My usual weight day is on Wednesday, so I weighed in before the big feast...thank goodness!  I was back down to 197.5, so I dumped the 2.5 lbs from the week before.  Hopefully, I didn't do too much damage yesterday; I tried not to eat too much, and still managed to eat enough to make myself feel sick.  I just cannot eat the way I used to...and that's a good thing!  Happy Holidays!

Simone - 78kg - 76kg or 167,54lbs (down 2kg!!!)

Cynthia - 175.8 - down 0.6

Kathryn ~ 197.5 - Down 2.5

Go to bed early tonight, Terry!

During the Spring/Summer, I was drinking 6-8 20-oz bottles of water per day; now, I'm down to one or two.  I am going to do better!

Cynthia, good for you!

Mavmom, you were gone before I joined, but I'm looking forward to getting to know you.

TGIF! It's been a stressful week, at home and at work, and I haven't been drinking my water the way I should...and I can feel it.  The scale says I've 2.5 pounds, but I don't think it's all actual gain, and I'm fairly certain most of it will be gone next week when I weigh in.  I'm trying to drink the water, but it's harder now that the weather is colder, but I really don't feel well when I don't drink it the way I'm supposed to.  Hope everyone else had a better week and will have a great weekend.

It's a really good photo, but between the weight loss and no glasses, you almost look like a different person.

Terry!  You have to be really careful about skipping meals, even for a good cause.  The thing with not eating?  It gets easier the longer you go without.  I once didn't eat for a week in high school, and after the first couple of days, I didn't even feel hungry anymore; I felt good and it scared the Hell out of me!  I could see just how easy it would be to be anorexic, and I made myself start eating again.  So, be careful!

Had an uneventful week, and stayed exactly the same.  Better than a gain, I suppose.  Have a good weekend, everyone!

Last week, I weighed in at 196 and was down 2.5 lbs.  This week, after three birthdays at work and Halloween, I'm up 1.5 lbs.  I thought I was being relatively good...only eating a bite of cake, etc., but apparently, it was more than I thought.  On top of that, I'm trying to adjust my calories to accommodate the weight I've already lost so I can keep losing.  It's gonna be a looooooong holiday season!

Simone, admittedly, I'm not too good with metric conversions, but it looks to me like you're doing okay...maybe just not progressing as quickly as you'd like.  I think maybe it's your attitude that needs work; it seems like you're looking at this as a sort term goal and waiting for it to be over, but it never really will be.  This has to be a lifetime commitment to fitness and health; even when you reach your goal weight, you will have to continue to eat healthily and work out, or you will regain the weight.  That being said, I know of others who calorie cycle, but they usually do one normal day followed by one extremely low day...never a week of low calories at a time.  Maybe if you alternate days, you can do it without making yourself sick.  Good luck!

Awesome, I wish we had a gym like that around here!  Terry, are you sure you're getting enough calories for all that activity?  Drinking enough water?  If you're drained in the morning, something must be off....

I'm still on the roller coaster this week, gained one pound.  I think it's time to get my Gazelle out of storage and start using it again!

Wow!  I completely forgot to post last week.  Let's see...first I lost three pounds, then I gained them back the next week.  Last week, they were gone again; and this week, I lost 1/2 lb.  What a roller coaster!  Hopefully, things will level out again...I think I'm back on track.

Simone, welcome to the group!

Terry between the pain and not being able to be outside...no wonder you've been in a bad mood!  Hopefully, the hand specialist will be able to help with the pain, and you'll be able to get out and ride your bike...bet your mood will improve immensely.

Terry, glad to hear you take the appropriate precautions.  Alicia, please do post an update on your husband's condition/prognosis.  Sandy, I'm glad your granddaughter is getting better...but how awful for you!  I'm sure she will quickly forget all about the treatments and remember only how much you love her.  Hope everyone has a fantastic (and safe!) weekend.

Happy Friday!  And a long weekend, too!  Yippee!!  The weather has been a bit cooler this week...80's and even some 70's...and I am lovin' it!  I wish it would hold, but I doubt Summer is quite finished with us, yet.

Sandy...sorry about your migraine; hope you feel better, soon!  Welcome back, Cynthia!  Terry...I think a pound is a pound is a pound, but muscle is more dense and therefore takes up less space than fat.  Does that make sense?  My scale is back to goofing with me, again.  When I did my official weigh in on Wednesday, it said I had lost 4.5 pounds...which I didn't really believe.  Today, it says I'm up 2.5 pounds...and I've been doing pretty much the same things all week.  So, I'm just gonna go with today's weight and claim a 2 pound loss for the week.  Have a good weekend!

Sandy – I owe you 1 weigh in

Busy week, here.  My mom was out of town, so I was back and forth between my house and hers, taking care of her pets.  Not a lot of time to cook, so several nights it was cereal for dinner.  I'm down 3.5 lbs this week, though, so I'm not complaining!  I just hope that I don't lose my momentum, now that life has returned to "normal."

Sandy, I don't know what to tell you about your plateau.  Maybe shake things up a bit and have your biggest meal for lunch, and then breakfast for dinner?  Dunno if it would help or not....

Terry, congratulations on meeting your biking goal!  I cannot imagine riding 100 miles, let alone 1,000.  Have you decided on your next goal?

Sandy - 150 (still hanging in there)

I think I've reached that portion of my weight loss journey where my body begins to play tricks on me.  I was stalled at the same weight as last week all week long.  Then, Wednesday...when I had to officially weigh and record my weight...I got on the scale and I'd gained two pounds!  Thursday morning, I was down, again.  It's frustrating, but I'm not falling for it...I'm not quitting!

It's been an OK week.  I've been eating well but kind of slacking on the exercise while I've been fighting a bug.  Scale was up .05 pound on Wednesday when I officially weighed in, but it's gone again, now.  Eh.

I think we all lose our motivation from time to time.  Maybe you just need to shake it up a little...maybe add in some weight training or a Karate class or something.  Just do something totally different, and make mastering it your new goal.  Good luck!

Not a bad week, until today...I got rear-ended on the way to work.  Everyone is fine, so it could've been worse.  Alicia, I hope your husband will make a speedy recovery.  While you're taking care of him, remember to be good to yourself, too.

Cynthia, I doubt you really gained 9 lbs in one weekend.  I'm willing to bet you ate more salty foods than you normally would and most of it is water weight.

As far as body image goes, even when I lost over 60 lbs doing Weight Watchers, I still did not see a difference in my appearance when I looked in the mirror.  Everyone else would tell me how good I was looking, but I still saw the same old fat Kathryn.  I wonder if I will ever see the difference in myself.

Only lost half a pound this week, but it's been a high stress, low sleep kind of week.  Hopefully, I will do better next week.

Happy July 4!  Everyone stay safe!

People don't notice you, or if they do, it's a random notice that doesn't stick.

It seems to work both ways with me.  I am thrilled when I can go down a size, but then when I look in the mirror, I feel like I look fat, and if I can feel the clothes touching me, I feel fat.  Then again, body issues are part of the reason I got fat to begin with; there is a certain level of invisibility that goes hand in hand with being overweight, and I am comfortable with that.
