Foods Silly Cottage Cheese Question Oct 12 2009
08:48 (UTC)

I personally don't like the taste of full fat cottage cheese. 1 or 2% is the best for me. Nonfat is just gross. It's not worth the 10 less calories or whatever. But if you like the full fat, then eat it! It's very healthy. Duh. Cottage cheese is the best.

First order of business: I'M JEALOUS!!! lol I wanna come dang it.. Second: my mom and sister went to Italy and Switzerland a couple years ago. They ate gelato twice a day and pizza. And they walked EVERYWHERE. I think when you're on vacation, you should BE on vacation, not on some lousy diet. It's Italy for god's sake! Hello! delicious food. Don't be down on yourself if you gain weight. Because if you've learned anything on your journey losing 30 lbs (congrats, btw!), then you know that when you're hungry you eat; when you're not hungry, you don't eat. It's as simple as that. As long as you're not eating like 20 pizzas a day, I doubt you'll gain much.

Have funnnnnn and think of all of us poor CC'ers when you're having yummy gelato :)

To all: I told my best friend who was so worried, he told my sister, who told my mom. So the word is out, and I'm getting help. I will see a doctor next week. I'm not allowed to be alone. I hope I can get better.

I understand you mean well and by no means was that a lecture. But at the same time, I am worried about my health (OBVIOUSLY! lol) and I don't want to get chronically dehydrated or whatever. I was just wondering if Gatorade could help me...

Oh dang, I guess I did okay then. But in my PE class, every shuttle counted as 1% of our grade, so I got a 59% which is....not great :\  My class is about 35 students, but only half of us did pacers (beep test sounds cooler! :P) at one time so the other half could count our shuttles. There aren't many other girls... maybe 15. The last remaining guy in one half did 94 shuttles. The last remaining in the other half did 110!!!! He is crazy good!

We're doing it again at the end of the quarter (end of October, I think) and the end of the semester in December, so I plan to improve immensely!! I'm also eager to see what my mile time is. I haven't done the mile since last year and since then, I've lost 25 lbs and began running. I've never run it in less than 9 minutes, so that's my goal. About 8:30 maybe... we'll see :)

I'm 5'5", 16 yrs old, and currently hovering around 138 unfortunately. This is NOT my happy weight. I have binged my way 10 lbs up since July 9th when something bad happened in my life. My happy weight is more like 125, a little lower would be nice.

Fitness How many calories would I burn in an average P.E class? Sep 01 2009
02:11 (UTC)

Often times I log my PE class as Circuit Training because it includes cardio AND strength, both of which we do. But depending on whatever you're doing, just estimate... As long as you're challenging yourself and working up a sweat, I say don't dwell on calories burned ;)

Maybe you can Google it and see what other sites say?

Personally, I don't think you should get too caught up in calories burned. I did calisthenics at home for a few months and I became incredibly toned (yeah we're talkin' 6-pack toned!). So it definitely works. As long as you're breaking a sweat and you are adding reps and/or sets over time, then you're good to go!

Best of luck ;)

I know exactly how you feel, except I've gained 10 lbs since my original 35 lb weight loss! It is so so so so depressing and hard to get "Back on the wagon." I've yet to do it myself, but more power to you! A detox sounds great. I'm not familiar with any, but I think I may try one myself. I just wanted to give you some encouragement and know that you are not alone! You obviously did something right if you lost 35 lbs, so do what you did before and all will be well again, you just have to be patient. Good luck!!

Well I know I was the last female standing, but all the others are not particularly in shape either! Haha, but yeah, I hope to improve.

Trust me, I've tried and tried again to avoid/prevent/resist binges. And I've failed and failed again. It's turned into a bulimia thing, so I don't really know what to do at this point. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Ohh yeah this summer I was very indulgent in the alcohol department, unfortunately. I had many drunken binges and the munches. But since it's the school year again, I don't drink so that is an improvement!

muffinbug: I know I used to binge even before the break up, but that just made it a million times worse. Yeah we can be buddies! Message me :)

Thank you sulfyr--your help is very much appreciated. It's good to know somebody cares about this stuff. Walking around in public, I look at all the other people and feel like such a freak because eating disorders are so... "in the closet." Nobody ever knows because you can't tell from the outside what hell we are going through every single day  :\

I never really count my calories, sometimes I do just because I'm curious. When I was restricting my diet, I found it to be around 1,000. And I was pretty active.

Thanks for the support. I know it's way easier said than done because at this point, my mind set it "Well what's ONE more binge going to do?" I mean, I've improved over the course of the week, but it's nothing near what it should be. I just don't feel healthy, ya know? Not to mention I have sleeping problems and I'm always EXHAUSTED! But I'm getting there. Slowly but surely.... verrrrrr slowly, haha

It's all relative what is "fat." For you, a size 12 is definitely not fat!! That is so discouraging and insensitive for others to say that. But for me, for example, I started out as a size 12, so for ME that was MY "fat" size. It just depends on the person. But by no means are you fat. Congratulations on your weight loss. I wish I could have half the self confidence you do!

Some random suggestions:

sugar free or diet hot cocoa (60 for sugar free, 25 for diet)

pumpkin w/ splenda & cinnamon (1/2 cup is 40 cal)

Sugar free Jello pudding (depending on what flavor ~75 cals per 1/2 cup)

Sweet potato w/ cinnamon. Not sure about the cals, but it's not too bad

I love diet soda; it satisfies my sweet tooth! However, I personally notice that it does make me quite bloated so I try to keep it to a minimum. I think it just depends on the person. You have to see how it affects YOU. It's 0 cals so it won't make you gain fat.

I agree with littleshellys: the Flat Out wraps are so good! They are 140 cals each, but they're pretty big so you can just eat half. They're also excellent for making your own pizza--it makes a great crispy thin crust when you throw it in the oven for a few minutes.

Hey guys. I'm 5'5" and around 130. You guys have great goals! With enough effort, nothing can stop you from acheiving it. Trust me, last September I was at 162... and I've come so far! It feels amazing. You invest so much time into it and it is worth it. So keep on track and don't get too hard on yourself. I am struggling with anorexia now because I became obsessed, but enjoy a treat every now and then!! Good luck all! Message me if you need ANYTHING at all :)

Yeah it's really confusing because there's unpopped and then popped. There's 2.5 servings per bag, but a serving is measured in unpopped, etc etc ... so I was wrong, oops :S
