| Apparently it gives you slightly different readings throughout the day according to how hydrated you are, if you've eaten, bathed, etc., according to the booklet. Mine have been very, very close to each other, so I haven't worried. Tiamat, there are several ways, some of them really expensive, some of them as easy as a caliper (although that one is apparently not always accurate for all people.) I just bought a scale that claims it can tell your body fat percentage through a low-level electrical signal it sends through your body. The signal can't flow through fat well, but it can flow through muscle and everything else, giving you a body fat reading. Google body fat percentage though, because there is loads of info out there and I'd hate for me to give you limited knowledge. | |||

| Coachdee, this was so insightful. Thank you. I'm so definitely an apple. I've never understood why my stomach is so out of proportion and huge. I will try those new ratios, and the new way of exercising.:) I am going to have to train myself to not feel guilty if I'm not breathing hard!;-) Is vegetarianism a pretty good thing for an apple as long as we get enough protein? | |||

| Hey Erin, how about some nuts and peanut butter, along with sugar free jam? You could get some Matzo or melba toast to spread it on. Matzo is very good. | |||

| Hey Ruthie, It's okay! I give myself a cheat day every Saturday per recommendation from my personal trainer. He advises all of his clients to do this, as then you won't want to cheat during the week, and you'll stay sane. In fact, he told me to have two cheat days a week--I just chose to cut down to one. Maybe just have one beer, if you really feel like it's what you're craving? Don't feel guilty! |

| Thanks guys. Hkellick, OnDemand is a service of my cable company--you can order movies and watch tv shows and workout segments for free. The OnDemand workouts vary, but unfortunately they are usually only 20 minutes long. The thing is, I'm so tired at the end of them because they really work you. I've done cardio blast and a bellydancing shimmy workout. About the calories, I'm hoping 1600 will be okay. I think I'll try it and see. Slappy, when I'm at the gym, I usually do 35-45 minutes on the elliptical and 40 minutes doing circuit training (two sets of 12 reps on about 12 machines.) |

| Weight Loss | Cheat Day | Jun 18 2006 18:41 (UTC) |

| My trainer had told me to have 2 cheat days a week. I scaled it back to one after two months, as this just works better for me. He said that you can have whatever you want on that day. Interestingly, I find that I always have at least one healthy meal on my cheat day. I've never gone hugely overboard. He did say though that if you want to eat something major like a large pizza and a coke, have it because it's your cheat day, and it will keep you sane for the rest of the week. | |||

| Before you join Curves, you may want to look at where your money is going to. The owner/founder gives a ton of his money to a certain political party (to charities too, which is good, but the political affiliation was a bad one for me.) For some of you, this may be a wonderful thing, but for me it wasn't and so I had to quit Curves. | |||

Drea--wear shades, hold your head high and maybe even picture yourself "thin" in your mind as you run if that's what it takes. Or you could run on the elliptical at your college athletic complex if that would be better for you. |

| I used to eat soy protein in L.A. Weight Loss bars, which were so good. However, today I've had a bad run-in with soy, which makes me sad as I used to like eating soy protein as a part of my diet. Now I'm hoping the whey protein doesn't do the same thing. I am so freaking bloated! | |||

Carbs are my weakness, but today's so far number of 63 percent is higher than normal for me. I am generally at 45-53% carbs. I ate a Kashi bar for the first time so that's probably why it's high. I generally try to stay away from too much processed stuff. How did you learn about your allergy, slappy? Did it make you ill? |
