Vegetarian Non vegan spouse? Feb 08 2008

I have a very supportive partner but it’s difficult to coordinate meal. We are often eating different things because trying to mix a vegan & meat eating person into one meal is almost impossible.

Okay Family is a completely different story. I bring my own meal to every family function/gathering. I’m just looked at as the person no-one can make a meal for and I like it that way. If they don’t completely understand the concept of Vegan then I don’t want them making my dinner anyway.

Dining out is the hardest thing. I can never find anything on a menu so I always end up eating salad. Sometimes I can find a plain baked potato but I’m always worried they are cutting it with a butter knife. When were going out to dinner with friends or family I always pack a road snack just in case I’m starving when I leave the restaurant.

Tell you’re husband that you are eating a vegan diet so you can live forever together! You’re improving your health & body. You have to get him to see how it benefits him. Good Luck!!

Calorie Count I'm annoyed with the recipe analyzer Jan 28 2008

I’ve been having a problem recipe analyzer too because it doesn’t recognize vital Wheat gluten.   I can find it under the food search (Hodgson Mill vital Wheat Gluten) but when I try to add it into a recipe analyzer it won’t come up. Being a vegan, I use wheat gluten in a ton of my recipes.  How do I get this fixed or who do I email to ask them to fix it.  Any help would be wonderful.  Thanks!!kris

I love keto slim protein powder.  Only chocolate, cappuccino & strawberry are really gross.  I mix it with soy milk.  And sometimes when I’m allowing myself a little treat I put in a banana & peanut butter….OMG its heaven!! I usually buy it at my local health food store but I found a website with the Calorie/Protein information http://vitanetonline.com/description/NP47442/ vitamins/KETOSLIM-CHOCOLATE-SHAKE-1-5LB/

I have Breville compact Juicer.  Its works very well!  I think it was about $80 (bed bath&beyond).  Is there a website where you get your recipes for you muffins & soups using the pulp.  I throw out a ton of pulp everyday and I would love to use it.

Than you so much!  I never thought about the lost of fiber.  I was thinking if I’m drinking all those calories at least I’m getting the fiber.  I love juicing so I’m going to keep on doing it.  I think I’m going to try more veggie juices then fruit.

Thank you again for the advice!!Smile

Vegetarian I want to become vegan! but... Nov 07 2007

I was in your situation a few weeks ago.  I didn’t know where to start.  The first thing I did was research online.  Found www.goveg.com very helpful.  Great meal plans to help you get started.  I also read a few books.  My first book was “skinny bitch”.  Great book but it didn’t tell me how exactly to become vegan. It just made me want to become vegan even more. The book had a ton of great tips, I highly recommend you read it.  The second book I got was “the idiots guide to living vegan”.  This book rocks!  I found it extremely helpful!  Breaks everything down into simple terms

Good luck!  I also got a lot of help here!

Vegetarian do vegan's drink coffee?? Oct 30 2007

I really don’t drink that much coffee, maybe a cup in the morning. I want to cut it out of my day completely because I’m concerned that coffee is affecting my skin.  I want clear glowing skin (doesn’t everyone) and I’ve heard the caffeine destroys your skins texture.

It?s about 1400 calories a day.  My goal is about 1500 on CC so I think it?s about where I want to be.  I can add a apple or banana to get up to 1500.  1400 not bad on a day I don?t workout too.
