did it!

out of 3500 people... i came 8th!!

It was rather hilly.. but I did it in 23.45 minutes =D very happy!!

Any 10k tips would be appreciated for next time though!! lol!

I've just started doing things like this... loving it!

Though I was wondering.. is it true that you should try and eat extra protein if you want these exercises to have the most effect? I'm a total lifting virgin so any advice would be lovely :)

I really am no expert, but from personal experience, i'd say be careful. What sort of hurt is it? Achey muscles are ok (i think!), but if its more like shooting pains up your legs, or it happens on impact - i'd stop for a bit! I recently just managed to sort out the damage I did from working through leg pain - and I did it by just not running for a bit, and doing some more weights to strengthen my legs.

I have ALMOST beaten shin splints I developed after trying to do too much running too soon!

AND i've cut DOWN on the running, and started doing more weights (deadlifting/lunging) and more really short high intensity aerobics sessions... and guess what? For the first time ever, since I started exercising, I have shaved 4 minutes off my 5k time - taking me from 28mins to 24mins. Proof just doing lots of running was getting my speed absolutely nowhere!

My boyfriend once believed riding was very easy, and involved letting the horse do all the work, while you just sit there. He quickly changed his mind when he came to watch me. If you're doing it right - it is a sport.

I'm a 30F.. but I don't think they look particuarly big... which I don't really understand! Long as I have a good sports bra, and I can find a nice bikini sold in seperates, I don't really mind. Be happy with what you have, the grass is always greener til you get there.
