It's sad that you measure your self-worth on what other people think of you.

Losing weight will not make a clod of a difference to one's self-esteem.

How am I being naive? By going against what everybody else is saying? I'm just voicing my own opinion.

I'm sorry, but where did I say that fat people shouldn't have high self-confidence? Everybody should have self-confidence, but nobody should be exceptionally proud because of their body shape. This is what causes body superiority.

If we didn't place so much emphasis on vanity and did not measure our self worth and the self worth of others on appearance it wouldn't make a clod of a difference.

Besides, why the hell would the fashion industry want to intimidate people? To sell clothes, of course! There's no secrecy to that. They only use thin models because society wants thin models. Was that not the case, the industry would not be making billions every year.

Feminism has NOTHING to do with rejecting natural female bodies, or trying to alter or "perfect" them. Don't delude yourself - it's exactly the opposite. If you "almost" admire models (don't kid yourself, if you have an ED, you know there's nothing "almost" about it)

I'm just faulting society in it's entirety when talking about 'perfecting' natural female bodies. I hate the whole concept.

And please don't judge people with eating disorders. Eating disorders have existed a lot longer than super-thin models. They have very little to do with vanity.

Do you honestly think I spent two years slowly killing myself for vanity?

I don't admire models, but I don't have a problem with them either. They have been chosen to market goods for the fashion industry, and society as a whole has chosen what 'beauty' is. The fashion industry is proving how women will supress the human instinct of eating for vanity.

Yes there is a lot of body fascism in the fashion industry, but that would not be the case if society was more tolerant to different body types, or did not put so much emphasis on appearance.

For someone who so adamently wishes fat people would stop stereotyping "size 0's", it sounds like you hold several stereotypes about size 18's. I'm not sure how many revenge-seeking fat people you've encountered in your life (lol, seriously) but you have admitted that low self esteem led you to mistreat your body - has it occurred to you that the fat women who are on this site to lose weight (i.e. trying to treat their bodies better) maybe just prefer doing it without the harmful counter effects of self loathing?

Stereotypes? Not at all. I'm just talking about my own personal experiences.

True, but I'm in recovery now and part of recovery is learning to accept who you are and to stop looking for perfection.

Mypuppymylife: Haha, well it's only an inch! You're probably in better proportion than I am. Really, my proportion is a mess.

If you don't mind me asking, why did you think I was beautiful??? I'm not sure where you'd get that idea! But everyone's beautiful in their own way, you know!

This isn't a spelling competition, and if you must know, it was very early in the morning when I wrote that. Hence the second line making no sense.

My point is, some guys like curvy girls, some guys like stick-thin girls, it's just personal preference. There is no wrong or right answer when it comes to physical attraction, I'm certainly not attracted to the same guys that my friends are attracted to. My definition of beauty is quite different to the next person's idea of beauty. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that.

What really disappoints me is when young girls change their appearance and ways of living just to please men. After years of fighting for our rights to be equal citizens as our male counterparts, women still measure their worth on a man's opinion.

Luckily, I've always been quite thin. Appearance probably mattered to both me and my boyfriend at the beginning of our relationship, but we aren't in the slightest bit concerned about it now. Relationships based on appearance don't last. It seems when you truly love somebody they sort of mould into your idea of beauty despite what you thought to be 'ideal guy' or the 'ideal girl' before your relationship began. Now whenever I think of the perfect guy (appearance-wise), my current boyfriend always springs to mind.

If you must know, both myself and my boyfriend have suffered from eating disorders so he really understands me and supports me and my recovery.

So yes, he is a real winner.

So don't judge.

I understand that you were insulted, but please don't generalise.

Most of those girls can help but be stick-thin.

I know how people who're jealous of us say that, 'They have no lives!' 'The only eat rabbit food!' 'Guys prefer curvy girls anyway'.

I live life to the fullest just as much as anybody else, I'm happy with my body shape and I don't insult larger girls. I eat like a pig, I eat a tonne of red meat. I can do push-ups, sit-ups, I can even do as many chin-ups as the average man. And I don't date guys that are that superficial to say that they only like curvy girls.

And guess what? I'm 5'7 and size 0. So please don't stereotype!

Yes.

If you go on any longer your period may never come back and your ovaries may shut down meaning that you'll never be able to have kids if you want to.

Consult your doctor please, it is not good to be underweight.

Original Post by max298:

You are not gay or bi...These are choices that people make either because they are confused or in many cases abused. These choices are more prevelent these days because of Hollywood and others promoting this activity as normal, which it is not.If you have girl parts you are a girl and naturally that means you were created to someday be with a man, built the way he is to be with a girl.

This is the natural order of things and notice the post you have gotten are from those who have made the choice to go against the natural order of things... Misery loves company!!!

Please put this unnatural act out of your mind and be a kid as long as you can without worrying about sexual things. You are to young to make a life changing decision like this.

That is so incredibly ignorant.

Homosexuality and bisexuality is very normal.

Hey, I'm sorry if I was rude, I guess I should have warned you that I have no real regard for my health and I'm not too bothered about living for very long.

But thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. Although I'm not going to tell my parents about my ED because I'm not quite ready to get better yet. I can't wait for the day I will be ready though.

I'm not angry, I just find it comical, that's all. Smile

It perplexes me how people on the internet express more concern for me than real people in my life.

Thank you.

And can I just add, I was laughing at ktjo because I've never heard a randomer on the internet express so much concern for my well-being.

And I have amenorrhea, so technically, I can't get pregnant. I haven't had my period in quite some time now. Should I be concerned? I haven't told anyone yet.

I am not a 'tool' for my boyfriend. I know that plenty of asexuals do engage in sex just to please their partner. I don't really care, maybe I sound easy, but I love him and I just want to please him.

Your ex is a scumbag.

I don't really understand why some guys like such young girls.

But then again, what can I say? There's a 7 year age gap between me and my boyfriend which would make our relationship very illegal.

Seriously though, do not change who you are to please a paedophile. Real men don't date little girls.

120lbs is not fat for your height.
