I should have waited a day to weigh in.  Today I stepped on the scale and it was 185.2!  I drank a LOT yesterday (water and powerade... not alcohol) so I think a lot of that was water weight that I was finally able to shed.  Now lets see if I can keep it off for a week until next weight in!

Hey everyone!  Sorry I have been MIA for a while.  I am working 2 jobs and taking dance lessons, while trying to get ready to move, so life is pretty crazy right now.  While I love both of my jobs, it has definitely taken its toll on me.  I was salsa dancing 3 times a week and taking a cardio dance class at the gym 2 nights, but with my second job, my cardio class has gone bye bye.  Salsa lessons are still a great workout, but those will be ending soon.  Frown  Right now I am having the hardest time eating healthy foods.  I know that it takes strict discipline, but it is so hard to think after working 12 hours that when I go to the grocery store all I can think about is convenience.  My breakfasts are pretty healthy (nonfat yogurt and fruit) but lunch and dinner are often not so great.  I tried to make a rule of only eating fried foods one day a week but that lasted less than 24 hours when the chef at work accidentally gave me fries with my sandwich instead of fruit.  But I've been drinking water and I've been maintaining, so that is good at least.  I still have a lot to lose, but I figure that if I can at least make it through September, I can cut down on my hours a little bit and get back to the gym.  Just keep me in your prayers though cause life is really crazy right now!

The only pointer I would give is don't give up!  If you have a bad week and gain, it is pretty much guaranteed that someone else on the team had an awesome week and lost a ton!  We are all in this together and we all need to participate even when things aren't going so great!

I really wanted to name my future daughter Jewell.  It is my grandma's maiden name.  But my friend named her daughter that so now it is going to be stuck as a middle name... maybe.  My middle name is Hope which I used to hate, but I now love.  My best friend's name is Joy which I also love for a middle name.  But on the very slim chance that I end up with the guy who I currently have a crush on, I think it would be fun to stick with the initials BHB (his current initials and mine should we get married.)  Someone mentioned the name Brielle.  I think I really like it.  I used to have a bunch of names all picked out, but I think I'll just wait and see.  My parents used Bible names for my brothers and me, and I like that, but I do want a bit of uniqueness for my kids.  Anyway, I have a LONG time to worry about it cause I don't think I'll have kids for a while.  I need a guy first!

Hey Everyone!  I'm so excited to be on the Green Team again!  I was on the green team last challenge and we totally dominated!  Let's do it again this time! 

My biggest challenge this time around will be finding time to exercise and planning ahead to eat healthy.  I started a second job between challenges and between working 2 jobs and taking dance lessons I barely have time to breathe.  Fortunately the salsa classes are great exercise, but I miss my cardio classes at the gym that I used to take.  As far as food goes, I try to take frozen lunches to work but dinner has gone from being a healthy home cooked meal to fast food that I can eat in the hour I have between jobs.  It is so challenging but I know that if I actually plan ahead on the weekends I can be ok during the week.  It just takes a lot to get up and do that when all I want to do is catch up on the lost sleep from the week!   So I will definitely be needing encouragement for that!

I hope that all is well with the rest of you!  Go Green!

For it.  Why not?  They had tiger Woods a few years ago, why not have a tribute to one of the worlds' most famous international superstars.  I doubt that it will draw people to the fair who wouldn't already go, but if it does, more revenue isn't going to hurt us.

Wow, Losingit!  That is an awesome story of God taking care of you!  When we hear all the bad news about places closing, it is so nice to hear about God's blessings!

 

Jodifer - Yes, I am definitely doing BLC12!  I loved BLC11 and my team (The green team) kicked butt.  I think a good part of that was because we had a lot of team unity right from the beginning.  I'm excited to see who will be on my team for the new challenge.  Who knows, maybe we'll be on the same team!

Nikki thanks for being our awesome team captain!  It totally rocks that we lost over 100 pounds!  I only wish that I could be on your team again for BLC 12!  If not, I still hope that you get to 150!  You can do it!

Hey all!  I asked if I could join a while back and then I have just been hiding and reading posts.  I've lost over 12 pounds since joining CC in April.  It is slow going, but I'm not going to complain.  I participated in the Biggest Loser 11 Challenge and I loved it.  I would definitely encourage anyone who would like the support to join a future challenge.  Anyway, I'm at 186 for now.  I'll probably go back into hiding until the end of the next challenge.  Between working 2 jobs and taking salsa lessons, I barely have time to use this site for anything beyond the calorie meter!

When I was in college I was an avid poster on a message board run by and filled with students at my school.  I knew a couple of people from class or student government, but I met a lot more from the site.  They would have parties every once in a while and afterwards pictures were always posted online of who got drunk and which girls were cute.  I would always try to place the faces with the names.  One day my res hall floor had a Halloween party.  I posted about it on the site, and sure enough 3 guys game.  I remember standing in my room with my door locked and staring out the peephole wanting to meet them but being terrified.  I eventually went to some of the parties and got to know them.  Five years later I still keep in touch with quite a few of them (the joys of facebook) but I am close friends with only a few of them. 

 

I really like the safety of the internet.  The anonymity of it allows me to be myself without holding back or pretending to be someone I'm not.  When people get to know me online, they are seeing me as I really am.  So when we make the jump from online friendship to face to face friendship, that relationship is based on them really knowing me.

I just posted my weight.  Another 1.4 pounds gone!  Wow!  What a way to end the challenge.  Thank you all so much for doing this with me!  This has been so much fun and I feel like I have online friends who are encouraging me every step of the way.  Keep up the good work, and I'll see you around next time!  I hope that we can be on the same team again!

I just realized that this is the last week.  Wow.  I can't believe how far I have come and how far the green team has come and how far all of us in the challenge have come.  I lost a total of 11.2 pounds.  While my first weigh in was slightly skewed because of my TOM, I still can't believe how much I have lost.  Thank you everyone for the encouragement and the challenge.  I look forward to participating in the next one!

I think my ideal guy (in my head) is tall and fit with broad shoulders.  He should be strong but not ripped and a nice thin layer of fat covering him.  I want someone huggable and for me that means not rock hard.  That being said, the other day my friend told me that he had been working out.  He said " feel my pecs" so of course I did.  Rock hard.  Plus when I patted him on the arm, I could tell that he had very defined muscles.  It was such a turn on and I have no idea why.  I think it just goes to show the difference between emotional/psychological needs (wanting that tall yet huggable protecter type) and inherant physical desires (sculpted body, strong and fit.) 

On the flip side, when I was dating my ex we talked a lot about body shape and desire.  I was a good 75 pounds overweight when we dated.  He told me flat out that he was attracted to women who were physically fit, but that he liked me for me and that he liked my body because it was the body that came with me.  We would cuddle on the couch and he would comment on how soft and squeezable I was.  While visually he may have wished that I was slim, he loved holding me and loved the comfort that came with hugging a larger woman.  He even used to play with my stomach fat until I told him that I didn't like it.

We lost 100 pounds!!!!  Technically we are at 102 gone!  GONE!!!!!  That is sooo cool!  I don't know about you, but my week has been insane.  I doubt I'll have a strong showing this week (TOM and all sorts of insanity) but I know that for our final week, things will be looking great!  I am so excited for this and I hope that all of us can finish strong!  Keep up the good work guys!  Go GREEN!!!!

Nikki - my fingers are crossed! 

I posted my weight and man does it feel good to see that scale drop!  I read some articles on superfoods recently and have been incorporating a few of them into my diet.  More fruit, more nuts, more yogurt.  Also, more dark chocolate!  (In moderation of course!!!)  Anyway, that, combined with pushing myself to exercise in addition to dancing, and drinking tons of water has helped.  I'm really excited to see how I can end this challenge, and I'm even more excited to see us as a team break 100!  We can do it!

I think the diva rules are hilarious!  I wished I traveled more so I could be like that.  I'm actually on the other side.  I work at a hotel... a Hilton Garden Inn to be exact.  Our brand caters to business travelers and we know that people are trying to be healthy and stay in shape.  We have a 24 hour fitness center as well as stay fit kits that guests can check out for free that have yoga mats, resistance bands, and even light hand weights so they can work out in their room.  We also have a 24 hour pantry that is has "healthy" snacks availble for purchase (Special K bars, soup, nuts, trailmix and lean cuisine) and all rooms come with a  microwave and a fridge in case you want to bring your own food.  Obviously I'm biased and I think everyone should stay at a Hilton hotel, but I know that isn't always going to happen.  But, if you do have some sort of say in where you will be staying, try to find a hotel with similar amenities.  Also, bring your swimwear cause we all know that water aerobics burn calories.  And, as someone said earlier, use the stairs as your stairmaster!  If you are having an event in a hotel you can also call the hotel in advance, tell them that you are on a restricted diet and ask what they are serving for the event.  You may get put on hold for a few minutes, but it will allow you to plan your caloric intake in advance.

Speaking of smoking, guess who is on her way to being smoking hot?  Me!  I stepped on the scale this morning, and I have officially lost 11.2 pounds!  AHHHHHH!!!  I passed the 10 pound mark!  I'm so excited!
