| Foods | Really Really stupid question... | Jun 09 2008 03:24 (UTC) |

It's a little confusing, but if you look up at the very top of the page to the right, there is a search bar that says, "Find a food, activity, recipe, or forum entry", if you click on Recipes across the top of that, and then put in your search criteria, it will give you a list to browse through. Very confusing, I know, and it took me a few minutes to figure it out! Good Luck! |

Hi, I am not sure what you are eating that causes it, but I have had it in the past too. What made it go away for me is to use Therabreath Toothpaste and Mouthwash. You can find it at Walgreens or CVS. You can also find it online. http://www.therabreath.com. It is a little pricey, but if you've had it this long, you're probably ready to do something to get rid of it. I hope this helps, good luck! |

| Weight Loss | thoughts on Weight Watchers vs. CC? | May 16 2008 15:35 (UTC) |

I agree with you. Personally I find it easier to track my calorie and nutritional information instead of how many points I have. Not only that, but I was *always* hungry on WW. I find using CC to be much more flexible than WW is. However, I know of many people who have lost weight using both, so I think it is a personal choice of what works best for you. |

Hi, congratulations on reaching your goal weight in December! I think your idea of taking a day off here and there is a good idea. Sometimes what happens is that the body just gets completely used to what you are doing. I think maybe you need to consider taking a FULL day off, NO exercise maybe once or twice a week, and see if this helps to shake your body out of where you're at. You might also try varying your diet more than you normally do. If you typically eat similar or same foods all the time, this might be part of the problem. I hope you are able to get back to where you want to be! Good luck! |

| Fitness | Anyone hear of a Periformis Muscle? Sort of like sciatic nerve pain. | Mar 07 2008 04:48 (UTC) |

| I don't specifically have this type of pain, but I can definitely relate. My suggestion would be to search your area and find a massage therapist that specializes in multiple types of massage. It might take a while, but it is definitely worth it. That way, if one thing doesn't help, another might. Plus, you can pretty much be sure that they've seen your condition before. Good luck and I hope you are pain free soon! | |||

My favorite is Fiber One Oats & Chocolate Bars (140 cals but 9 g of fiber) raw carrots & broccoli with with 1 tsp Naturally Fresh Lite Ranch (@ 13 cals) Fruit is always good, of course. If I'm craving sweets I'll allow myself one square of dark chocolate - usually around 55 cals, depending on the manuf.

| Weight Loss | Full vs. Satisfied | Feb 29 2008 19:47 (UTC) |

If you are eating food that is so boring that you don't want to eat it, I would suggest finding either new recipes or checking out http://www.eatingwell.com. I make curry chicken, meat loaf, lemon chicken, hamburgers, etc. I am not starving, nor am I eating baked fish and veggies for dinner every night and have lost 10 pounds in 7 weeks. I may not be losing fast, but I'm not miserable, either! Since you eat out alot, there is a website that lists the best foods to choose from, from all over the country, it is http://www.healthydiningfinder.com/site/ It can take some time to find things you like to eat that are healthier, as well as be able to recognize when you are full, instead of completely stuffed. Good luck! |

| Weight Loss | Why am I so hungry today?! | Feb 23 2008 04:43 (UTC) |

| Do you eat breakfast? I find that if I don't eat anything in the morning, I am usually more hungry the rest of the day. Also, about a week to two weeks before TOTM, I find that I am more hungry every day than I normally am. Could that be it for you? | |||

| Fitness | Burn meter is going up??? | Feb 14 2008 23:31 (UTC) |
|
Your burn meter shows how many calories you have burned, and will burn for the day. When you add an activity, this burns more calories than you had without the activity, which causes the burn meter to go up. |

| Weight Loss | Period Weight | Feb 08 2008 17:07 (UTC) |

I'd say it's hard to tell precisely what's period weight and how much you truly lost, but I will say that your friend is right that if you weighed yourself right BEFORE, and then you weighed yourself after, that definitely at least 2-3 pounds of that might be water retention weight from your period. However, it is entirely possible that some of that weight is truly weight lost and not just water. The best time to weight yourself to get the most accurate weight, so I've read, is exactly one week after the start of your period. Good luck on your journey! |

Hi Dragon! I had to jump in and say hello. I'm not too far from you in San Antonio. I usually buy fresh fruit, produce, soup, and side items for most meals at my local HEB, and then stock up on lean ground beef and chicken at Sam's to save money. I can get a 6lb bag of frozen boneless skinless chicken breasts for $13 there. Membership is $40.00 but it pays for itself (to me) in the amount we save by buying in bulk. Whole Foods is very pricey, but fun to shop in because they have so many neat things. Good luck with your shopping! |

| Weight Loss | How long to wait before adjusting/tweaking calories | Jan 27 2008 01:16 (UTC) |
|
| Don't worry about those two pounds - it is normal for your weight to fluctuate, and our bodies change so much (even on the shot) over the course of a month. If you are eating healthy and within your calorie range, don't let it get you down! You could weigh yourself tomorrow and be under the 2 pounds you gained! It could also just be, as you said, water retention from eating too much salt. Keep up the great work! | |||
| Weight Loss | Slow and steady wins the race | Jan 20 2008 05:15 (UTC) |

Hi Lizzy, That same lightbulb went on for me at the beginning of the year! Every other time I've tried to lose weight over the past 8 years, it was always about how much I could lose, and quickly. And every time, I failed. I've tried South Beach, Atkins, Weight Watchers, phentermine (nasty, nasty stuff!), lots of different diet supplements that have actually damaged my heart. This year, I vowed it would be different, and my approach is to just change my eating habits, try to eat healthier, control my portions, and most importantly, to get my exercise in! So even though technically I have 60 pounds to lose, my goal for 2008 is to lose 40 of that, over the course of this year. I got an exercise bike for Christmas and it has gotten me motivated. I know some people say not to weight yourself daily, but I find that it keeps me motivated, even if my weight doesn't change daily. Within the last two weeks, I've already lost 3 pounds! I just started using calorie-count again last week, and it has already made a difference for me to be able to track weight, food and activity. Congratulations on the start of what I know will be a very successfull journey! Keep up the great work! Amber |

| Foods | Flax Seeds?? | Jan 20 2008 03:06 (UTC) |

Hi Shauna, It really depends on the store, but I've seen them mostly on the vitamin supplements aisle in a regular grocery store, but in some health food stores, they might be in a small refrigerated section just for flax seed and flax seed oil. They have sort of a nutty flavor to me, and yes, they are very very good for you. I grind them and put them in oatmeal, on salads, just about anything. They are very high in the good fats, high in fiber, and can help lower cholesterol levels, even offer relief from certain conditions like arthritis. There is alot of information, if you are interested (this is the kind that I buy) at http://www.heintzmanfarms.com. You are right, you do have to grind them, or they will go right through your system whole. Good Luck! Amber |
