Hotpinkgirl - I could see where you can become dependent psycologically to Alli. My friend was taking it but she continued to eat a really crappy diet. I have been really careful to stay within my caloric boundaries. My weight loss is painfully slow (about 1/2 a pound a week) so any extra boost helps. One thing though, like you said I need to drink more water. That's the hard part, I hate drinking water!!!

I like taking alli because it doesn't mess with your head....meaning there is no caffine or any other stimulant. It just works in your intestines and it does have a way of keeping you on track because you don't want to deal with the "treatment effects".

Hmmmm......I have a friend who fell into that trap, I am still watching what I eat and am staying with in reasonable caloric boundaries.

Wow! That is nice weight loss.......I hit a plateau and Alli has seemed to break that. But my weight loss is painfully slow.....about half a pound a week.

I received the phase 2 product yesterday and am going to incorporate it into my regime. We'll see what happens.

By the way I followed your thread on another forum where the girl wrote out what her dietician told her............it seemed everyone was attacking you for what you said. I don't think they were getting what you were saying. Eating more is not going to increase your metabolic rate it will just help control satisfaction. I think eating 6 meals a day would lead to a higher chance of over eating.

Anyway......for what it is worth I agree with you!

Hello!

Sorry I didn't post my weight last week. Since we have been tracking our weight my progress has gone as follows:

Week 1:     234

Week 2:     235.4

Week 3:     234.8

So the weight loss is slow but at least I am losing. Has anyone here tried the new diet supplement Alli? I have been using it for two weeks now and it seems to have helped break my plateau. I really need to start an exercise program but it is difficult with my 8 month old daughter. I don't have anyone to watch her so I can do what i need to do. I try to slip in crunches and other floor exercises when I can but I don't think it is enough. I also have a problem with space where ai live is very cramped for space so.........Anyway sorry to sound wo negative!!!! All is well and however slow it may be, I am losing weight.

Thank you all for the encouraging words and motivating tips.

Kirsten - I like your daily quotes!!!!

Hi!

I just purchased this product from WholeHealthProducts.com.....I am currently taking orlistat and it seems to be helping me lose the weight. I don't get the bad "treatment effects" because I stay within the fat percentage advised.

I am going to try both products to see what comes of it. I see you purchased this product on Dec 11, has it helped you?

Hi All!!!

I weighed myself this morning and somehow managed to gain a pound. Last week I was 234 and now I am 235..........I am very frustrated! I am eating within my calorie limits and doing what I can as far as exercise goes.

I am just going to keep up with what I am doing and try not to get too frustrated!

Kirsten - I think a weekly weigh in is a great idea! If others feel comfortable we could tell eachother what our weight is now and what our goal is.

I currently weigh 234 and would like to get down to 150. I am sure with all the support from this website and this particular forum I could really reach my goal.

I too am glad that Kirsten started this forum.......it's really exciting meeting new people who are in the same boat.....you don't feel as lonely :(.....

So let's keep it up!!

I looked into the 12 week exercise program CC has and I think I'm going to try it out. I am exercising now but it's kind of without rhyme or reason. I'll start it tomorrow see how it goes..............

I'm too a bit bummed.......I've cut back on calories and increased exercise and have gained 4 pounds Cry

I am re-evaluating my diet using CC's analysis.....I think I am eating too many carbs. But the carbs are coming from fruits and veggies so I thought I was in the clear. I am going to increase my protein and see if that works.

Weight Loss what percentage should a person eat? Dec 15 2007
16:37 (UTC)

OK................I did some research and have answered my own question

SODIUM = 2400 mg

CHOLESTEROL = 300 mg

FIBER = 25 g

FAT = 65 mg

PROTEIN = 50 g

CARBS = 300 g

POTASSIUM = 3500 mg

i've compared my daily intake to these and I am well below all of them. As far as 25% 25% 50% of fat, protein and carbs or 20% 40% 40% of fat, protein and carbs; I compared my diet to that and found that I am eating more like 20% 20% 60%..........But all my carbs are coming from fruits and veggies.

Will I still lose weight this way or should I up my protein?

By the way...........thanks for the replies!
