lol. Plus i was maybe eating 300 a day or less and working out like mad! Im on 2300 so far, working up so i shall post my meal plan for you tomorrow since it's late here. |

KB don't decrease your cals, this will just set you back into starvation. The weight you gained is modt likely water weight if you have bloating and swelling! The major increase in cals should boost your metabolism faster so do not worry. The sooner you get them up, the quicker your body will comme out of starvation. Just ride it out. You need to gain anyway so try and look at it as a positive thing :) |

Abbi gave some great advice. But yea the more you go up and down with your cals, the longer it will take your body to adjust and not think you are still starving it. I got water weight when I increased from like 200 to 1900 in a week. Iv just had to up again and I'v been getting water weight and bloating again, euch. It is very hard but be strong and it will go away, sommetimes it takes a week other times maybe longer depending on how many cals you have upped. you have been amazingly brave to make it this far and just think of the future and what you will be able to achieve without this crappy illness. Tomatoes - raw and grilled on a flame Beans - Soup/chili, salad, or as a dip- all but good mixed with cottage cheese Corn - yuk but popcorn = yes Cheese - in salad Meat - meat is good any time Nuts - butters and in breakfast cereal Green veggies - as a side dish Carrots - Raw Milk - smoothies Rice - in desserts, in soups Fish - Steamed, grilled/broiled, in soup, or raw- all of them :) Oats - Oatmeal, baked goods, or granola- all of them again, how could you choose! |
