Original Post by smwhipple: I meant that he could feel this, it's a sharp metal wire. The Mirena isn't made of copper, it's a flexible plastic. I'm thinking about having it removed if I don't stop spotting soon. It's driving me insane. |

I have a Mirena, and I'm not breastfeeding but I hate it. I'm completely insane, and I've been spotting since they put it in. The anger/crazy emotional train wreck might be ppd, but I don't think it's normal for a postpartum woman to spot for 4 months. Also, the doctor says that it's probably the hormones in the mirena. Also, my boyfriend can feel the copper wire and it hurts him. |

| Weight Loss | Counting Calories vs. Weight Watchers.. I need to choose and I want your help | Jul 14 2009 02:12 (UTC) |

Calorie counting is more like a lifestyle change than a "diet." You can easily watch you calorie intake for the rest of your life, but do you really want to be "counting points." You can just look at a label for a calorie count, instead of looking up a point value in a book. Calorie Counting also doesn't require any special products or attending meetings. It's definitely more likely to be sustainable weight loss, since you notice what you eat and what you should eat more of. Whereas once you stop counting points, you'll probably start gaining weight back. |

My old roommate was a vegetarian. He was also an alcoholic. One night he started eating chinese food leftovers (that didn't belong to him), while me and one of our other roommates tried to tell him that it contained meat. He didn't believe us, he also didn't believe that the leftovers weren't his. He wolfed down an entire container of beef fried rice while claiming it wasn't beef. He was oh-so-very sick, as well as embarrassed the next morning. |

Atleast you're not in the same boat as me! I clearly had no self control when I was pregnant, because I gained 60 lbs! I'm 11 weeks pp, and I still have 25 to lose to get to my pre-pregnancy weight. |

| Weight Loss | I zipped my chub trying on pants! | Jun 19 2009 19:39 (UTC) |

When I was 7 months pregnant I went shopping for a new pair of maternity pants since I had gained 40 lbs since I bought my first pair.
I went into Old Navy and got a pair of jeans with a full panel in the front (in one size up from what I used to wear, being hopeful). In the dressing room, I grabbed onto the panel to pull the pants up, and the panel ripped right off the pants. It was so loud and I could hear the dressing room attendant stifle a laugh. I just left the pants in the dressing room and wore sweat pants for the rest of my pregnancy (and 3 months after). |

I used to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (at least 500 calories) and a big glass of whole fat milk for breakfast every morning when I was pregnant. I would also have a grilled cheese sandwich before bed as a snack! |

I've been making delicious, huge breakfasts for less than 250 calories. I cut up a bunch of veggies (onions, peppers, mushrooms, spinach, broccoli, whatever i have in the fridge), and make an omelet with 1/2 cup egg beaters (60 calories) and 1/4 Sargento reduced fat cheese (80 calories). It's delicious, and it holds me over for a few hours. |

Original Post by lookingfly4newyork: Haha, I wanted to name my son Jackson, but we realized about a week before he was born that his name would be "Jackson Michael," since our last name is Michael. So we changed out plans last minute.
My boyfriend wanted to give me son an original name, but he wanted to be too original and give him a name that no one had (Friend or Satchel were his two favorites). His other top choice was naming him Townes after Townes Van Zandt. Fortunately, he felt bad after my emergency csection, and let me name the baby Elias. |

I asked him too, but my boyfriend wouldn't shave it for me! I got so big that I still couldn't find my crotch until about 6 weeks postpartum! (last week was the first time I've shaved since November!) He was completely okay with trimming my toenails though. I don't know if that's strange or not. |

It's a little over 100 calories, it's 120 calories per serving. But, i keep a box of this around: http://www.cajungrocer.com/no-pudge-original- fat-free-fudge-brownie-mix-p-1674.html Mix 2 tbsps mix with 1 tbsp FF vanilla yogurt, pop it in the microwave for a minute and you have a delicious chocolatey, gooey 120 calorie snack. AND, it's not too small either! |

| Pregnancy & Parenting | Handling comments about appearance | May 06 2009 12:02 (UTC) |

I worked right up past my due date, I work in a retail pharmacy. In the last 2 months I just stopped working the front counters because I was so sick of people commenting on my appearance. So many people would say "Any day now?" or tell me that I must be having a big baby. Granted, I gained almost 60 lbs and gave birth to a 9 lb baby, but the only acceptable things to say to a pregnant lady are "you look great" and "you're all belly." |

| Weight Loss | I now weigh more than my husband | May 06 2009 11:56 (UTC) |

I stopped weighing myself about 2 weeks before I gave birth, but that that point I weighed around 195 lbs (a 55 lb weight gain!). I was probably atleast 200 when I was admitted to the hospital. I'm 5 weeks postpartum and I still weigh 175. My husband only weighs 150! I feel like such a lard, his tshirts and pajama pants don't even fit me! |

| do you think antacid tablets, such as tums, would do the same trick?
I have some here with 425 mg of calcum and 10 mg of magnesium per tablet. If this works, then it would be a great alternative to changing your entire diet and having to consume and excess of fatty dairy products. |

| my mom has fybromyalgia and it's very difficult for her to do the smallest tasks. But she's also very overweight, and an alcoholic. Personally, I think that she was diagnosed with fybromyalgia just to shut her up and get her out of the doctor's office. There has to be a bigger problem.
I don't think that fybromyalgia is a diagnosis as much as a symptom. I don't think that chronic pain without a cause is a satisfactory diagnosis. Anyways, to the point. Have any of you ladies tried physical therapy? It's helping my mom quite a bit with mobility. She's building muscle strength and slowly moving forward. |

| This week has been terrible
It all started last Tuesday. I had a date, so I kept my calorie count low at lunch anticipating eating out for dinner. I only had raw veggies for lunch, but I ate enough to be full. Then I went out on my date and ate a HUGE piece of tiramisu. the entire thing. I felt like vomiting from disgust because it was so big and rich. Wednesday night was passover. I ate enough Matzah to feed a small family. then I had a lovely dinner of turkey, covered in gravy, and potato casserole. Thursday I was good. Friday I was good except for one cookie at lunch, and then I ate chinese food at midnight. Saturday I didn't work out. Sunday I didn't work out and I ate Chicken Marsala at work. OMG it was so good. Monday, today, I was good. I went back to the gym and I kept it real. Hopefully I'm back on track now. I just spent a week not losing anything, I'm actually up .8 lbs or something since wednesday. |
