| Weight Loss | Tofu:Good for the skin?? | Nov 07 2009 12:11 (UTC) |

Hi Hedgren, How wonderful it is to run into someone who is so knowleadgable about this. As far as I know there is not a history of that in the family. However; from the sound of all that, it would be something worth a try. You know how it is during major weight loss and trying things to satisfy the curiosity, even when it may just be here-say. I live life now eating healthy and exercising every day. I am going to try tofu for a couple of months for the trial. Also, it is amazing to me that so much goes into this one product. I can't thank you enough for your reply on this one. I really appreciate it. Jan |

| Weight Loss | How shall I celebrate the minus 100 lbs mark? | Sep 06 2009 05:07 (UTC) |

First congratulations miss_cas on your 100 pound mark. I will be joining you in about 26 pounds more. Yet I still have about 30 more pounds I am trying to loose. I think that you should celebrate it by doing just about anything your heart desires as long as it's legal, HA! Seriously it's a great accomplishment and you shoud be very proud of yourself. Keep it up and keep it off forever, you have done it, you can keep doing it. Jan |

You may be right. I did loose the rest of the weight a little too fast. I added the other things to try and build muscle, yet I am still trying to walk alot. Maybe.... hard to tell. 100 pounds all together when I am done has gone crazy during the process. Thank you for the vote of confidence also. Those do mean alot and feel good. Jan |

I know that you're right. I think what happened along the way is I got a hold of a treadmill. I exersize with everything else, but I got addicted to it. I love the treadmill diong 3.5 and would sometimes spend an hour after work every day Just seing the scale go down like it did, I loved it. Also, I would walk during my lunch hours up the YMCA track. I have also gotten to the point where I am very satisfied with what I am eating. On most days, I eat about 1/2 cup of multi-grain cheerios in the morning (I hate breakfast). A large salad for lunch with lettuce, spinach, tomatoe, and about 1/2 c. chicken with seven seas mix salad dressing, and for dinner I usually have a lean quisine dinner. I eat maybe a yogurt, a apple or a banana in between every day. I also take daily supplements, one-a-day, collagen, Vit. A, Vit. C, Calcium, Vit. E, Zinc, fish oil, gelatin, ginko. As of yesterday, I burned my treadmill out. The motor isn't working and getting hot and it started stopping itself after about 5 minutes. I'd like to buy another one, but I wonder if I should just give it up and work more on the bike and other exersize without the treadmill. I still have 30 more pounds to go. I have been at a stand still for about 3 weeks now. Seriously, I am so happy and satisfied with what was doing, I could do it for the rest of my life. Do you think there's a chance this can all be corrected with muscle work and adding more to the calorie intake now? |

Thanks for the motivation everyone. This started with me because of over health reasons. Then as I went along I started looking more at the problem areas. Those problem areas are becoming a nuisance, so I start working on those. Now I think I am letting this become more of a vanity/health issue. |

I guess I am just getting so frustrated. Lost 80 pounds so far. Was 235 and now down to 155. I intend to finish at 130 at a 5' 2" medium frame. 39 years old two child births. The sag between the legs I think will budge in time, it's trying. It's that nasty sac of cottage cheese type skin with fat in it at the bottom of my stomach that has me ticked. I can live with a little bit, but this has not tightened up at all. I do treadmill, exercise bike, weight lifting, strength training, lotion, yhr ball, sit ups, you name it. I am hoping that it will tighten in the end, at least half way. I still have that pot belly to reduce. Jan |

Thank you for the input. I guess it won't be worth it. I agree with the "heartrate" but also without sweating, the pulling of the muscles; such as in strength training and weight lifting is what I have been doing alot of also. Stomach looks like a deflated baloon with gel inside, but I will keep working hard. Was just hoping for an extra boost. Jan |

Na, she has her own treadmill. I never thought of that though, that would be funny trying to walk in a gym with that. Although body builders are known for doing this she said. People get body wraps, they put something on you, then they wrap you in basically saran wrap and this is suppose to be for skin/weight loss. People say it works wonders for them. I may give it a try. When your in the weight loss battle, anything may be worth the test. I lost 78 pounds thus far. Down to 158. |

I went from 235 lbs. to 158 so far. So far I went from a 40C all the way down to a 36B, after all the exersizes and 35 lbs. more to go, I am guessing that it will be a 34A if there is such a size. Yes, it is so sad. But what are you going to do, better than obesity and poor health. Honey, the boobs will still work the same, just won't bounce and sag as much!! lol |

| Weight Loss | Finding Clothes that fit! | Jun 20 2009 23:08 (UTC) |

Hi Nedlptr, You'll probably find that a very large percentage of people who loose alot of weight have the same problem. I was 235 and am now 160. Weight lifting and strength train those arms every day. As for the clothes, I went from a size 20 and a 2X to a size 12 and Large/XL shirts. I dropped very fast between Feb. and April. It is wild how you go into a stand still, and keep working hard and then all of a sudden BAM! I have atleast another 35-40 to go. Clothes are expensive. So, I have looked around. I buy new things, but since I don't intend to wear some of those clothes too long, I found that there are alot of churches, probably alot in your surrounding communities that have clothes give aways. Thats what I did. I gave tons of clothes to the church (7 stuffed to the max trash bag fulls) and picked things out there for myself that I fit in now. I will keep doing that. I am a single mother of two on one income, and boy did it help me more than I can say. Look around. There is a website www.freecycle.com and lots of times people list church clothes give aways there. Best site I ever became a member of. Good Luck!! Jan |

| Weight Loss | Eating meat? | Jun 19 2009 02:08 (UTC) |

You don't have to eat meat, however; getting the protein is important. I am about the same as you. I have been averaging about 1000 to 1200 calories a day. I've trained myself for so long to choose healthy foods that I really don't feel hungry, but sometimes eat because I should. I go out and buy alot of white chicken breast, chop it up into squares after I cook it, freeze it and use it in salads, etc. every day. I do this with fish also. I cook it ahead of time and just pick it out of the freezer and microwave it. Boil up an egg, or what ever. Since I really don't eat alot of meat, I bought the EAS Soy Protein drink mix, and chug one of those down. You can mix that with ice, a banana and it makes for a great milk shake. But do it early and before you exersize. There are many ways to get your protein. This is just a few ideas. |

| Weight Loss | Why am I not losing weight?! | Jun 10 2009 02:22 (UTC) |

I am 39 years old and weighed in at 235 lbs. I had those times, even at first when nothing seemed to be coming off. You'd be suprised how what you do today effects you later. Don't let it discourage you. That's half the reason people say "throw the scale in the trash". You will start dropping. Keep it up and you'll see the effects down the line "BIG TIME". I am now 164 lbs. They also say it took so many years to put it on, you won't loose it overnight. Its not a diet, it has to be a life long commitment, and you can do it. Picture yourself buying those smaller sizes and looking and feeling great! Good luck! |

I have more than a map of all the different colors. It's horrid. If exersize is involved frequently in order to build muscle, do you think most would fade within a year or two, or could it be longer? |

You ain't kiddin. So far I have lost 65 pounds and am now 170. I went from a 40C, down to a 38C, and now I think I may be a 36B. I have no clue what size. I have to go into the dressing room to try bras on now. It's halarious yet sad, I bent over the other day, and they were hanging down like two 3D bananas. Talk about depression. |

| Weight Loss | stretch marks | May 14 2009 00:50 (UTC) |

Hi tatertot911, I asked the same questions so many posts back. My stretch marks are awful too. I dropped from 235 to 173 so far, and loving it. Fitness and eating right is something that I am so sorry I didn't have the moral to do a long time ago. I will not allow the sag or marks to get me down. My hope is that most of it will go away. I have read all the articles that I could and I mix used coffee grinds with olive oil and cut up vitamin e tablets (about 4-5) and get in the shower and rub it all over for about 10 minutes. Picked this up off the internet. Don't know if it will help, but it is a homemade remedy for exfoliating the skin. And IT CAN'T HURT!!. I also use Suave cocoa butter lotion with shea, and over night, I cut up a few more vitamin e tablets and rub it in under the belly where the sag is most yucky. I have been trying to add 50 sit ups per day and any other kind of way to gain some muscle in the abdomen and put my hands together and pray. In the end, with all the will I am putting into the weight loss, I will label it as a success and you should too! Don't let it get you down. I'll bet the more you loose, the better it will get in time. You may be able to do something like this with your legs. Oh, also, I bought a pilate at Wal-Mart. It is a circle that you place between your legs and squeeze and hold. I do this while watching tv or whatever. I just started this about 2 weeks ago and I am starting to see the little bit of sag be a little bit less saggy. Hope all this helps, good luck! Jan |

Thanks, I checked it out, and tried a few. Even though I thought it would be easy, it wasn't for me. However; it is something I am going to incorporate. My thing is I am a single mom of two, with no help, and am lucky if I can find that hour to do it. Treadmilling is easy, weight lifing I am just getting used to, and can't afford the gym. I read about mixing coffee grounds and olive oil with vitamin E tabs. Just tried it today for the first time. Thanks for pointing that out to me, I will use it. Jan |
