Weigh in. Sadly, i weighed myself after a heavy family dinner, coming in at 167, exactly my starting weight from the first time around of dieting. SInce i did, JUST eat i am hoping its actually a little bit less than that, nothing wrong with being hopeful. AM staying home for the weekend instead of away like i had planned so i need to try extra hard not to boredom-eat! wish me luck

julz, oh my god, i feel you with wati call the DIsney-15. we stayed at one of the resortds, and actually were on the meal plan and it made it worse, since all the entrees at our resort or any place we ate were so huge but "free" along with the 3 snacks we were allowed a day (5 scoop sundays anyone). we ate simply to not waste the "meals and snacks" we had allotted and gained so much friggin weight afterwards. It was hard to get off the fried foods and sweets that we had for every meal everyday in disney. And  still i remember most fondly the food there, not even the parks, isnt that sad?

wow, did i really say my apetite went away? I am now the victim of late night munchies! i've never been a middle of the night snacker but now i am so ravenously hungry at nighttime, haha. i gave in and made myself 4 eggs last night=/  hopefully better tomorrow.

and goodness okie  120's! i havent been 120 since i was in middle school, haha. i think i would be a bit too small there.

dplatzer, wow i hope it was a malfunction of the scaley kind! the same thing happened to me, except i fell off the bandwagon hard, haha, so sadly my scale was correct and i was back where i started! really thinking its not the issue for you since you keep active and watch what you eat, i assume, much better than i did on my "fallen off the wagon" time.

Tallie here! 5'10 and 167lbs. trying to get down to 130. I was 130 about 2 years ago and it was defiantely my heslthiest wieght ( i am built a littl smaller bonewise so trust me, it isnt too much weight to lose, my excess fat hangs reallly badly on me).

I was really doing well with my diet, almost halfway and then i fell off the wagon in a bad way, so now i am just trying to start up again. One a happier note, i am on a birth control that seems to have cut my appetite in half in the last few weeks, so this is actually helping! as a former bulimic, who still has her binging tendencies, a decrease in appetite can only be a blessing.

so... thats it:)

i had a really bad week-and-a-half, diet-wise, so my weight last saturday was the same as my starting weight(i mean a seriosuly BAD week).so, here we go.

Starting Weight:169

Last weeks Weight:168

Current Weight:162

Goal weight:140/130

I realize its the morning and i haven't eaten so it's not really that accurate, haha, but still, i'm getting somewhere again.

as for a plan, i have classes lined up for the summer at m y local gym (one dance-fitness class and one abs class, both 2 times a week). I have a weird eating plan, i have 2 "good meals" just fruit and veggies and healthy stuff, keeping out completely the bad things, and i have one "normal" meal(any of the 3), which is things i would usually eat, but in smaller portions, or with healthier variations. The only bad part is i get very hungry between so i keep lots of healthy snacks like lowfat yogurts and fruits and carrot sticks and things

I've been so busy i ahevn't logged in at all.

A bunch of graduation stuff is going on, along with abiout 5 trips and family affairs.

Needless to say i fell from my diet-wagon=/I was doing so well, but being so busy i had lost the motivation to keep healthy. AFter tonight (when i am going out to dinner with some old friends, so i decided to just eat normally for me) i will be back on track with everything, hopefully.

Welsome to the group for all who have participated sonce my last post. Weigh-ins on Saturdays, though many people, including me, forget:) Hope to hear from you all again!

To the EDers, i feel you,, i have been over m bulimia for YEARS and it is still the worst battle to get rid of those bad habits, binging being the hardest to beat.

It still makes me stupidly happy to have people agree that, once again i will say it, tall girls hold their weight differently. If you think our target weights are too low, then you obviously have never carried wieght as a 5'10-6ft girl. We are the only people that really can tell how unhealthy we are, because we hold out weight so that it doesn't look bad, it's spread out more. It just annoys me when others tell me that if i get down to that weight (which i have been on before, mind you) i will be too skinny. No, i will be healthy, at about 115 i would be too skinny, not 130.

EVerybody is built differently, tall gals especially. we can just hold so much more poundage and still "look" okay, but be over weight.

Saturday Weigh-ins:)

Starting Weight: 167

Last weeks Weight: 167

Current Weight:158?!?

Goal Weight: 130

the only explanation for the weird-weight loss is that SInce i used to eat meals big enough for 3 people (i am definately not lieing either) and snacks as bug as meals, my body is likeliterally going into shock from the healthy normal sized meals i have been eating.

kaetlynn, i always love those workout videos! i like doing the silly dance *hip-hop,haha) ones for general fitness, and bellydancing ones work onders for your abs. HAs anybody else watched All-STar workouts? they have all of these different 45 munite work outs, and they have the best variety of dance ones. i think the most fun to do and the one where i think i lost like 5 lbs just from doing it was this latin/african mixture. i was glad i had tasped it because i needed to stop and catch my breath so much. I always have to force myself to do it all out, instead of doing half-assed movements, but its fun

i now think i may get a hula hoop, haha. that does sound pretty easy.  and a skip-it, if i can even manage to find one, it's been like a decade or so since they've been popular.

Saturday weigh-ins!

I'll be the first i guess. I'm not sure the format for weigh-ins but i'll just make one up:)

thank god my jumbled description was clear enough for someone besides myself, haha. i was just thinking, that was actually a pretty good workout, if you did it for a length of time. i should start doing simple things like that, that are fun, but are good for getting in a little bit of extra activity without it feeling like work

Hoolo-hoop? i used to love those, haha, i might have to try that. Does anybody remember "skip it"s? Like you had to swing your one foot to make the rod go round and then jump over it with the other foot....well, i'm not good at explaining things am i,haha.

so Tomorrow is weigh in, though we can do it in the middle of the week too, if anyone prefers. I hope i've gotten down a little bit, i've been trying to be really good this week with my binging habit and only fell off of the wagon once.

Thank you! i hate that very time i post something anywhere on this site, some woman always tries to tell me that 130 lbs would be underweight. Meanwhile they're 5'2 and hold their weight differently=/ 130 was my comfortable weight, not even skinny, just healthy.

and i soo emphasize with the hip thing. My hip bones are huge, my shoulders too, and i have horrible thigh cellulite=(

I want to try and get more people's approval before making the group just because there are so many empty groups already on here, and i don't want another one.

also, saturday weigh in's still okay? SOmeone asked for a mid-week weigh-in, which is also fine, so opinions?

ATTENTION:

Glad to see so many replies:) I fele like a proud mama, haha.

Should i go ahead and make an actual "group" and move ourselves out of the forum? Or should we keep this format? Though we could always still keep the forum active for "recruiting" but have a group as well.

I was thinking that in the group we could at least have private forums, with different topics for Weigh-ins, Tips, Recipes, Welcomes, General Talk and whatnot, but it's you guys who make the group:) so what do you think?

I'm really glad people are talking on here, i fele like a proud mama, haha. It's nice to just talk to people though, when you knwo they are going through the same things you are.

Alisha, i really hope your asthma gets better as you get in shape it reall is amazing how many problems get better just by making these changes in your life.

Micki, definately keep us posted on the cellulite. I think i will do the same thing, take pictures before, and maybe every week or so to see the improvement, with my thighs and weight in general. and wow! 5 lbs in a week is really really good! I'm hoping for 1 or two, haha. I actually want to do a mid-week weigh in tonight, just to be nosy and see if i lost anything:)

I guessi kinda am where some of you guysa are, where weight loss is nice, but just to be more toned and less flabby is what i want. I'm glad i'm not the only one who finds that a 130-50 lb goal is not "unhealthy". It really does just depend on the body.

Also, for alisha, for your job, definately eat a lot of water to cut down on pointless snacking. If you feel yourself grabbing for something ot put in your pmouth, water, even some flavored water is better than junk food. I always keep a 24oz propel (blueberry pomegranate) in my purse so i can be hydrated and it keeps me less hungry. Also, start brown-bagging it! especially now that summer is upon us, i have taken to packing a baggie with grapes, cherries and strawberries to much on, a much more nutritious snack. A lot of summer fruit feels like it's more snack than chore to eat. Try pomegranates as well. because of the small pods/seeds that you eat, you take more time to do so, and the more slowly you eat, the "fuller" you feel.

AND,haha, i feel long winded, there are simple things you can do at your job that help. If you need to go down the hall for something, do lunges, even find a partner to do it with you, so you don't feel self-conscious. While your sitting, contract your butt(funny i know) and hold for a few seconds before releasing. If you do these enough, it really does make a difference.

i already drink a lot of water, but more can't hurt since i am not a huge fan of cellulite=) (though i might try the coffe grounds thing too, haha)

I am going to be extra good today, since i had chinese yesterday, and definately do some treadmill in my basement(sadly no gym this week, i'm too busy). But since i love the elliptical, when i do get into my gym-grove, i'm definately trying for 3x a week, haha.

Oh and being called "healthy"? Gosh, how many times have i heard that, haha.

People are so incredibly rude.

If someone asks for help, you do not spend the whole time bickering bitterly among yourselves. How about you stop playing this stupid game, and making the poor girl who posted this thread feel downright miserable that she ever brought it up.

I am new to this site, and quite frankly it IS confusing, all the the terminology that i do not know how to use corretcly, and whether she meant ton eor strengthen or friggin shrink-with-a-laser, doesn't matter all that much. Just be polite, give advice and move on.

It's just sad to see people acting like this on a site meant to motivate, help and bond with others. Be adults.

so i actually did good with snowballs, not eating them i mean (and we were too busy for me to try any workout things today), biut then i fell victim to the chinese place in the same shopping center. oops.

SInce i give myself one "normal" eating day a week (my off day from dieting) i'lljust make it today. I am disappointed with my willpower though.

And cellulite! i really want to try that. if anybody does it, let me know ho wit works out(though i can't imagine only one time would make much difference, is it supposed to be something you repeat?)

I'm surprised at how many people have had some sort of eating disorder-type habits before. it makes me feel less odd for admitting my own problems.

That's the spirit:) I plan to be faithful to my "life style change" and log my calories everyday, and any activity that i happen to do on my off time.

Today will be difficult. I work in a snowball shack, and i work tonight, so everybody cross their fingers that i don't wind up ruining my good behavior.

Welcome! Is it ad that i always wanted to be a vegan, but i have a weakness for 2 things that are no-no's. lamb, eggs, and feta cheese=/ however, like you, dark chocolate is a weakness:) i try to keep to 3 meals, so mega healthy, one regular, and three "good" snacks.

I think we should post our progress stats each saturday, but post during the week just to talk to each other and help out others. Sound good? Also, i plan to friend anyone that joins so that i can keep up with everyone's progress.

I think updates once a week are good, say every saturday. Even though i'll probably be talking to people on here more than that. I think we should try to friend everyone on here if we an, so we can talk to each other outside of the forum. I hope we get some more people on here so we can help each other out:)

I really am not sure if i want to get all the way down to my goal weight, or just until i feel or look healthier, but either way, i want to maintain it once i get there.

I'm hoping for the same! any weight off would be good weight, but it's always nice to be thinner in the summer, it's too hot for all that extra weight!

Mine say 1600, and i'm getting good at not going over that too much, staying under it mostly. I won't have time to exercise til summer, but then i already have signed up for a abdominals class, and a dance-fitness class, in addition to the gym membership in general. WHat i really can't wait for is the kayaking in the summer, which i love!
