Hi Terri,

i agree with gi-jane that if you dont have any cookies or anything like that at home - you wont eat them . Thats if you live on your own . But if you got more people living in your house who eat that sort of food,then its a different story.Its hard not eat when you see someone else eating it ...

Eating bananas and grapes helped me to stop . I eat bar of kit-kat sometimes (once a week) but not 10-15 a day like i used to  lol . Just try it,see if it will help you . Or buy chromium supplements . I got it but never used it,cos bananas and grapes helped me with sugar cravings. Just try both,you got nothing to lose :)

i am not vegetarian . i dont eat beef and lamb because i dont like the taste of it,but i eat pork and chicken and fish.i came from lithuania,my grandparents lived in a small vilage,and they used to grow they own food,like fruit & vegetables even pigs,cows,chickens . all for food . cos i grow up like that,its normal for me to eat it.

its not that i dont care about animals being killed and cooked,i just dont think about it,i see it as a food.

yes i eat 3000 to maintain,but this site tells me i should be eating about 1900,but its not enough for me,if i was on 1900 i would feel like i am still on a diet.i know 3000 sounds toooo much,but thats what my body needs.you just need to find what works for you.everyone is different.

CC shows i should be eating aprox 1900 cals a day (to maintain),but thats not enough for me. i eat 3000 + !!! and i dont put on weight . i dont think anyone can calculate how active you are . i think i want to eat this much because i am active . when i tried to maintain it at 1900 i felt like i was still on a diet . "listen" to what your body tells you to do !

i never take multivitamins . why should i ? i eat healthy foods,fruit & veg and i think i get all the vitamins i need the natural way . i just dont see point in taking them . they might be a good idea for those who live on burgers and chips . ha ha ha .

if you are used to eat like 15oo a day,you will prabably gain some weight back/or wont lose any for a first week or two,but after that you will start losing weight slowly.

In my opinion you just need to give yourself more time to get used to 2000 calories and eating less.For me it was hard for the first 2 weeks,then i just got used to eating less.

Based on previous posts from sondre, she's hardly sitting on her butt all day.  She stays active chasing after 2 little ones, and she walks everywhere.  Just because she isn't sweating at the gym every day doesn't mean she's inactive and unhealthy. --->

Thank you! Some people seem to think that if you are not at the gym everyday then you are not healthy or dont value your health.

What sort of powers do you have to say i am not healthy just by looking at my picture or reading my posts ? What makes you think that i have any health problems or i am not healthy ?

 Read my post again - i wasn't talking about being healthy ! i said that being slim & at healthy weight(not underweight) is better than being fat! thats just how it works for me ! some people are fat and they are happy about it ,they dont want to change and it doesnt bother me at all . If your happy - good for you.but when i was fat,i didnt like myself at all & i wasnt happy about it ! and getting slimmer was 100% a good choice !

I'm eating 1200 calories a day and walking and I weigh 271 lbs.  My doctor has OK'd the 1200 calories a day for me so please don't say it's "not healthy" since I'm only 19.

I've been training for a half ironman for the past 4 months. On average I run/cycle/swim with a heart rate between 130 - 175 depending on the activity (average 130 for swimming, 150 for cycling, 170 for running) for about 9 - 12 hours per week - sometimes more.  I eat on average 1800 calories per day, 2000 if I have a 2+ hr run or cycle that day. I don't have cheat days. I don't drink. I measure and weigh everything that goes into my mouth. I don't eat out ever. According to the math I should be losing weight like crazy. I'm not. I never do. It just isn't that simple for everyone. Even if the 'estimates' for burn and metabolism are off significantly I should be losing substantial weight every week with my level of activity - I don't.

 You are just like me then ... If i exersice i dont lose weight,don't know why,its just the way it is .But if i just eat healthy foods and count calories without any exersice i lose weight fast . So i dont exersice .

 As many have noted, "exercise" doesn't have to mean going to the gym.  It can mean walking to work/school/stores.  It can mean playing with kids.  It can mean household chores. 

I got active life , but i dont count that as exersice ,because its just my life,things that must be done (shopping/taking kids to the park/cleaning the house) . its just part of my daily routine.

By "exersice" i mean anything like fast walking/running/going to the gym/cycling/swiming or dvd workout. And i dont like any of these. When i said that i was going to start exersice after i lost weight,i even got a dvd Laughing its called "Total Fitness In 12 Minutes A Day For Women" ha ha . But its still sealed , i cant make myself do exersice even for 12 minutes a day . Thats how much i dont like to exersice.I would always find something more interesting to do.

Here in UK you get health visitors,who visit you at home,when you get back from hospital with newborn baby,and they continue to visit you until the child is 3 i think . They do check your childs height,weight,development . And if there are any problems they let you know that there is a problem ( for example the child is overweight) and tell you what to do to "fix" a problem .So i dont understand how parents can say they had no idea the child was overweight .
