Here's the update for those interested: The trainer agreed with lots of what everyone had to say. He took my measurements (not officially... so he didn't tell me where i lost what... said i have to wait till next week, lol) and in the last 3 weeks i have lost around 6 inches..which i great! He also ended up increasing my calorie intake. Then he said exactly what scaroppo said about the storing of fluids. Thank you all so much again for the support and advice. It just reiterated that i need to stay focused on getting healthy the right way and to not obsess over the small stuff. I'll let y'all know how my official weigh in/measurements go next Friday |

I think i just need to relax. I have been counting calories (i keep a food journal that tracks cals/fat/carbs/prot/fiber which my trainer checks). I'll talk to him tomorrow and maybe we can do my measurements early so I can put my mind at ease. Thank you all for your encouragement! |

in a way i love that show and in a way i hate it. i watch every season of it.... because the stories are so compelling and it's a great way to learn. but, it makes the average person trying to lose weight (i.e. me) feel so inadequate. They are devastated if they lose "only" 2 lbs and half the time even 4 or 5 lbs isn't good enough. logically i know that they are not in a real world setting, so you can't compare them to yourself, but it still irks me a little to see my weight drop so slowly in comparrison |

okay ladies i'm back!! If i don't die i think i'm really going to be able to get my body in shape. so a little bit about me: I'm 27 (almost 28). 5'10 and the last i weighed myself 178. Started with a trainer a little over two weeks ago because i hit a major plateau after losing 25lbs. I'm married to a wonderful man who seems to be able to eat as much as he wants I've really struggled with weight issues for the last 7 or so years, but i'm planning on losing it the right way and changing my life for good this time! I have a trip to Hawaii coming June 24th... so i'm super focussed right now. glad to hear/give any motivation and friendship needed. |

I'm here... sorry just moving slow. I started with a personal trainer about two weeks ago, and yesterday I was pretty much paralyzed. I came to the realization that i'm paying good money to be tortured!!! I go M-W-F, so I am heading out here in about thirty minutes. I'll be back around 1230 or 1 to share how today went! |

Hi there! I'm 5'10 and I gotta say i totally agree about being discouraged when hearing peoples whose goals are 110 lbs and whose starting weight is my goal weight. I have just recently found that if you go to Lands End (online) they have quite the selection of tall girl jeans for around $35-$45. I am all leg, so I was super excited that they even have 36" inseams... now i can wear jeans with heals.. WOOHOO!! |
