If that's the way you love your coffee, then I say just keep it that way. You don't want to be giving up the things you love, and 3 a day isn't ridiculous anyway.

Hey Everyone!

I'm a bride who's playing the maintenance game. I'm not looking to lose any weight (I did all of that a few years ago) but I am trying to stay exactly the size as when I ordered my dress. I was pretty much the exact measurements of the size that I ordered, so I'd like to stay that way and save some alteration money :).

My wedding is June 21, 2008.

Hi everyone!

I'm getting married on June 21, 2008. I don't want to lose weight, but I do want to have nicely toned arms for the wedding.

Wedding plans done so far:
- church is booked for a 2pm wedding
- hall is booked for dinner/dance
- photographer is booked

We both still need to choose our attendants... I've asked one girl to be in my wedding party, but that's as far as we got. Any suggestions/tips on how to pick people for your wedding party?

The dress shopping has started, but I haven't picked one yet.

I want to be camping NOW! :)
Ryan and I will be camping for 4 nights starting the 20th of this month. yay!

We bring beer... coolers... other alcohol (but we don't drink all the time.. honest) the hand-crank blender that we got last year. Fruit for smoothies in the hand-crank blender.... Umm.. s'mores. hotdogs. hiking. swimming. canoeing. relaxing.

I love camping. and camp breakfast with the Coleman stove is the best.

Hey everyone!

I was going to write in here the other day, but I didn't have the time.

I'm Vicki. I'm 28 years old. I'm from Southwestern Ontario, Canada.

I started running in 5 and 8 K races in October. Currently, I am part of a running clinic for people who already run. I'm hoping to decrease my 5K time to under 25 min.

Here are some race results of mine:

5K:
October 15, 2007 - 25:30
April 21, 2007 - 25:10

8K:
February 3, 2007 -  41:36.8
February 18, 2007 - 44:01
April 14, 2007 - 41:00

anyone?

I know that it's not necessarily all that important for a 5K race, but I want to figure out a good routine so that I can use it for future races and feel my best at the start and finish lines.

from http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/chewing-ice/ AN01278

"Doctors use the term "pica" to describe craving and chewing substances that have no nutritional value ? such as ice, clay, cornstarch and paper. Craving and chewing ice (pagophagia) is often associated with iron deficiency anemia ? although it may be associated with other nutritional problems as well. In some individuals, pica is a symptom of emotional problems, such as stress, obsessive-compulsive disorder or a developmental disorder."

I do it, too.

I'm the same with hard candies, though. I just can't keep them in my mouth without crunching them up.

I've also heard that it could be a sign of low iron. OR that it's a sign of Pica disorder.

You're right about the higher calories in Canada. I just checked my box of GoLEAN and it's 200 cal per cup of cereal.

I eat it almost every morning, but I mix it with some All-Bran.
1/2 cup of Kashi GoLEAN and a 1/4 cup of All-Bran with 1/2 cup of skim milk.

Thanks! And you were thinking of me? really? cool.

The conditions were definitely not ideal today, but they could've been much worse as well. The roads were snow-covered and there was some blowing snow when running past a large field, but other than that, the sun was shining and it wasn't bad out.

According to The Weather Network, the conditions at race start time were as follows (in celcius):

Temperature: -11 C
Feels like: -21 C
Wind (km/h): NW 33

I am kind of glad that the winter races are done now, though. Bring on the spring races!

I'm heading to a running store tomorrow to pick up my race kit for Sunday's race. I'll see what they have. I'm planning on joining a running group at the other running store soon, too. That should help for future races.

Thank you, Tammy.

I was going to go for a nice long run last night, but when I went out, the snow started to pick up and it was making my eyes water and just wasn't fun. I ended up only running 3 km. But at least I did something. If I had run at least 10 yesterday, I would've taken today off from running and then tomorrow gone for a nice, easy, short run.

So now that my plan went all out of whack, I'm not sure what I'm doing. :)   I might take my lunch break to hop on the treadmill at the gym for a half hour or so and maybe still go for my nice, leisurely, run tomorrow... does that make sense?

Thanks, HK! It went better than expected.

I have another 8K on the 18th of this month, so hopefully I'll even see a wee bit o' improvement. (as long as I get my butt outside to run lots between now and then).

I've posted a picture from the race.

Good point, HK. I'd probably just spill the water all over me, which isn't bad in the summer, but it's the dead of winter...

weather forecast in Ottawa is calling for high of -5°C and a low of -14°C for Saturday. The race is at 8:30 am, so it won't be anywhere near the high yet.
