That's fantastic!  Feel free to look up the Healthy Curve group on facebook and I can invite you to it!  I have lots of videos and recipe links there.

And congrats on the losing of 36lbs.  What method of weight loss has helped you the most?

Let me introduce myself then!

I joined CC about a month ago and I've lost 4.1 Kg (9lbs) since.  I try to lose on average a kilo a week.  It's not easy though...my real vice?  I love to cook, I love to bake...and I believe in treating myself.

I've combated this by just feeding my partner more and exercising portion control, but it is hard.  In the last year and a half I have lost approximately 25 Kg (55 lbs) and my aim is to lose another 15-20 Kg.  It seems so far away, but I think I can do it...hell, I know I can do it...it may take a long time though, but as long as I know I'm not alone, then I am sure I'll get there eventually!

I have had an unhealthy relationship with food, associating guilt with eating...it has been a comfort food thing, and I associate many happy moments with eating, but then have feelings of guilt afterwards.

Looking at my old highschool pictures really jolted me.  I think to myself, "how did I let myself get to this point?"...Now I need to think..."What must I do to get back to the point?"

A real catalyst in all this is the fact that I want to start a family soon, and this is a reason why I want to do this healthily, not just to look great in photos or get back into old clothes.  I want to raise my baby differently than how I was, and I know a lot will stem from example.  So I need to start now, so that my body will be healthy enough to have a healthy baby, and so that I can get into the habit of being healthy so that I can impart this to my children.

I hope to share recipes, healthy links and random information with everyone.  I also hope that those that join will do the same!

Let's join together on a new Healthy Curve, by loving our curves!

I think my goal right now is centered around a few things -

#1 - That I'm getting married in 7 weeks, so I want to be able to fit into my dress and look good on the honeymoon cruise!

#2 - I want to develope healthy habits now, because the older you get the harder it is to a) develop those habits, and b) reach your goals (ie. lose weight, build muscle, etc.).

#3 - I want to be an example to my family, and teach my kids (when I have them) how to be healthy.

So, none of it really has to do with wanting to have a particular physique (or more accurately - not have).  It's a matter of having long term goals and a healthy mentality.

That being said, I absolutely love chocolate, sweets and fast food, and there are days when I just want to resolve to be a happy fat person!  But you all have come up with great suggestions to get through those days and stay on track.  Keep 'em coming!

------

Wow your goals seem to be almost exactly like mine.  I'm getting married 25th of July and want to look better for my wedding.  We are going on honeymoon in October to Hong Kong/Philippines and I want to fit into a bikini that I bought which is a bit snug at the moment!

I want to eventually have kids and I want to be healthier before doing so.  I also want to be a good example to them, so I must learn how to cook and eat healthy now so that I too can develop these good habits.

I love cooking and I love making desserts (I have a cake cooling right now!).  What I tend to do is make it, just try a little bit to satisfy my curiousity and then let my partner finish it (he can eat a horse and still be the same size) or I package the stuff up and bring them over to my mother-in-law or my classmates.  So I and others get to enjoy it, but it doesn't hurt my waistline.

I have always struggled with my weight, I had been a lot thinner when I was a teenager, but still overweight.  What keeps me going now?  A healthy relationship with someone who loves me and supports me.

I bought a new dress yesterday, and it was a size smaller than what I expected it to be (Okay, the style allowed for it to be generous, but still!)  It's also the first dress that I've bought from a normal store that wasn't in their Plus sized range in maybe... 10 years?  That felt good!  And I LOVE the dress.  I've worn it twice just around the house to see how I look in it, and since the dress is such that I can wear it still even after I lose a bit of weight, I look at myself in the mirror and imagine how much better I'll look in it once I do.  I plan to wear it for my father's birthday in the Philippines in October so I have some time to shed those pounds.  I intend to look awesome in it.

I have to tell myself this and I have to also not kill myself if I backslide a little bit.  You just need to try harder when you stumble.  Don't give up, just keep your goal in mind.  Your goals are fantastic, write them down and read them when once you wake up and before you go to bed.  It'll start to sink in and your goals will become a part of your life, something that you NEED to do and not just want to do.
