I seem to be slipping motivation too...I hurt my foot, which lost my daily jog, and it turned too cold for outdoor workouts,

then I just am not making more workouts (like indoor cardio or swimming) and I must be eating more due to the holiday junk ...I mean goodies ;-)

I keep fighting the same 3 lbs up and down the last few weeks.

I know I will get back on track as soon as I can jog daily again but I should not be derailed like this...

I am sure the new year will motivate us all...but I want a jump start on it...

HI

 

I am 5'7" (I used to be 5'8" I am not sure where that inch went) maybe too much jumping.

 

I see your avatar is equestrian as well...cool  ;=)

 

I should be trying to loose 20 lbs but I am setting my current goal at 8-10lbs.. I am a 24 BMI so in the high end of healthy but too high a body fat for me.

I would be happy to have another chat supporter!

I like a text/e-mail from a friend 2-3 times a week max to check in...a love interest....I probably prefer a phone call...mainly to hear the implications in ones tone of voice...

In general don't play games...it's silly and she either likes you or not...intrigue rarely works on sober girls ;-)

Yes, in general it is better to get a free education than not.

 

What are you studying? why is that? How far away is you BF? Can't you see him on weekends. If you both work full time you won't see him all that much more anyway.

A really great life partner wants what is best for you....

I did get to go to a great university right out of HS....my BF was 6 hours away...I ended up changing schools a 6 months later (partly) to be closer to him and then broke up with him a year later...

I am really lucky it all worked out well for me...

But the best advice I have is to get as much free education as you can...because sooner or later most of us have to either pay for our education with crushing student loans... or work jobs we would not have chosen if we had better opportunities...

Also.... talk with people in your chosen field and see if you really like it...do an internship...study multiple things to see what you really like while you can choose to get the education to benefit you, and while you have the opportunity thanks to Grand PA!!!

Oh and tell Grand Pa thanks for doing as much as he has with his retirement money...he could have bought a condo in Florida or Hawaii or a great car with your education money!!!

SO, I tried to keep up my EX and hurt my foot yesterday...so I had to go swim ;-) and Jogging seems to be out...

 

Today I tried to walk for like 30 min and that was not the best idea...I did stand around outside for two hours teaching riding so that's better than sitting on my butt!...

 

I think tomorrow I will either swim, yoga or ride my bike  (which I have not ridden since summer)...

I am trying to do something every day...

I keep healthy snacks around for me...I also keep the junk food in a cupboard so I don't see it...if someone wants chips, or cookies they have to go get it and put it back...the less you handle it the less tempted you are to just have one LOL

 

I cook healthy for me and if BF wants something else he makes it and adds it to my "side dishes" ;-)

 

Hang in there once you lose a bit you'll feel great and be able to stay on the wagon!

 

It helps me to imaging carrying around a 5# or 10# FLOUR SACK...and think that I have lost that amount and that weight is off my joints and knees and now I can Jog if I want! Yay

 

I too have to just get out and be active with out much of my family...but I take my MP3 player and go!

I feel better, breath better, and have a rush of dopamine ;) or endorphins that I mainly only feel when maxing out at the end of my jog ;-)

Cool, I log my exercise daily but I am mainly doing cardio (jogging) ...I hope to add strength or flexibility training as well....

 

One hour Jog today 4 miles or so...

Excellent...I am 36 5'7" and would love to lose 10# as well...

I lost about 5-7# and can really feel the difference...I can jog 5K or so and do in the am generally...I swim occasionally, ride horses, but I need to increase my activity somehow...

Keep me on it! little-shell...

 

I love chocolate too! I hide it in my cupboard cause if it is out I will eat a bite in passing...

I am in! Yay...

I hit a plateau...need to ramp it up a bit...153 # today

(150-153 over the last week)...my current goal is a steady 145 (for now) maybe 140 in the future...

I have been jogging 45-60 min a day...eat quite healthy generally...

Hoping to lose 1# a week over 8-10 weeks...

Yes, I eat healthy and move more...for me it is the moving rather than the eating that does it... I am not able to cut enough to lose in any timely fashion...but when I devote time to moving it gets better... I was told a few months ago to move 6 hours a week...any day... just do it...so if you miss a work out you can just make it up another day...it is going really well...Cool

In medical weight loss (I am not a Dr. but worked as a counselor) we weighed daily and then averaged the weekly weights to get an overall picture...so weigh 7 days and then add them all together and divide by 7 to get the average for the week. And compare the weekly averages.

This takes in to account daily fluctuations from the above mentioned issues and salt intake water gain etc...

Sometimes your body will plateau...it is frustrating but if you continue on the weight will come off...also if you are weight training the new muscle will weight more than fat...
