The Lounge Dance Your A** Off? Jul 03 2009

I agree with you. I watched a few dances earlier on today and was completely embarressed for the contestants.

What shocked me is that one woman in particular seemed especially proud of her weight jiggling around on the dance floor? I don't know, maybe it's because I've always been extremely sensitive about my weight, but I don't see how one could honestly go on television and shout out their pride for being 100+ pounds overweight? I guess since it's a weight loss show I'm looking at it all wrong, but that's just what it looked like to me.

Thank you so much everyone. Hah, this morning I checked my email and saw a ton of notifications! I appreciate all of your support.

In a few weeks, once I get to 199 (My entrance into onederland and 100 pounds lost) I am going to record a video and put it on youtube. I will keep you all updated. As of this morning, I'm 205 pounds. I'm a bit dissapointed that I've only lost three pounds since I posted this thread, but I'm just using it as more motivation to stay on track.

Leegallup: I started very slowly with my exercise. I began doing about three minutes on my elliptical trainer, every day. Then with each week I kept going longer and longer, and eventually started to raise resistance, and then moved into the interval programs loaded on my trainer. Now I do try to do 30 minutes of high intensity interval training on my elliptical five days a week. Recently even the hardest programs on it have been leaving me feeling underwhelmed, though. So I'm going to try to do one hour, five days a week. The loaded programs each last 30 minutes, but I can always just redo the program, or choose another after I completed the first one.

As far as ideas and hints go... Invest in an digital kitchen scale. This will help you out tremendously when loading items into CC.

Never get too harsh on yourself. If you've had a bad day, week, month, learn your lesson and let it go and keep marching towards your goal.

Start today, right now. Never give yourself the option of doing something tomorrow, because chances are, you'll give yourself the same option the next day. The cycle will keep repeating itself until you make the choice to change it.

And last: You can do this. I know it sounds so overused, but if I can do it so can you. I grew up with horrible food habits, without any physical activity in my life. Those unhealthy habits were there my whole life, I never knew anything different. I was heading towards an early death, but I found the strength inside of me (we all have this) to change my life completely.

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me. I can't wait to make that 199 video!

Thank you for your replies.

I have photos, but my before photos weren't at my heaviest, and my most recent photos were at 222.8 pounds.

These photos were taken three years ago:

These were taken sometime in May, at the time I was 222 pounds:

Once I reach 199, I will be taking new photos, so hopefully you'll see those up soon.

Oh, and I raised my daily intake to 1500. I'm much happier now.

At my father's wake there was a slideshow of pictures that kept replaying for people who came in and out of the funeral home. It showed an old picture of my brother, Chris (who's considered the thin, goodlooking one). My mother said that was probably the heaviest she'd seen of Chris (in the picture, where he was still very thin. She was saying it in a joking tone, of course.)

So this tacky lady that I didn't even know, who was at the very least JUST as heavy as I was, turned to me and said "Yeah, you should give some of your weight to your brother". It was so embarressing.

Weight Loss Now that I'm exercising... Apr 27 2009

Thank you so much for your reply. You're right - I have been very stupid about my intake. Well, I can't change the past! So as of now, I'm going to focus on slowly raising my daily caloric intake. I don't think I can do over 1200 calories as of now, because my body is used to less, and right now I'm stuffing myself when I get up to 1200 calories. You definitely bring a good idea, though. If I can raise my intake up to 100-300 calories a day, then I'll be on the path to success.

Not losing weight as of now is kind of hard for me, though I do have to be patient. It seemed like when I was eating low calorie the pounds would melt off, but I now have to focus on my general health instead of just focusing on weight loss. My goal is to get atleast one hour of vigorous cardio in a day (30 minutes in the early morning, 30 minutes in the evening) with possibly a light cardio walk after dinner. As of now, my upper body is quite weak, so I'm still building up my muscle with light dumbbells, but one step at a time.
