Quietly celebrating 164.3, i'll take it,  because using conveniently contorted logic it is closer to my proclaimed 163 than 165 Smile

Forgive me.. AAAAGGGH... I NEED CARBS.. Its hot and I'm going to go for strawberries tonight.

Hi guys,

just checking in and I hope that your weekends went as good as mine..

The chilli was great and lasted for 2 days (thankgoodness, because i think that i'm actually starting to look like a tuna fish.. completley burnt out on it ;-)

I have been SB to the letter apart from 1 big gin tonic at the beach on Sunday evening (the calories were counted and planned for) so I hope to see a little difference Thursday. Will be going running this evening so that should help a bit.

OK Southbeachers 1 more hour and I'm out of this office and let the weekend begin :) Echoing Sun: let's all try and be focused this weekend.. I think I'm going to try out the above chilli recipe.. thankyou. To Pam and anyone else who doesn't know me: Nice to meet you all. I'm Beverley, English, living in Italy with my 16 year old daughter. My weight ballooned when I stopped smoking and I thought that at 44 it's time for the lifestyle change that I'd been pondering upon for years ;-) So here I am. It's so nice to be able to exchange views with a group of people with the same aim (I see my boyfriends eyes glaze over when I talk about calories, carbs or exercise. He pretends to listen but I'm sure he's thinking about the exhaust on his motorbike or something similair.. yuk ;-) HAVE A GREAT SOUTHBEACH WEEKEND FOLKS. Bev x

P.S I also quit smoking, cold turkey, almost 6 months ago, after 30 years of nicotine abuse.. I am an addict but I will never take another puff. It is SO WORTH IT (I found that the incessant nicotine chatter/debate/demand going on in my head eased off around the 4 month mark and now I barely think about it.. maybe a flleeting thought in a trigger situation but no sweat at all. I am very comfortable in my quit) Once I got my taste buds back I had a period where I thought cheeseburgers were food from the god's... so delicious :-))) So I so understand you Jayne.. and admire what you're going through. 166 lbs.. the same as last week. Well, at least I haven't gained and I'm really trying to use the whole experience as a lifestyle change. I'm trying to learn how to plan ahead to avoid binges, eat a mid morning snack so as not to arrive at lunch time and pig out. Today I have brought a tuna salad from home. I'm sure that with perseverance and some fine tuning I'll get there.. and I'm going to make the journey and learning experience part of the fun. My exercise is going really well. Last night I managed my running session much better.. I could even breathe ;-) OK.. a public proclaim for which I will be accountable.. I'm going to do my best to be 163 for the next weigh in (so I must stay focused this weekend) Good luck to all, Bev x

Hi All,

just had THE MONDAY MORNING FROM HELL in the office with my boss ranting and raving and making everything 10 times worse than it actually is. I think i'm going to resign again but really do it this time.

I could down 10 packets of M&M's and smoke or actually eat a cigarette.. aaaaaaagggghh

But I'm not gonna do it 'cos IT'S NOT WORTH IT and won't change anything.

Tomorrow is another day ;-)

Good morning all from sunny Italy Laughing

For once the weather is as it should be at this time of year (been terribly windy and rainy so far this spring) so I'm planning a lunchtime walk on the beach.I like walking in the soft sand because I can feel more muscles being worked in my legs as opposed to walking on cement.

Della: Congratulations on the birth of your grandchild.. Airyanna, what a beautiful name.

Get fit girl: If you'd invited me over I'd have made the cookies disappear in two tics ;-)

Ice queen: Great advice, thankyou. I'm going to buy a piece of really good quality dark  chocolate, put it somewhere difficult to reach (shame I don't have a safe with a triple combination lock ;-) and allow myself a couple of squares per day. I'm also going to take some before pics and measurements. I really do hope that your plateau breaks soon.

Ive decided that in lieu of my little cheat weekend I'm going to do three weeks of phase 1 instead of two and I'm all by myself this weekend ( I LOVE MY ME TIME) so there shouldn't be any temptations.

Monday evening I started the running programme C25K and even though I thought that I was gonna puke after 15 mins,  I finished it, was really pleased with myself and am going to try to repeat it this evening (hopefully with less puke sensation) to be continued....

Jayne: I'm going to use your method of goal setting, so let's say that for this week I will be happy to have maintained at 75.

Ok, so I've got a problem with weekends/the boyfriend/my resolve.

During the working week I am organised and resolved. I'm eating (fairly) well, exercising and sticking to SB. The weekend arrives (another holiday weekend), my boyfriend arrives with chocolates and dinner reservations (I don't like cooking) and my resolve goes out the window. I am SO ANGRY with myself.

Note to self: hope you've learnt your lesson!

Moving on.. what's done is done and next weekend WILL be better.

Good morning South Beachers Smile

I think I'm ahead of you timewise.. it's Thursday morning in not so sunny Italy and here is my weight:

75.3 kg

so I've lost a couple of kilos which brings me back to my starting point before my pre South Beach binge.

I am happy and confident that slowly but surely I'll reach my goal.
