The deficit is definitely the most important thing to concentrate on because the amount you need to eat changes with the amount of calories you're burning. :) |

I'm pretty sure that your body burns more calories naturally when it is trying to fight off illness, so I wouldn't cut back. You want to make sure that you have what you need to feel better sooner. :) |

I personally would weigh only the parts I'm going to eat :) However if you don't want to carry them already cut I would weigh one without the core and use that weight for an average of the following apples of about the same size. |

Technically a calorie is a calorie, but even though I'm only a lacto-ova veggie and not a vegan, I find that it is much easier to eat the right amount of calories thanks to lots of veggies and fruit. Plus because you have to be careful about what you eat in order to be healthy you are more aware (in my humble opinion, and not that omnivores always don't) of what you put in your body so you can still get all of the nutrients for what your body needs. |
