I do believe in God and Jesus and everything they stand for but in this day and age it is almost something you have to keep to yourself for fear of persecution. There are many arguments that are very good for both sides and many of them I agree with like the fact that alot of religions have taken things in the bible and interpreted them to suite their needs. What I do believe in is there is a right way and a wrong way to live your life and lord knows I have done my share of the wrong way but I still believe and strive to live the right way. The bible is a good guide for life . Not always to be taken literally like most religions want you to do but it is outdated for our time. First and foremost we should never judge one another and be kind, loving, honest and accepting. If you can do that I do not think it matters what you believe in, the world would be a better place if we could all just do those simple things. |

Some people put celery in there but I do not in mine. There are many different ingredients that go into them it is truly what the cook prefers.

This is the size I usually cook and have to size it down from there. 4 big onions chopped,1-bell pepper-chopped,3 banana peppers chopped,3 to 5 crushed garlic cloves, 2 bundles green onions chopped,2lbs hot sausage,1 whole chicken cut up or 2lbs of pork. 4 cups of rice and 8 gallons of water. Salt ,pepper,red pepper and onion powder. How to prepare in cast iron pot. Brown sausage and chicken and put to the side. Cook down the yellow onions and garlic constantly stirring ( add a little water if necessary so it does not get dry at the bottom of the pot because if you burn them the recipe is screwed. Once you sauteed them down re-add the meat and then your water add enough water to cover everything. Season to taste and cook everything until your meat is good and tender. 15 minutes before you add your rice put in the bell peppers and green onions then add rice and bring to simmer around 15 minutes or until the rice looks to be getting cooked. Stir with a big spoon and turn over the rice. Leave over low heat till the water is all out and the rice is tender. Serve with some french bread and white beans and you got a full meal. Sorry for writing so much. |
