I'm not a mathmetician, but by my calculations...if 20 runners will do 45 miles a week (average, obviously some will do more, others will do less), we can get around the world in 1 year...right?  20x45=900    We have approximately 6 weeks left.   900x6=5,400, and we have just under that to go...Can we do it?  Or is my run in the heat going to my head?????

2.5 miles for me, and wrm so true; I have told my husband so many times (when he asks why I decided to take up running at 35 and run my first 1/2 Marathon at 36) that this is something athletic that I can actually do--I was always considered an "egg-head" throughout H.S. and college, not an athlete; I guess it's never too late to become an "athlete"!  Thanks for the post!!

19 miles for me--13.1 of which was my first Half Marathon.  My goal was to do it in 3 hours; I did it in 2 hours 56 min. 24 sec.  The wind chill for the start was 39 degrees.  It warmed all the way up to 51 degrees.  Awesome fun!!

Fitness Starting P90x this week-are the 'recovery shakes' a good idea? Apr 01 2008

The orange recovery drink is so worth it.  I only let myself have it if I feel I have really kicked it during my workout, and it really does help recover before the next workout.

My b-day is St. Patrick's Day, perfect day for a little goal...I'm hovering in the 140's-139's region and my goal is to be solidly in the 130's by the 17th.  Good luck, everyone!!

5' 1.5"  35 (almost 36) years old.  I weigh 140 and want to get down to about 120.  I was 117 when I got pregnant with my first child 7 years ago, but I had no muscle. So, I figure when I add in a lilttle muscle gain, if I get between 120 and 125, I'll be about the same size, although it's a lot harder now than in my 20's.  I'm training for a 1/2 Marathon in May, and that's helping a lot.  Good job, everyone on the pounds lost, and keep it up!!!
