| Foods | whats in women body builders kitchens? | Nov 22 2009 22:45 (UTC) |
|
Hey there - I "eat clean" like all the body builders out there... here's what my fridge/freezer/pantry is filled with: - Ground Grass-Fed Beef, Bison, Elk, Ostrich, Salmon, Hamachi Collars, Eel, Spinach, Tuna (jarred in olive oil), Olives, Capers, Eggs, Egg Whites, Bell Peppers, Cherry Tomatoes, Spaghetti Squash, Canned Pumpkin, Stevia, Olive Oil, Olives, Canned Chicken, Green Beans, Asparagus (frozen), Energy Drinks (calorie free), Sparkling Water, Water Chestnuts, Seaweed, Yam Noodles & Kelp Noodles, Sesame Seeds, Herbs & Spices GALORE, Brussels sprouts (frozen), broccoli (frozen), onions & leeks.... Generally I eat decent sized meals but they're healthy and supplement my work outs accordingly... for example: today I had some purred pumpkin & an egg before my work out and right after I had an egg (I am obsessed with eggs lately) and about 4 ounces of canned salmon (vital choice salmon rocks - google it if interested)... - What sort of meals do you eat every two hours? I don't follow the 2 hour rule... but I do eat when I am hungry - I eat my 3 meals and probably one snack in the late afternoon before dinner get's started (cooking that is)... which works for me - everyone is different though. |

very very healthy! onions have an antioxidant called queritine in them that helps prevent the on-set of allergies, revs energy and many more things: google it! Plus: hello, onions = vegetable = fiber = healthy! :) |

I just signed on for training session and I have to say, without him... I would DO NO weight lifting AT ALL... so I am so glad I did it!!! My sessions cost $57 an hour which I think is pretty darn good considering back in the day I used to have to pay $100 or so!!! But seriously, health & fitness is so very important to me, that I would pay anything! ha ha! It's a good idea to watch the trainers at your gym (if you go to one) and see what types of moves they make others do and then ask their clients how they like their trainers, that way you get to know his/her work ethic! |

Turkey Breast, Water, Honey, contains 2% or Less of: Salt, Sugar, Sodium Lactate, Sodium Phosphate, Sodium Diacetate, Sodium Erythorbate, Sodium Nitrite. = Ingredients in Sara Lee's Honey Roasted Turkey Breast.... * Turkey really shouldn't need to have sugar lurking within it... but since you bought HONEY roasted, I guess you sort of wanted extra sugar, no? As for the other ingredients, they're just like the Oscar Mayer brand... not something to eat on a daily basis. * 50 Calories = 4 slices (isn't too bad though - if you're just watching your calories and nothing else...)

How do you know you burned 800 calories? Are you going by what the machine reads because if that's the case, then you most likely burned about 25% LESS than you think... those machines are simply estimates... even when you plug in your height, weight and age. |

My mother is 5'2''... 103 pounds and 60 years old! She looks absolutely amazing and works out on a daily basis! It takes dedication to a healthy lifestyle in order to stay at a weight you were back in your 20s... luckily I have my mother to look up to - |

My tummy is full... but I want more food... but I also don't want to be bloated because I would LOVE to go out with a guy I'm interested in tonight... except I have to get up at 4 am tomorrow... Oh yes, 4 am... that will be a fun work out because my friend meets me there and we're pretty delirious until... we leave! ha ha! Oh and then I have my journalism class... I have to report, interview, film, edit, write, the whole shabang between 9 & 11 am! wo wo! Then it goes on air! Oh and I have so much to do tomorrow afternoon including a weight training session - but doing all this is so worth it because... Friday morning I fly HOME for thanksgiving break! An entire week of NOTHING NESS!!! |

There will be a DELICIOUS surprise in the center... (UNDER the hairy stuff)... aka: the HEART! I love artichokes more than... well, you know! ha ha - actually no I am kidding, you know is better but still, they're up there... and to continue on with this mind set, they are an aphrodisiac as well! ha ha! But seriously, if you ever find artichoke hearts (canned, jarred or frozen) you can whip up this delicious mixture of tomatoes, olives, capers, olive oil, garlic, basil, salt, pepper, artichokes & if you want... anchovies and tuna!! MM MM Good! That's seriously my favorite flavor combo! |

Considering a person cannot really change themselves... I have come to love myself and everything I do... I am pretty positive, energetic, spunky, etc and think we need more people like that in this world! ha ha! I also love the fact that I am extremely outgoing and am not afraid AT ALL to speak my mind... although it sometimes gets me into trouble, ha ha! |

| The Lounge | What does Thanksgiving mean to you? | Nov 18 2009 23:28 (UTC) |
16 |
Thanksgiving to me = - My dad making bacon, sausage stuffing @ 7 am - Relaxing all day in the cozy house (with a fire going) - Hanging out with my family (and playing games of all sorts) - Vegetable side dishes (that I make - bring on the brussels sprouts) - A 20 pound turkey (mm mm good!) - Pumpkin Pie... even though I don't eat it
*I'm really sad though cause this year I am going home but my siblings won't be there so I really don't think I'm going to be celebrating Thanksgiving... cause well, my dad makes all this food but all I eat is the turkey and the veggies I MAKE! ha ha! Oh well, my siblings will be home for X-Mas so that's good! Plus, I really just want to go home and sleep for the next week: and not think about school, work, ANYTHING! *I love sitting down to dinner though and having everyone recall what they are thankful for that happened in the last year! It's always fun to hear what my family accomplished! |

I love fennel - I simply make it by slicing, rubbing it with olive oil & salt & pepper and broiling/roasting until tender... sun-dried tomatoes & olives also goes really well along with this vegetable! |

Oh man, I feel your pain!! At school I live alone so it's not a problem and I pounce on food come 6pm (on the dot! ha hh a)... but when I go home for breaks (like in a week) my father always takes FOREVER to cook dinner and it ALWAYS has to be a family sit down meal WHEN HE WANTS IT... so 8pm is the norm for him! It drives me crazy - I have to basically wake up later in the day (oh yes, 8am as oppose to 7am ha ha)... and eat a later lunch, but most of the time that doesn't even help... Some good snack options that I like: - Bell Peppers, Cherry Tomatoes, Olives, Yam Noodles, Pureed Pumpkin, Raw Cabbage & Olive Tapenade, Canned Green Beans, Hard Boiled Eggs, Small cans of chicken or tuna or salmon or mackerel or sardines, spaghetti squash with some tomato sauce, steamed spinach or a yam with cinnamon sprinkled on top! (You could do that with apples or pears too!) |

| Foods | Stevia? | Nov 13 2009 23:00 (UTC) |

Personally I love stevia and use it every day - I've read some pretty good things about it... but of course there will always be conflicting views on everything! And I am pretty sure the "mystery" will never be solved! I think it is probably healthier than aspartame though... but of course, research is the key to figuring it out for sure. |

| Foods | No Trans Fat? | Nov 13 2009 22:57 (UTC) |
|
I'm glad you at least read the label!
For me, I don't really need to worry about these ingredients because I don't eat packaged foods very much... but it is pretty irking to know that companies can still tote .5 grams per serving of trans fat and list it as having NONE! Makes no sense in my mind, but then again, does life ever make complete sense?! |

Mmm! Arctic Char! Another one of my favorites but for some reason Whole Foods stopped carrying it, let's just hope that's a seasonal thing...
Since it's pretty much as fatty as salmon, if you are looking to log it in your food log... just search salmon and go from there! Enjoy your fish though - I am jealous! |
