I have been gone for a while and kind of got off track but I am trying to stick with it even when I mess up. I haven't done as good as I wanted but I am happy that I didn't gain anything either. I hope I can get focused for this coming week. START June 25-27: 259.8 |

The progress has been a little slow for me over the past few weeks, but I am keeping at it. I lost a little over a pound this week which puts me at 30 pounds lost overall. So I stay focused on that and realize how good I have done. I need to step up my exercise some. I have stayed within my calorie range this week but wasn't as active as I chould be. As far as quick dinners. I like to make a lot at a time and then have it for days I don't have time. One of the things I have been doing is making low calorie spaghetti. I use classico sauce, the one that only has 50 calories a serving. Then I saute some green peppers, onions, mushrooms, and garlic in pam. I also add a jar of roasted red peppers and some fresh herbs. Sometimes a can of stewed tomatoes. I usually fry some ground turkey, or lean hamburger and add it for protein. I make enough that I can freeze the sauce for several more dinners. I usually make enough for about 5 dinners. Then all I have to do is boil the noodles and warm the sauce. I have been using wheat pasta or ronzoni. If I have it at the house I like to serve a salad with it. Sometimes I make myself a low cal piece of garlic bread. I use 35 calorie bread with a touch of lite butter spread sprinkled with garlic salt and put it under the broiler. I have always been a spaghetti lover and now I can still have it and not feel guilty. Next month I am looking forward to making my own spaghetti sauce. I am really looking forward to this. In the garden I have around 20 tomato plants, several green pepper plants, and onions growing. I also have a herb garden. I plan on making homemade spaghetti sauce, tomato juice, and stewed tomatoes. Just yesterday I canned 14 quarts of green beans. I guess my favorite thing in that garden is corn. I planted a 25x15 ft plot of corn and it is getting close. When it comes in I can just eat corn for dinner. I really tried to plant a big garden this year because I wanted to have plenty of fresh garden food around, and it is a lot of work which is good exercise. It is also cuts down on the grocery bill quite a bit. My neighbor has a huge garden and is always giving away tons of stuff. I will can or freeze enough corn, tomatoes, and beans for the whole year. I have too many potatoes this year because I have been trying to stay away from them. I used to grow a huge garden but since my son was born I cut down on it. It is a lot of work and even more with a 2 year old running around. Hopefully this helps me lose some weight this summer. As long as I can keep from all the bad recipes. Like butter and potatoes, fried green tomatoes, and beans with bacon fat. At least the corn is so good it don't need butter.

I am happy to be back on track, my parents were still visiting which is a bad influence on me. I have to cook for them and my mom likes to cook. I enjoyed myself but watched the portions. My green beans just came in my garden so I have been filling up on those. I can't wait for the tomatoes, just another week or so. I am going to be really focused this week with counting and exercise and I hope to lose a little more this week.

I wish I could say I lost this week but I have had some bad influnces this week. My parents are visiting and my mom is a good cook. Plus it was my dad's birthday and we had a cookout with cake. I still tried to limit what I was eating so I could enjoy myself but not get too crazy. We have another cookout for the 4th and then I am back on track. START June 25-27: 259.8 |
