Only trying to be supportive here but....you do realize your goal in to be underweight?  your bmi as I found would be not so hot!!  Sounds like you are doing the right things for eating (I didnt look at how many calories that were right for you) and that is great but maybe you shouldnt worry about losing weight...I guess I just dont get why alot (not all) of young woman want to look so skinny?  I bet you look perfect right now :)

my husband is wonderful because he never commented or implied anything about my need to lose weight but just went along with my new eating habits and I really do think he is proud of me...however, that being said...he pulled out the question last night " so are you gonna start just working out at nights?"  .  This is because the last two days have been hectic for me having 3 young kids at home that I didnt have a chance to workout in the daytime.  So his comment was more a statement to say "what the hell are you doing this at night for when you have all day to do it?"  That being said any of you out there tried to use an elliptical machine or weights with a two and four year old around...merely impossible...needless to say, I usually wait until my son is down for his sleep and I can give my daughter a show or a craft to play with and get my workout done....enough said ...sorry it was soooo long!!

I know how you are feeling lindz78....I have found myself pondering that question many times....not wanting to go out with my girlfriends for a ladies night as I seem to melt into the corner.   I find I had very low self esteem and only since losing 30 lbs recently (since Jan) and being 2/3 of the way to my goal, do I finally feel attractive again....dont get me wrong, I am a happily married woman to a very kind man who has loved me what ever size I was (prefers my curves a bit at 140 ish) but it sure sucks not to be noticed by the opposite sex.  Now that I have lost weight and in a more 'normal average' weight range, I find I get more glances and longer too!!  Or maybe it is just cause I have my head held high and know how hard I worked to get there.....

Where do I start....

big one for me...people who have unrealistic goals...'oh I am 5'7 and want to be 115 lbs'...that bugs me alot and unfortunately as much as I love this site and find it helpful, it is flooded with people who want to do that to themselves...

I like more realistic goals..5"3 start 184lbs Jan 2, currently 155lbs, and a goal weight of 135-140 (age 34 mother of three and medium build with D's)

girlfriends of mine who are younger who can shovel the food in and not see an ounce...go figure :)

My rant for the day!  Whew

Fitness Walking Mar 26 2008

I am certainly no expert but I think especially if you are not physically ready to start running you should just make sure you are at a steady pace that gets you heart pumping and then take the time to enjoy the walk....you will find that you enjoy it more when you are breaking a sweat and when you are ready start walking to warm up and then go for running a minute, then walk, then run  a  minute....I find that works great for me.  Within a couple weeks you should be able to walk further, harder and faster.  Good luck...

I feel your pain....yesterday was my birthday and since I have a large family and Easter events, I really didnt care too much for calorie counting...I had done soooo good for the last 3 months I decided I needed a well deserved break (down 26 lbs since Jan 2)....needless to stepped on the scale this morning and up 3.4 lbs from friday...now I know I didnt eat within my fat loss calories, but I didnt eat that much, therefore, I think it is major weight retention and eating at the wrong times....dont worry it will come down..surprising, I was really looking forward to getting back on the food and exercise...kinda left me feeling crappy yesterday

hey...I just wanted to ask...I went to the BMI calculator and entered your stats ...5'6 and 154 and it said you were in the healthy range?  I only checked cause the weight range you have of 115-140 is for someone my height of 5'3...you are taller...dont know if the age has anything to do with it but I entered 25 years....check it out...

Boy do I feel your pain....for the last 2.5 weeks I have doing the same thing....up and down everyday and no matter how much I watch I cant seem to break the 3 lb range....something that may help, just a suggestion, is to try zig zagging your calories...do some research and find out the amount of calories per day you should have and give it a shot...I have heard it is great to break that plateau that everyone eventually reaches...I should really take my own advice too :)

Thanks so much for the suggestions and any more are welcome please...I drink 5-6-7 500 ml bottles of water a day with fresh lemons or berries in them...kinda adds flavor...my new goal for the week is to track my sodium as well...I do watch the obvious things that have salt and do not add to my food but I am sure there are hidden salt in the food that I eat...I think I might try the diurex in the meantime...coley_moley do you take one a day or what and at what time of the day...thanks again

Oh Jackie106....how I know your pain!!  My house (new mind you) or scale does the same thing....up and down in different places in the house...very frustrating....how is that possible?   NOw for someone who wasnt watching calories and battling their weight it might not be a biggy...but when you see it fluctuate that much it can really get you down...one other reason I should try to only weigh myself once a week....wouldnt drive me crazy so much....

while I appreciate your concern my stats are completely accurate for my height and weight....5'3 female, 34 years old, 168 lbs with goal of 135lbs (not a crazy goal weight or anything)...I go between the light and the moderate exercises as daily things change...and that is the figure I come up with...I never go below that number just hover there or slightly above....the fact that I am taking these fiber pills are just helping me not struggle so much with hunger and even the cravings....I am a stay at home mom of three kids and I find I visit the pantry too many times in day and this just helps to nudge me along...other than my quick jump of 6 lbs the first week, I am losing between 1.5 and 2.0 week which I believe will slow as well...

as far as being safe, it has been tested and fda approved in Canada at least and there is no stimulants or unnatural products in it....kinda just makes sense to me....I feel comfortable with it...about as much as I would take cold medicine or analgesics...everyone is different as far as side effects are concerned....I just wanted to share with others my personal experience and thought it might help others too...

I went to the health food store tonight to ask about the differences between metamucil and pgx...this is what they told me....metamucil is a psyllium fibre which can upset tummys and cause a 'back up' if you are not careful...this is a totally different fibre that also contains coconut oil that kinda 'lubes' the fibre up so it is easier expell...(no easy way of putting it)..therefore, more people would be able to take it....really a totally different product than metamucil.....I do know from the lady tonight that it is a Canadian Product and am unsure if it is distributed internationally yet.....sammyxx....I use the natural factors pgx daily capsules....wellbux or something also puts it out as well as slimstyles....any help finding it or questions I do not mind finding out for anyone....

As someone who has never used metamucil as I hate the way it tastes and texture of it I really like the pill form of pgx...it is a different type of fiber too (I believe) that does different things that metamucil does....put aside the fact that I have fullness for 2-3 hours after taking them and eating a good lunch, I believe there are some very good aspects to it as far as the lowing gylcemic index and regulating sugars...always a good thing when trying to lose weight...I believe if you check out the link I posted you might learn just a bit more about it....

I admit I am a very normal, regular person as far as digestion is concerned and I do not find many things upset my tummy...I can see that this product would not be for everyone but like most things nothing is the same for every person...just wanted to pass on what I think is a great so far...I personally always like to hear of things that help people out in the battle of the bulge and a healthy lifestyle...

I would suggest someone who cannot swallow pills to reconsider as these things are pretty big....and you cannot crush them either....they are soft capsules....but you could try the shake....

No not 14 lbs in a week ...but in 5 weeks...first week was a 6 lbs chunk ...my only advice is to check it out and see if it appeals to you...I wonder if they sell it in the states....who knows, I have a hard time believing that you all cant get it....for once we might have something you dont!!!  LOL....we always seem to be the ones left behind with these things...

Hey feanor, I hear ya...sure those help...but I dont know about you, it certainly doesnt last long...I eat really quite well with the occasional treat or must have item....this is a bit different though and I encourage you to have a peek at it...as I said it definately helps with the hunger but also helps with soooo many other things....I find it just carries me through very comfortably without food being constantly on my mind.....I did alot of research myself and found nothing of a disadvantage on my otherwise healthy lifestyle....

I think everyone is different with side effects on the depo shot but I think before you start a birth control method  you should do your research so good for you for asking....now with that said, I was on the depo shot for 6 months and gained 25 lbs in that time...shot up from 125 lbs (healthy weight and looked awesome I think) to 150...I have heard way to many people say they have gained weight too!!  If it was from cravings or hormones it still happened!!  Be cautious and aware of your body...I tried the patch for a bit which is just as nice as depo I think however, for a week out of the month I thought I could kill my husband if he breathed the wrong way so I decided I should try something different...Still havent found the right thing but am looking...
