Ohhh Violet18, I can completely relate!

Last summer, I was at the beach...I picked a really private spot so i could get a tan.  I was wearing a bikini, but i already felt self-conscious enough as it was when two little boys started running up the beach...All of a sudden, I heard them snickering, and one of them said "Hey look!  It's a beached whale!"  I packed my stuff up and left the beach as soon as those kids were out of sight.  If he had said something to me directly, I probably would have said something about how he looked like his face had been run over by a car...

The jeans that were super tight on me a month and a half ago can now be put on and taken off without unbuttoning or unzipping :-)  I think it might be time for some new jeans!

1500 calories is not terrible!  Don't get down on yourself.  It's still probably far less than what your body is used to.  Keep in mind, especially if you plan to get into any kind of workout routine, that your body will need those extra calories.  The last thing you need is for your metabolism to shut down on you.

To give you an idea, my day usually starts out with cereal (a 3/4 cup serving of Cheerios or Special K) with a half cup of fat free milk, at around 8:30AM.  At around 10:00, I have a piece of fruit.  For lunch around 12:00, it's veggies and/or salad, with some sort of protein (turkey, chicken, eggs, a little peanut butter with apples) and some string cheese.  At around 2:00, I have a Fiber One bar, or a piece of whole grain toast with apple butter on it.  I might have one other snack before going home, and that's usually a fruit cup, a fat free pudding, or baby carrots.  For dinner, more veggies and chicken or ground turkey breast, and maybe a little whole grain rice.  That is a normal work day.  On the weekends, I have to get a little more creative because I don't really have a schedule.  The basic idea is to get in your major food groups...but a little variety doesn't hurt, so you can take whatever works for you and try to make a schedule for yourself like that.

Good for you for eliminating almost all soda!  That can be a really hard thing to do!  Trust me, I know!  Just hang in there and don't give up.  It's so easy to get frustrated.  That's usually what ends my diets, but I made a pledge to myself this time around to remember that, no matter what, I am a healthier person for the way I am eating now, and if the weight wants to take its time coming off, then fine!  As long as I can go down a few sizes and feel better inside and out, then the weight can do its thing!

I completely understand how you feel.  I am 5'8" and weighed 251 as of two weeks ago...now down to about 240.  It's so difficult to change your lifestyle...especially when you tend to eat as a coping mechanism.  I eat when I am stressed.  I eat when I am sad.  I eat when I am bored.  I eat when I am nervous...Since I tend to feel stressed, sad, bored, or nervous at least once or twice a day, this is a problem.

Losing weight really does require a lot of support.  In my opinion, though, it's so hard to accept support from people who have NO idea what you are going through.  They either think that it's no big deal to lose all the weight (even though to us it seems pretty insurmountable at times), or they think they can help you by "dieting with you"...big help when they only have 15 pounds or less to lose!!!  My goal is to just never give up.  If I mess up once, I am not going to get down on myself.  I am just going to pick myself up and dust myself off, and say "hey, i am human.  I make mistakes."  I am willing to help support you if you like!  I am sure we can do this in a healthy, reasonable, and maybe even fun way!!! :-)

I have heard about Diet Coke making you hungrier...It's interesting, because I always thought it was just my own problem, being hungry all the time.  But, I definitely notice a difference in my appetite now.  It's amazing how well I can get through the day now on 5-6 small meals.

Wow, jfontananet...I can't IMAGINE quitting caffeine cold turkey.  It gives me a headache just thinking about it....
